Jeremiah 17

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 'The sin of Judah is written with an iron pen, engraved with a diamond point on the tablet of the heartand on the horns of their altars,	1 El pecado de Judá está escrito con un buril de hierro, está grabado con punta de diamante sobre la tabla de su corazón y sobre los cuernos de sus altares,
2 while their children remember their altars and their sacred pole beside the green trees, on the lofty hil s.	2 como testimonio contra ellos. Sus altares y sus postes sagrados están junto a cada árbol frondoso, sobre las colinas elevadas,
3 My mountain on the plain, your wealth and all your treasures I shal hand over to be plundered,because of the sin of your high places throughout your territory.	3 en las montañas y en campo abierto. Tu riqueza, todos tus tesoros los entregaré como botín, gratuitamente, por todos tus pecados, en todo tu territorio.
4 You wil have to relinquish your heritage which I gave you; I wil enslave you to your enemies in acountry which you do not know, for my fiery anger kindled by you wil burn for ever.'	4 Tendrás que desprenderte de tu herencia, la que yo te había dado. haré que sirvas a tus enemigos en un país que no conocías, porque el fuego de mi ira que ustedes encendieron arderá para siempre.
5 Yahweh says this, 'Accursed be anyone who trusts in human beings, who relies on human strengthand whose heart turns from Yahweh.	5 Así habla el Señor: ¡Maldito el hombre que confía en el hombre y busca su apoyo en la carne, mientras su corazón se aparta del Señor!
6 Such a person is like scrub in the wastelands: when good comes, it does not affect him since he livesin the parched places of the desert, uninhabited, salt land.	6 El es como un matorral en la estepa que no ve llegar la felicidad; habita en la aridez del desierto, en una tierra salobre e inhóspita.
7 'Blessed is anyone who trusts in Yahweh, with Yahweh to rely on.	7 ¡Bendito el hombre que confía en el Señor y en él tiene puesta su confianza!
8 Such a person is like a tree by the waterside that thrusts its roots to the stream: when the heat comes ithas nothing to fear, its foliage stays green; untroubled in a year of drought, it never stops bearing fruit.	8 El es como un árbol plantado al borde de las aguas, que extiende sus raíces hacia la corriente; no teme cuando llega el calor y su follaje se mantiene frondoso; no se inquieta en un año de sequía y nunca deja de dar fruto.
9 'The heart is more devious than any other thing, and is depraved; who can pierce its secrets?	9 Nada más tortuoso que el corazón humano y no tiene arreglo: ¿quién puede penetrarlo?
10 I, Yahweh, search the heart, test the motives, to give each person what his conduct and his actionsdeserve.	10 Yo, el Señor, sondeo el corazón y examino las entrañas, para dar a cada uno según su conducta, según el fruto de sus acciones.
11 'The partridge will hatch eggs it has not laid. No different is the person who gets riches unjustly: hisdays half done, they wil desert him and he prove a fool after al .'	11 Perdiz que empolla huevos sin haberlos puesto es el que adquiere riqueza injustamente: en la mitad de sus días tiene que abandonarla y, al final, resulta un insensato.
12 A glorious throne, sublime from the beginning, such is our Holy Place.	12 ¡Trono de gloria, exaltado desde el comienzo, es el lugar de nuestro Santuario!
13 Yahweh, hope of Israel, al who abandon you wil be put to shame, those who turn from you wil beregistered in the underworld, since they have abandoned Yahweh, the fountain of living water.	13 Tú, Señor, eres la esperanza de Israel: todos los que te abandonan quedarán confundidos, los que se apartan de ti serán escritos en el polvo, porque han abandonado el manantial de agua viva.
14 Heal me, Yahweh, and I shall be healed, save me, and I shal be saved, for you are my praise.	14 ¡Sáname, Señor, y quedaré sano, sálvame y estaré a salvo, porque tú eres mi alabanza!
15 Look, they keep saying to me, 'Where is Yahweh's word? Let it come true then!'	15 Mira cómo me dicen: «¿Dónde está la palabra del Señor? ¡Que se cumpla!».
