1 ' "If someone sins in any of these fol owing cases: "He should have come forward to give evidence whenhe heard the formal adjuration, having seen the incident or known the facts; but he has not spoken out, and sobears the consequences of his guilt;	1 Ceci vaut pour la personne qui a été témoin, qui a vu quelque chose, ou on le lui a dit, et elle ne l’a pas dénoncé lorsque le juge l’interrogeait solennellement: elle a péché et est en faute.
2 "or someone touches something unclean, whatever it may be -- the dead body of an unclean animal,wild or tame, or of one of the unclean reptiles -- and without realising it becomes unclean, he becomesanswerable for it;	2 Ou bien quelqu’un a touché une chose impure: cadavre d’animal impur, cadavre d’animal domestique impur, cadavre de bête impure: il est lui-même impur et en faute, même s’il l’a fait involontairement.
3 "or he touches some human uncleanness, whatever it may be, contact with which makes him unclean;he does not notice it, then, realising it later, he becomes answerable for it;	3 Ou encore quelqu’un touche sans le savoir à une impureté humaine, à une impureté qui rend l’homme impur; dès qu’il l’apprend, il est en faute.
4 "or someone lets slip an oath to do something either evil or good, in any of those matters on whichsomeone may let slip an oath; he does not notice it, then, realising it later, he becomes answerable for it;	4 Ou encore quelqu’un a parlé sans réfléchir et a juré de faire du bien ou du mal, ou tout autre chose où l’homme peut parler sans réfléchir. Dès qu’il s’en rend compte il est en faute.
5 "if he is answerable in any of those cases, he wil have to confess the sin committed.	5 Celui donc qui est en faute pour une de ces choses confessera son péché.
6 As a sacrifice of reparation for the sin committed, he wil bring Yahweh a female from the flock (sheep orgoat) as a sacrifice for sin; and the priest wil perform the rite of expiation for him to free him from his sin.	6 Il offrira à Yahvé un sacrifice pour le péché qu’il a commis: une femelle de petit bétail, brebis ou chèvre. Ce sera son sacrifice pour le péché, et le prêtre fera sur lui l’expiation de son péché.
7 "If he cannot afford an animal from the flock as a sacrifice of reparation for the sin he has committed, hewil bring Yahweh two turtledoves or two young pigeons -- one as a sacrifice for sin and the other as a burntoffering.	7 S’il n’a pas le moyen de se procurer une brebis ou une chèvre, il offrira à Yahvé en sacrifice d’expiation, deux tourterelles ou deux jeunes pigeons: l’un pour le sacrifice pour le péché, l’autre pour l’holocauste.
8 He wil bring them to the priest who wil first offer the one intended for the sacrifice for sin. The priest wilwring its neck but not remove the head.	8 Il les apportera au prêtre. Celui-ci offrira la première victime en sacrifice pour le péché: le prêtre lui pincera le cou mais sans détacher la tête,
9 He wil sprinkle the side of the altar with the victim's blood, and then squeeze out the rest of the blood atthe foot of the altar. This is a sacrifice for sin.	9 il fera l’aspersion avec le sang de la victime contre l’autel, et le reste du sang sera versé au pied de l’autel.
10 He will then offer the other bird as a burnt offering according to the ritual. This is how the priest mustperform the rite of expiation for the person for the sin he has committed, and he will be forgiven.	10 Puis il prendra l’autre oiseau pour l’holocauste selon les rites de ce type de sacrifice. Le prêtre fera ainsi l’expiation du péché que cet homme a commis, et il sera pardonné.
11 "If he cannot afford two turtledoves or two young pigeons, he will bring a tenth of an ephah of wheatenflour as an offering for the sin committed; he must not mix oil with it or put incense on it, since this is a sacrificefor sin.	11 S’il n’a pas de quoi se procurer deux tourterelles ou deux jeunes pigeons, il offrira pour son péché un dixième de mesure de fleur de farine comme sacrifice pour le péché. Il ne mettra dessus ni huile, ni encens, car c’est un sacrifice pour le péché.
12 He will bring it to the priest, who wil take a handful of it as a memorial, and burn this on the altar inaddition to the offerings of food burnt for Yahweh. This is a sacrifice for sin.	12 Il l’apportera au prêtre; le prêtre en prendra une part et la fera fumer sur l’autel au nom de cet homme, il la posera sur les sacrifices par le feu pour Yahvé: c’est un sacrifice pour le péché.
