Jeremiah 17

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA CEI 2008
1 'The sin of Judah is written with an iron pen, engraved with a diamond point on the tablet of the heartand on the horns of their altars,	1 Il peccato di Giuda è scritto con stilo di ferro, è inciso con punta di diamante sulla tavola del loro cuore e sui corni dei loro altari.
2 while their children remember their altars and their sacred pole beside the green trees, on the lofty hil s.	2 Così i loro figli ricorderanno i loro altari e i loro pali sacri presso gli alberi verdi, sui colli elevati,
3 My mountain on the plain, your wealth and all your treasures I shal hand over to be plundered,because of the sin of your high places throughout your territory.	3 sui monti e in aperta campagna. «I tuoi averi e tutti i tuoi tesori li abbandonerò al saccheggio, come ricompensa per tutti i peccati commessi in tutti i tuoi territori.
4 You wil have to relinquish your heritage which I gave you; I wil enslave you to your enemies in acountry which you do not know, for my fiery anger kindled by you wil burn for ever.'	4 Dovrai ritirare la mano dall’eredità che ti avevo dato; ti renderò schiavo dei tuoi nemici in una terra che non conosci, perché avete acceso il fuoco della mia ira, che arderà sempre». Così dice il Signore:
5 Yahweh says this, 'Accursed be anyone who trusts in human beings, who relies on human strengthand whose heart turns from Yahweh.	5 «Maledetto l’uomo che confida nell’uomo, e pone nella carne il suo sostegno, allontanando il suo cuore dal Signore.
6 Such a person is like scrub in the wastelands: when good comes, it does not affect him since he livesin the parched places of the desert, uninhabited, salt land.	6 Sarà come un tamerisco nella steppa; non vedrà venire il bene, dimorerà in luoghi aridi nel deserto, in una terra di salsedine, dove nessuno può vivere.
7 'Blessed is anyone who trusts in Yahweh, with Yahweh to rely on.	7 Benedetto l’uomo che confida nel Signore e il Signore è la sua fiducia.
8 Such a person is like a tree by the waterside that thrusts its roots to the stream: when the heat comes ithas nothing to fear, its foliage stays green; untroubled in a year of drought, it never stops bearing fruit.	8 È come un albero piantato lungo un corso d’acqua, verso la corrente stende le radici; non teme quando viene il caldo, le sue foglie rimangono verdi, nell’anno della siccità non si dà pena, non smette di produrre frutti.
9 'The heart is more devious than any other thing, and is depraved; who can pierce its secrets?	9 Niente è più infido del cuore e difficilmente guarisce! Chi lo può conoscere?
10 I, Yahweh, search the heart, test the motives, to give each person what his conduct and his actionsdeserve.	10 Io, il Signore, scruto la mente e saggio i cuori, per dare a ciascuno secondo la sua condotta, secondo il frutto delle sue azioni.
11 'The partridge will hatch eggs it has not laid. No different is the person who gets riches unjustly: hisdays half done, they wil desert him and he prove a fool after al .'	11 È come una pernice che cova uova altrui, chi accumula ricchezze in modo disonesto. A metà dei suoi giorni dovrà lasciarle e alla fine apparirà uno stolto».
12 A glorious throne, sublime from the beginning, such is our Holy Place.	12 Trono di gloria, eccelso fin dal principio, è il luogo del nostro santuario!
13 Yahweh, hope of Israel, al who abandon you wil be put to shame, those who turn from you wil beregistered in the underworld, since they have abandoned Yahweh, the fountain of living water.	13 O speranza d’Israele, Signore, quanti ti abbandonano resteranno confusi; quanti si allontanano da te saranno scritti nella polvere, perché hanno abbandonato il Signore, fonte di acqua viva.
14 Heal me, Yahweh, and I shall be healed, save me, and I shal be saved, for you are my praise.	14 Guariscimi, Signore, e guarirò, salvami e sarò salvato, poiché tu sei il mio vanto.
15 Look, they keep saying to me, 'Where is Yahweh's word? Let it come true then!'	15 Essi mi dicono: «Dov’è la parola del Signore? Si compia finalmente!».
