Leviticus 8

NEW JERUSALEM	JERUSALEM
1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:	1 Yahvé parla à Moïse et dit:
2 'Take Aaron and with him his sons, the vestments, the anointing oil, the bul for the sacrifice for sin, thetwo rams and the basket of unleavened bread.	2 Prends Aaron, ses fils avec lui, les vêtements, l'huile d'onction, le taureau du sacrifice pour lepéché, les deux béliers, la corbeille des azymes.
3 Then cal the whole community together at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting.'	3 Puis convoque toute la communauté à l'entrée de la Tente du Rendez-vous.
4 Moses did as Yahweh ordered; the community gathered at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting,	4 Moïse suivit les ordres de Yahvé, la communauté se réunit à l'entrée de la Tente du Rendez-vous,
5 and Moses said to them, 'This is what Yahweh has ordered to be done.'	5 et Moïse lui dit: "Voici ce que Yahvé a ordonné de faire."
6 He made Aaron and his sons come forward and washed them with water.	6 Il fit approcher Aaron et ses fils et les lava dans l'eau.
7 He then dressed him in the tunic, passed the waistband round his waist, vested him in the robe and putthe ephod on him. He then put the waistband of the ephod round his waist, fastening it to him.	7 Il lui mit la tunique, lui passa la ceinture, le revêtit du manteau et plaça sur lui l'éphod. Puis il leceignit de l'écharpe de l'éphod et la fixa sur lui.
8 He put the breastplate on him, and placed the urim and thummim in it.	8 Il lui imposa le pectoral, où il mit l'Urim et le Tummim.
9 He put the turban on his head, and on the front of the turban, the golden flower; this was the symbol ofholy consecration, which Yahweh had prescribed to Moses.	9 Sur la tête il lui mit le turban, et sur le devant du turban la fleur d'or; c'est le signe de sainteconsécration tel que Yahvé le prescrivit à Moïse.
10 Moses then took the anointing oil and anointed the Dwel ing and everything inside it, to consecratethem.	10 Moïse prit alors l'huile d'onction, il oignit pour les consacrer la Demeure et tout ce qui s'ytrouvait.
11 He sprinkled the altar seven times and anointed the altar and its accessories, the basin and its stand,to consecrate them.	11 Il fit sept aspersions sur l'autel et oignit pour les consacrer l'autel et ses accessoires, le bassin etson socle.
12 He then poured some of the anointing oil on Aaron's head and anointed him to consecrate him.	12 Il versa de l'huile d'onction sur la tête d'Aaron, et l'oignit pour le consacrer.
13 Moses then made Aaron's sons come forward; he dressed them in tunics, passed the waistbandsround their waists and put on their head-dresses, as Yahweh had ordered him.	13 Moïse fit alors approcher les fils d'Aaron, qu'il revêtit de tuniques, auxquels il passa desceintures et fixa des calottes, comme Yahvé l'avait ordonné à Moïse.
14 He then had the bull for the sacrifice for sin brought forward. Aaron and his sons laid their hands onthe victim's head	14 Puis il fit approcher le taureau du sacrifice pour le péché. Aaron et ses fils posèrent leur main surla tête de cette victime,
15 and Moses slaughtered it. He then took the blood and with his finger put some of it on the horns on thecorners of the altar to purify the altar. He then poured the rest of the blood at the foot of the altar, which heconsecrated by performing the rite of expiation over it.	15 et Moïse l'immola. Il prit alors le sang, avec son doigt il en déposa sur les cornes du pourtour del'autel pour ôter le péché de celui-ci. Puis il versa le sang à la base de l'autel, qu'il consacra en faisant sur lui lerite d'expiation.
16 He then took all the fat covering the entrails, the mass of fat over the liver, both kidneys and their fat;and he burnt this on the altar,	16 Il prit ensuite toute la graisse qui enveloppe les entrailles, la masse de graisse qui part du foie, lesdeux rognons et leur graisse, et il les fit fumer à l'autel.
17 but the bul 's skin, its meat and its offal he burnt outside the camp, as Yahweh had ordered Moses.	17 Quant à la peau du taureau, sa chair et sa fiente, il les brûla hors du camp comme Yahvé l'avaitordonné à Moïse.
18 He then had the ram for the burnt offering brought forward. Aaron and his sons laid their hands on theram's head	18 Il fit alors approcher le bélier de l'holocauste. Aaron et ses fils posèrent leur main sur la tête dece bélier,
19 and Moses slaughtered it. He poured its blood al around the altar.	19 et Moïse l'immola. Il en fit couler le sang sur le pourtour de l'autel.
20 He then quartered the ram and burned the head, the quarters and the fat.	20 Puis il dépeça le bélier en quartiers et fit fumer la tête, les quartiers et la graisse.
21 He then washed the entrails and shins, and burnt the whole ram on the altar, as a burnt offering,offered to be a pleasing smel , as food burnt for Yahweh, as Yahweh had ordered Moses.	21 Il lava dans l'eau les entrailles et les pattes et fit fumer à l'autel le bélier tout entier. C'était unholocauste en parfum d'apaisement, un mets consumé pour Yahvé, comme Yahvé l'avait ordonné à Moïse.
