Leviticus 8

1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:	1 וידבר יהוה אל משה לאמר
2 'Take Aaron and with him his sons, the vestments, the anointing oil, the bul for the sacrifice for sin, thetwo rams and the basket of unleavened bread.	2 קח את אהרן ואת בניו אתו ואת הבגדים ואת שמן המשחה ואת פר החטאת ואת שני האילים ואת סל המצות
3 Then cal the whole community together at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting.'	3 ואת כל העדה הקהל אל פתח אהל מועד
4 Moses did as Yahweh ordered; the community gathered at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting,	4 ויעש משה כאשר צוה יהוה אתו ותקהל העדה אל פתח אהל מועד
5 and Moses said to them, 'This is what Yahweh has ordered to be done.'	5 ויאמר משה אל העדה זה הדבר אשר צוה יהוה לעשות
6 He made Aaron and his sons come forward and washed them with water.	6 ויקרב משה את אהרן ואת בניו וירחץ אתם במים
7 He then dressed him in the tunic, passed the waistband round his waist, vested him in the robe and putthe ephod on him. He then put the waistband of the ephod round his waist, fastening it to him.	7 ויתן עליו את הכתנת ויחגר אתו באבנט וילבש אתו את המעיל ויתן עליו את האפד ויחגר אתו בחשב האפד ויאפד לו בו
8 He put the breastplate on him, and placed the urim and thummim in it.	8 וישם עליו את החשן ויתן אל החשן את האורים ואת התמים
9 He put the turban on his head, and on the front of the turban, the golden flower; this was the symbol ofholy consecration, which Yahweh had prescribed to Moses.	9 וישם את המצנפת על ראשו וישם על המצנפת אל מול פניו את ציץ הזהב נזר הקדש כאשר צוה יהוה את משה
10 Moses then took the anointing oil and anointed the Dwel ing and everything inside it, to consecratethem.	10 ויקח משה את שמן המשחה וימשח את המשכן ואת כל אשר בו ויקדש אתם
11 He sprinkled the altar seven times and anointed the altar and its accessories, the basin and its stand,to consecrate them.	11 ויז ממנו על המזבח שבע פעמים וימשח את המזבח ואת כל כליו ואת הכיר ואת כנו לקדשם
12 He then poured some of the anointing oil on Aaron's head and anointed him to consecrate him.	12 ויצק משמן המשחה על ראש אהרן וימשח אתו לקדשו
13 Moses then made Aaron's sons come forward; he dressed them in tunics, passed the waistbandsround their waists and put on their head-dresses, as Yahweh had ordered him.	13 ויקרב משה את בני אהרן וילבשם כתנת ויחגר אתם אבנט ויחבש להם מגבעות כאשר צוה יהוה את משה
14 He then had the bull for the sacrifice for sin brought forward. Aaron and his sons laid their hands onthe victim's head	14 ויגש את פר החטאת ויסמך אהרן ובניו את ידיהם על ראש פר החטאת
15 and Moses slaughtered it. He then took the blood and with his finger put some of it on the horns on thecorners of the altar to purify the altar. He then poured the rest of the blood at the foot of the altar, which heconsecrated by performing the rite of expiation over it.	15 וישחט ויקח משה את הדם ויתן על קרנות המזבח סביב באצבעו ויחטא את המזבח ואת הדם יצק אל יסוד המזבח ויקדשהו לכפר עליו
16 He then took all the fat covering the entrails, the mass of fat over the liver, both kidneys and their fat;and he burnt this on the altar,	16 ויקח את כל החלב אשר על הקרב ואת יתרת הכבד ואת שתי הכלית ואת חלבהן ויקטר משה המזבחה
17 but the bul 's skin, its meat and its offal he burnt outside the camp, as Yahweh had ordered Moses.	17 ואת הפר ואת ערו ואת בשרו ואת פרשו שרף באש מחוץ למחנה כאשר צוה יהוה את משה
18 He then had the ram for the burnt offering brought forward. Aaron and his sons laid their hands on theram's head	18 ויקרב את איל העלה ויסמכו אהרן ובניו את ידיהם על ראש האיל
19 and Moses slaughtered it. He poured its blood al around the altar.	19 וישחט ויזרק משה את הדם על המזבח סביב
20 He then quartered the ram and burned the head, the quarters and the fat.	20 ואת האיל נתח לנתחיו ויקטר משה את הראש ואת הנתחים ואת הפדר
21 He then washed the entrails and shins, and burnt the whole ram on the altar, as a burnt offering,offered to be a pleasing smel , as food burnt for Yahweh, as Yahweh had ordered Moses.	21 ואת הקרב ואת הכרעים רחץ במים ויקטר משה את כל האיל המזבחה עלה הוא לריח ניחח אשה הוא ליהוה כאשר צוה יהוה את משה