16 Yet I have never urged you to send disaster, I never desired the fatal day, this you know; what camefrom my lips was not concealed from you.	16 Io non ho insistito presso di te per la sventura né ho desiderato il giorno funesto, tu lo sai. Ciò che è uscito dalla mia bocca è innanzi a te.
17 Do not be a terror to me, you, my refuge in time of disaster.	17 Non essere per me causa di spavento, tu, mio solo rifugio nel giorno della sventura.
18 Let my persecutors be confounded, not me, let them, not me, be terrified. On them bring the day ofdisaster, destroy them, destroy them twice over!	18 Siano confusi i miei avversari, non io, si spaventino loro, non io. Manda contro di loro il giorno della sventura, distruggili due volte.
19 Yahweh said this to me, 'Go and stand at the Gate of the Sons of the People by which the kings ofJudah go in and out -- and at al the gates of Jerusalem.	19 Il Signore mi disse: «Va’ a metterti alla porta dei Figli del popolo, per la quale entrano ed escono i re di Giuda, e a tutte le porte di Gerusalemme.
20 Say to them, "Listen to the word of Yahweh, you kings of Judah, al you people of Judah too, and alyou inhabitants of Jerusalem who pass through the gates.	20 Dirai loro: Ascoltate la parola del Signore, o re di Giuda e voi tutti Giudei e abitanti di Gerusalemme, che entrate per queste porte.
21 Yahweh says this: As you value your lives, on no account carry a burden on the Sabbath day or bringit in through the gates of Jerusalem.	21 Così dice il Signore: Per amore della vostra stessa vita, guardatevi dal trasportare un peso in giorno di sabato e dall’introdurlo per le porte di Gerusalemme.
22 Bring no burden out of your houses on the Sabbath day, and do no work. Keep the Sabbath day holy,as I ordered your ancestors.	22 Non portate alcun peso fuori dalle vostre case in giorno di sabato e non fate alcun lavoro, ma santificate il giorno di sabato, come io ho comandato ai vostri padri.
23 They would not hear, would not pay attention; they deliberately refused to listen or accept instruction.	23 Ma essi non ascoltarono né prestarono orecchio, anzi si intestardirono a non ascoltarmi e a non accogliere la lezione.
24 But if you listen careful y to me, Yahweh declares, and bring no burden in through the gates of this cityon the Sabbath day, if you keep the Sabbath holy and do no work on that day,	24 Se mi ascolterete sul serio – oracolo del Signore –, se non introdurrete nessun peso entro le porte di questa città in giorno di sabato e santificherete il giorno di sabato non eseguendo alcun lavoro,
25 then, through the gates of this city, kings and princes occupying the throne of David wil continue tomake their entry, riding in chariots or on horseback, they, their chief men, the people of Judah and theinhabitants of Jerusalem. And this city wil be inhabited for ever.	25 entreranno per le porte di questa città re e prìncipi che sederanno sul trono di Davide, vi passeranno su carri e su cavalli insieme ai loro ufficiali, agli uomini di Giuda e agli abitanti di Gerusalemme. Questa città sarà abitata per sempre.
26 They wil come from the towns of Judah, from the districts round Jerusalem, from the territory ofBenjamin, from the lowlands, from the highlands, from the Negeb, to offer burnt offering and sacrifice, and cerealoffering and incense, to offer thanksgiving sacrifices in the Temple of Yahweh.	26 Verranno dalle città di Giuda e dai dintorni di Gerusalemme, dalla terra di Beniamino e dalla Sefela, dai monti e dal meridione, presentando olocausti, sacrifici, offerte e incenso e sacrifici di ringraziamento nel tempio del Signore.
27 But if you do not listen to me to keep the Sabbath day holy, and to refrain from entering the gates ofJerusalem with burdens on the Sabbath day, then I shal set fire to its gates; fire wil devour the palaces ofJerusalem and not be quenched." '	27 Ma se non ascolterete il mio comando di santificare il giorno di sabato, di non trasportare pesi e di non introdurli entro le porte di Gerusalemme in giorno di sabato, io accenderò un fuoco alle sue porte; esso divorerà i palazzi di Gerusalemme e mai si estinguerà».