22 He then had the other ram brought forward, the ram for the investiture sacrifice. Aaron and his sonslaid their hands on its head	22 Il fit alors approcher le second bélier, bélier du sacrifice d'investiture. Aaron et ses fils posèrentleur main sur la tête de ce bélier,
23 and Moses slaughtered it. He took some of its blood and put it on the lobe of Aaron's right ear, on thethumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot.	23 et Moïse l'immola. Il en prit du sang qu'il déposa sur le lobe de l'oreille droite d'Aaron, sur lepouce de sa main droite et sur le gros orteil de son pied droit.
24 He then made Aaron's sons come forward and he put some of the blood on the lobes of their rightears, on the thumbs of their right hands and on the big toes of their right feet. Next, Moses poured the rest of theblood al around the altar.	24 Puis il fit approcher les fils d'Aaron et déposa de ce sang sur le lobe de leur oreille droite, sur lepouce de leur main droite et sur le gros orteil de leur pied droit. Moïse fit ensuite couler le sang sur le pourtourde l'autel;
25 He then took the fat: the tail, al the fat covering the entrails, the mass of fat over the liver, both kidneysand their fat, and the right thigh.	25 il prit aussi la graisse: la queue, toute la graisse qui adhère aux entrailles, la masse de graisse quipart du foie, les deux rognons et leur graisse, la cuisse droite.
26 From the basket of unleavened bread placed before Yahweh, he took an unleavened cake, a cake ofbread made with oil, and a wafer; he placed these on the fat and the right thigh,	26 De la corbeille des azymes placée devant Yahvé il prit un gâteau d'azyme, un gâteau de pain àl'huile, et une galette qu'il joignit aux graisses et à la cuisse droite.
27 and put it al into Aaron's hands and those of his sons, and made the gesture of offering beforeYahweh.	27 Il mit le tout dans les mains d'Aaron et dans celles de ses fils et fit le geste de présentation devantYahvé.
28 Moses then took them away from them and burned them on the altar, with the burnt offering. This wasthe investiture sacrifice, offered to be a pleasing smel , as food burnt for Yahweh.	28 Moïse les reprit alors de leurs mains et les fit fumer à l'autel en plus de l'holocauste. C'était lesacrifice d'investiture en parfum d'apaisement, un mets consumé pour Yahvé.
29 Moses then took the forequarter and made the gesture of offering before Yahweh. This was the portionof the ram of investiture that reverted to Moses, as Yahweh had ordered Moses.	29 Moïse prit aussi la poitrine et fit le geste de présentation devant Yahvé. Ce fut la part du bélierd'investiture qui revint à Moïse, comme Yahvé l'avait ordonné à Moïse.
30 Moses then took some of the anointing oil and some of the blood that was on the altar and sprinkledAaron and his vestments, and his sons and their vestments, with it. In this way he consecrated Aaron and hisvestments and his sons and their vestments.	30 Moïse prit ensuite de l'huile d'onction et du sang qui était sur l'autel; il en aspergea Aaron et sesvêtements ainsi que ses fils et leurs vêtements. Il consacra par là Aaron et ses vêtements ainsi que ses fils et leursvêtements.
31 Moses then said to Aaron and his sons, 'Cook the meat at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting, and eatit there, as also the bread of the investiture sacrifice stil in the basket of the investiture offerings, as I ordered,when I said, "Aaron and his sons must eat it."	31 Moïse dit alors à Aaron et à ses fils: "Faites cuire la viande à l'entrée de la Tente du Rendez-vous; vous la mangerez là, ainsi que le pain déposé dans la corbeille du sacrifice d'investiture, comme je l'aiordonné en disant: Aaron et ses fils le mangeront.
32 What remains of the meat and bread you wil burn.	32 Ce qui reste de la viande et du pain, vous le brûlerez.
33 For seven days you wil not leave the entrance to the Tent of Meeting, until the time of your investitureis complete; for your investiture wil require seven days.	33 Sept jours durant vous ne quitterez pas l'entrée de la Tente du Rendez-vous jusqu'à ce ques'achève le temps de votre investiture, car il faudra sept jours pour votre investiture.
34 Yahweh has ordered us to do as we have done today to perform the rite of expiation for you;	34 Yahvé a commandé de procéder comme on a procédé aujourd'hui pour accomplir sur vous le rited'expiation,
35 hence, for seven days, day and night, you wil remain at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting observingYahweh's ritual; do this, and you wil not incur death. For this was the order I received.'	35 et, pendant sept jours, jour et nuit, vous demeurerez à l'entrée de la Tente du Rendez-vous enobservant le rituel de Yahvé; ainsi vous ne mourrez pas. C'est en effet l'ordre que j'ai reçu."
36 So Aaron and his sons did everything that Yahweh had ordered through Moses.	36 Aaron et ses fils firent tout ce que Yahvé avait ordonné par l'intermédiaire de Moïse.