16 Yet I have never urged you to send disaster, I never desired the fatal day, this you know; what camefrom my lips was not concealed from you.	16 Pero yo no te instigué a mandar una desgracia ni he deseado el día irreparable. Tú lo sabes: lo que salía de mi boca está patente delante de tu rostro.
17 Do not be a terror to me, you, my refuge in time of disaster.	17 No seas para mí un motivo de terror, tú, mi refugio en el día de la desgracia.
18 Let my persecutors be confounded, not me, let them, not me, be terrified. On them bring the day ofdisaster, destroy them, destroy them twice over!	18 ¡Que se avergüencen mis perseguidores, y no yo; que se aterroricen ellos, y no yo! Atrae sobre ellos un día de desgracia, quiébralo con un doble quebranto.
19 Yahweh said this to me, 'Go and stand at the Gate of the Sons of the People by which the kings ofJudah go in and out -- and at al the gates of Jerusalem.	19 Así me habló el Señor: Ve, párate en la puerta del Pueblo, por donde entran y salen los reyes de Judá, y en todas las puertas de Jerusalén,
20 Say to them, "Listen to the word of Yahweh, you kings of Judah, al you people of Judah too, and alyou inhabitants of Jerusalem who pass through the gates.	20 y diles: ¡Escuchen la palabra del Señor, reyes de Judá y Judá todo entero, y todos ustedes, habitantes de Jerusalén que entran por estas puertas!
21 Yahweh says this: As you value your lives, on no account carry a burden on the Sabbath day or bringit in through the gates of Jerusalem.	21 Así habla el Señor: Cuídense bien, por su propia vida, de llevar una carga en día sábado y de introducirla por las puertas de Jerusalén.
22 Bring no burden out of your houses on the Sabbath day, and do no work. Keep the Sabbath day holy,as I ordered your ancestors.	22 No saquen ninguna carga de sus casas en día sábado, ni hagan ningún trabajo. Santifiquen el día sábado, como yo les ordené a sus padres.
23 They would not hear, would not pay attention; they deliberately refused to listen or accept instruction.	23 Pero ellos no escucharon ni inclinaron su oído, sino que se negaron obstinadamente a escuchar y aprender la lección.
24 But if you listen careful y to me, Yahweh declares, and bring no burden in through the gates of this cityon the Sabbath day, if you keep the Sabbath holy and do no work on that day,	24 Si ustedes me escuchan verdaderamente –oráculo del Señor– y no introducen ninguna carga por las puertas de esta ciudad en día sábado; si santifican el día sábado no haciendo ningún trabajo,
25 then, through the gates of this city, kings and princes occupying the throne of David wil continue tomake their entry, riding in chariots or on horseback, they, their chief men, the people of Judah and theinhabitants of Jerusalem. And this city wil be inhabited for ever.	25 entonces, por las puertas de esta ciudad, entrarán reyes que se sientan en el trono de David; entrarán montados en carros y caballos, ellos y sus príncipes, los hombres de Judá y los habitantes de Jerusalén. Esta ciudad será habitada para siempre,
26 They wil come from the towns of Judah, from the districts round Jerusalem, from the territory ofBenjamin, from the lowlands, from the highlands, from the Negeb, to offer burnt offering and sacrifice, and cerealoffering and incense, to offer thanksgiving sacrifices in the Temple of Yahweh.	26 y de las ciudades de Judá y de los alrededores de Jerusalén, de la Sefelá, de la Montaña y del Négueb, se traerán holocaustos y sacrificios, oblaciones e incienso, y se traerá el sacrificio de alabanza a la Casa del Señor.
27 But if you do not listen to me to keep the Sabbath day holy, and to refrain from entering the gates ofJerusalem with burdens on the Sabbath day, then I shal set fire to its gates; fire wil devour the palaces ofJerusalem and not be quenched." '	27 Pero si ustedes no escuchan mi orden de santificar el día sábado, y de no llevar cargas cuando entran por las puertas de Jerusalén en día sábado, entonces yo encenderé en sus puertas un fuego que devorará los palacios de Jerusalén, y no se extinguirá.