13 This is how the priest must perform the rite of expiation for the person for the sin he has committed inany of those cases, and he wil be forgiven. In this case, the priest has the same rights as in the case of a cerealoffering." '	13 Le prêtre fera ainsi l’expiation du péché que cet homme a commis, et il sera pardonné. Ce qui restera de l’offrande, sera pour le prêtre.”
14 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:	14 Yahvé parla à Moïse et lui dit:
15 'If someone is unfaithful and sins inadvertently by infringing Yahweh's sacred rights, as a sacrifice ofreparation he must bring Yahweh an unblemished ram from his flock, the value of which wil be decided by youin silver shekels according to the rate of the sanctuary-shekel.	15 “Si quelqu’un pèche en retenant quelque chose par erreur sur les offrandes consacrées à Yahvé, il amènera à Yahvé, comme sacrifice de réparation, un bélier sans défaut de son troupeau, estimé par toi en sicles d’argent au cours du sicle du sanctuaire: ce sera un sacrifice de réparation.
16 He will make amends for what his sin subtracted from the sacred rights, adding one-fifth to the value,and give it to the priest. The priest wil then perform the rite of expiation for him with the ram for the sacrifice ofreparation and he wil be forgiven.	16 Il rendra ce dont il a privé le sanctuaire involontairement, et il ajoutera un cinquième en plus. Il donnera le tout au prêtre; le prêtre fera pour lui le rite de l’expiation avec le bélier offert en sacrifice de réparation, et il sera pardonné.
17 'If someone sins and without realising it does one of the things forbidden by Yahweh'scommandments, he will answer for it and bear the consequences of his guilt.	17 Si quelqu’un pèche en faisant involontairement une des choses que Yahvé a défendu de faire, il est en faute et porte le poids de son péché.
18 As a sacrifice of reparation he must bring the priest an unblemished ram from his flock to the valuewhich you decide, and the priest wil perform the rite of expiation for him for the oversight unwittingly committed,and he wil be forgiven.	18 Si tu le juges bon, il amènera au prêtre en sacrifice de réparation un bélier sans défaut provenant de son troupeau. Le prêtre fera pour lui l’expiation pour le péché qu’il a commis involontairement, sans s’en rendre compte, et il sera pardonné.
19 This is a sacrifice of reparation; the man was certainly answerable to Yahweh.'	19 C’est un sacrifice de réparation, car cet homme était certainement en faute au regard de Yahvé.”
20 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:	20 Yahvé parla à Moïse et lui dit:
21 'If someone sins and is unfaithful against Yahweh by deceiving his fel ow-countryman over a deposit ora security, or by withholding something due to him or by exploiting him;	21 “Ceci vaut pour la personne dont le péché est une infidélité envers Yahvé. Il a trompé son prochain au sujet d’un dépôt, d’un objet qu’on lui a confié ou d’une chose qu’il a volée, ou bien il a exploité son prochain;
22 'or if he finds lost property and denies it; 'or if he perjures himself about anything that a human beingmay do criminal y in such matters;	22 ou bien il a menti au sujet d’un objet perdu et qu’il a retrouvé; ou encore il a fait un faux serment au sujet de l’une des choses dans lesquelles l’homme peut pécher.
23 'if he sins and so becomes answerable, he must restore what he has taken or demanded in excess:the deposit confided to him, the lost property that he has found,	23 Cet homme qui aura péché et se sera rendu coupable, devra rendre la chose volée avec ou sans violence, ou bien le dépôt qui lui avait été remis, l’objet perdu qu’il a retrouvé, ou tout objet au sujet duquel il a prêté un faux serment.
24 or any object about which he has perjured himself. He will add one-fifth to the principal and pay thewhole to the person who held the property rights on the day when he incurred the guilt.	24 Il le rendra dans sa totalité en ajoutant un cinquième de la valeur de l’objet. Il le rendra à son propriétaire le jour même où il offrira le sacrifice de réparation.
25 He will then bring Yahweh an unblemished ram from his flock to the value which you decide, to thepriest as a sacrifice of reparation,	25 Si tu le juges bon, il amènera au prêtre de Yahvé comme sacrifice de réparation un bélier sans défaut de son troupeau.
26 and the priest wil perform the rite of expiation for him before Yahweh and he will be forgiven, whateverthe act by which he incurred guilt.'	26 Le prêtre fera pour lui l’expiation devant Yahvé, et il sera pardonné du péché qu’il a commis.”