22 He then had the other ram brought forward, the ram for the investiture sacrifice. Aaron and his sonslaid their hands on its head	22 ויקרב את האיל השני איל המלאים ויסמכו אהרן ובניו את ידיהם על ראש האיל
23 and Moses slaughtered it. He took some of its blood and put it on the lobe of Aaron's right ear, on thethumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot.	23 וישחט ויקח משה מדמו ויתן על תנוך אזן אהרן הימנית ועל בהן ידו הימנית ועל בהן רגלו הימנית
24 He then made Aaron's sons come forward and he put some of the blood on the lobes of their rightears, on the thumbs of their right hands and on the big toes of their right feet. Next, Moses poured the rest of theblood al around the altar.	24 ויקרב את בני אהרן ויתן משה מן הדם על תנוך אזנם הימנית ועל בהן ידם הימנית ועל בהן רגלם הימנית ויזרק משה את הדם על המזבח סביב
25 He then took the fat: the tail, al the fat covering the entrails, the mass of fat over the liver, both kidneysand their fat, and the right thigh.	25 ויקח את החלב ואת האליה ואת כל החלב אשר על הקרב ואת יתרת הכבד ואת שתי הכלית ואת חלבהן ואת שוק הימין
26 From the basket of unleavened bread placed before Yahweh, he took an unleavened cake, a cake ofbread made with oil, and a wafer; he placed these on the fat and the right thigh,	26 ומסל המצות אשר לפני יהוה לקח חלת מצה אחת וחלת לחם שמן אחת ורקיק אחד וישם על החלבים ועל שוק הימין
27 and put it al into Aaron's hands and those of his sons, and made the gesture of offering beforeYahweh.	27 ויתן את הכל על כפי אהרן ועל כפי בניו וינף אתם תנופה לפני יהוה
28 Moses then took them away from them and burned them on the altar, with the burnt offering. This wasthe investiture sacrifice, offered to be a pleasing smel , as food burnt for Yahweh.	28 ויקח משה אתם מעל כפיהם ויקטר המזבחה על העלה מלאים הם לריח ניחח אשה הוא ליהוה
29 Moses then took the forequarter and made the gesture of offering before Yahweh. This was the portionof the ram of investiture that reverted to Moses, as Yahweh had ordered Moses.	29 ויקח משה את החזה ויניפהו תנופה לפני יהוה מאיל המלאים למשה היה למנה כאשר צוה יהוה את משה
30 Moses then took some of the anointing oil and some of the blood that was on the altar and sprinkledAaron and his vestments, and his sons and their vestments, with it. In this way he consecrated Aaron and hisvestments and his sons and their vestments.	30 ויקח משה משמן המשחה ומן הדם אשר על המזבח ויז על אהרן על בגדיו ועל בניו ועל בגדי בניו אתו ויקדש את אהרן את בגדיו ואת בניו ואת בגדי בניו אתו
31 Moses then said to Aaron and his sons, 'Cook the meat at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting, and eatit there, as also the bread of the investiture sacrifice stil in the basket of the investiture offerings, as I ordered,when I said, "Aaron and his sons must eat it."	31 ויאמר משה אל אהרן ואל בניו בשלו את הבשר פתח אהל מועד ושם תאכלו אתו ואת הלחם אשר בסל המלאים כאשר צויתי לאמר אהרן ובניו יאכלהו
32 What remains of the meat and bread you wil burn.	32 והנותר בבשר ובלחם באש תשרפו
33 For seven days you wil not leave the entrance to the Tent of Meeting, until the time of your investitureis complete; for your investiture wil require seven days.	33 ומפתח אהל מועד לא תצאו שבעת ימים עד יום מלאת ימי מלאיכם כי שבעת ימים ימלא את ידכם
34 Yahweh has ordered us to do as we have done today to perform the rite of expiation for you;	34 כאשר עשה ביום הזה צוה יהוה לעשת לכפר עליכם
35 hence, for seven days, day and night, you wil remain at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting observingYahweh's ritual; do this, and you wil not incur death. For this was the order I received.'	35 ופתח אהל מועד תשבו יומם ולילה שבעת ימים ושמרתם את משמרת יהוה ולא תמותו כי כן צויתי
36 So Aaron and his sons did everything that Yahweh had ordered through Moses.	36 ויעש אהרן ובניו את כל הדברים אשר צוה יהוה ביד משה
