Leviticus 22

NEW JERUSALEM	JERUSALEM
1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:	1 Yahvé parla à Moïse et dit:
2 'Speak to Aaron and his sons. They must be consecrated by the holy offerings of the Israelites andmust not profane my holy name; for my sake they must sanctify it; I am Yahweh.	2 Parle à Aaron et à ses fils: qu'ils se consacrent par les saintes offrandes des Israélites sansprofaner mon saint nom; à cause de moi ils doivent le sanctifier. Je suis Yahvé.
3 Say to them: "Any one of your descendants, for al time, who in a state of uncleanness approaches theholy offerings consecrated to Yahweh by the Israelites, wil be outlawed from my presence. I am Yahweh.	3 Dis-leur: Tout homme de votre descendance, à quelque génération que ce soit, qui s'approcheraen état d'impureté des saintes offrandes consacrées à Yahvé par les Israélites, cet homme-là sera retranché de maprésence. Je suis Yahvé.
4 "Anyone of Aaron's line who is afflicted with a contagious skin-disease or a discharge will not eat holythings until he is clean. Anyone who touches anything made unclean by a dead body, or who has a seminaldischarge,	4 Tout homme de la descendance d'Aaron qui sera atteint de lèpre ou d'écoulement ne mangera pasdes choses saintes avant d'être purifié. Celui qui aura touché tout ce qu'un cadavre aura rendu impur, celui quiaura émis du liquide séminal,
5 or who is made unclean by touching any kind of reptile or any one who has contaminated him with hisown uncleanness, be it what it may,	5 celui qui aura touché n'importe quelle bestiole et se sera ainsi rendu impur, ou un homme quil'aura contaminé de sa propre impureté, quelle qu'elle soit,
6 in short, anyone who has had any such contact wil be unclean until evening, and must not eat holythings until he has washed his body.	6 bref quiconque aura eu de tels contacts sera impur jusqu'au soir et ne pourra manger des chosessaintes qu'après s'être lavé le corps avec de l'eau.
7 At sunset he wil be clean and may then eat holy things, for these are his food.	7 Au coucher du soleil il sera purifié et pourra manger ensuite des choses saintes, car c'est là sanourriture.
8 "He must not eat an animal that has died a natural death or been savaged; he would contractuncleanness from it. I am Yahweh.	8 Il ne mangera pas de bête morte ou déchirée, il en contracterait l'impureté. Je suis Yahvé.
9 "They must keep my rules and not burden themselves with sin. If they profane them, they will incurdeath; I, Yahweh, have sanctified them.	9 Qu'ils gardent mes observances et ne se chargent pas d'un péché: ils mourraient en les profanant,c'est moi Yahvé qui les ai sanctifiées.
10 "No lay person may eat anything holy; no guest or employee of a priest may eat anything holy.	10 Aucun laïc ne mangera d'une chose sainte: ni l'hôte d'un prêtre ni le serviteur à gages nemangeront d'une chose sainte.
11 But if the priest has acquired a slave by purchase, the slave may eat it like anyone born in hishousehold; they will share his food.	11 Mais si un prêtre acquiert une personne à prix d'argent, celle-ci en pourra manger comme celuiqui est né dans sa maison; ils mangent en effet sa propre nourriture.
12 "If a priest's daughter marries a layman, she will have no share in the holy things set aside,	12 Si la fille d'un prêtre est devenue l'épouse d'un laïc, elle ne peut manger des prélèvementssacrés;
13 but if she is widowed or divorced and, being childless, has had to return to her father's house aswhen she was young, she may share her father's food. No lay person may share it;	13 mais si elle est devenue veuve ou a été répudiée et que, n'ayant pas d'enfant, elle ait dûretourner à la maison de son père comme au temps de sa jeunesse, elle mangera de la nourriture de son père. Nullaïc n'en mangera:
14 anyone who does eat a holy thing by inadvertence, wil restore it to the priest with one-fifth added.	14 si un homme mange par inadvertance une chose sainte, il la restituera au prêtre avec majorationd'un cinquième.
15 "They may not profane the holy offerings which the Israelites have set aside for Yahweh.	15 Ils ne profaneront point les saintes offrandes qu'ont prélevées les Israélites pour Yahvé.
16 By eating these, they would burden them with guilt requiring a sacrifice of reparation; for I, Yahweh, have sanctified these offerings." '	16 En les mangeant ils chargeraient ceux-ci d'une faute qui obligerait à réparation, car c'est moiYahvé qui ai sanctifié ces offrandes.
17 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:	17 Yahvé parla à Moïse et dit:
18 'Speak to Aaron, to his sons, and to al the Israelites and say: "Any member of the House of Israel orany alien resident in Israel who brings an offering either in payment of a vow or as a voluntary gift, and offers itas a burnt offering to Yahweh,	18 Parle à Aaron, à ses fils, à tous les Israélites; tu leur diras: Tout homme de la maison d'Israël, outout étranger résidant en Israël, qui apporte son offrande à titre de voeu ou de don volontaire et en fait unholocauste pour Yahvé,
19 must, if he is to be acceptable, offer an unblemished male, be it bul or sheep or goat.	19 devra pour être agréé offrir un mâle sans défaut, taureau, mouton ou chevreau.
20 You wil not offer anything with a blemish, for it would not make you acceptable.	20 Vous n'en offrirez point qui ait une tare, car il ne vous ferait pas agréer.
21 "If anyone offers Yahweh a communion sacrifice, either to fulfil a vow or as a voluntary offering, theanimal, be it from the herd or flock, must be perfect, if he is to be acceptable; it must be unblemished.	21 Si quelqu'un offre à Yahvé un sacrifice de communion pour s'acquitter d'un voeu ou pour faireun don volontaire, de gros ou de petit bétail, l'animal devra, pour être agréé, être sans défaut; il ne s'y trouveraaucune tare.
22 You wil not offer Yahweh any animal which is blind, lame, mutilated, ulcerous, scabby or covered insores. No part of such an animal wil be offered on the altar as food burnt for Yahweh.	22 Vous n'offrirez pas à Yahvé d'animal aveugle, estropié, mutilé, ulcéreux, dartreux ou purulent.Aucune partie de tels animaux ne sera déposée sur l'autel à titre de mets pour Yahvé.
23 As a voluntary offering, you may offer a bul or a lamb that is underdeveloped or deformed; but suchwil not be acceptable in payment of a vow.	23 Tu pourras faire le don volontaire d'une pièce naine ou difforme en gros ou en petit bétail, maispour l'acquittement d'un voeu elle ne sera point agréée.
24 You wil not offer Yahweh an animal if its testicles have been bruised, crushed, torn or cut off. Youmay not do that in your country,	24 Vous n'offrirez pas à Yahvé un animal dont les testicules soient rentrés, écrasés, arrachés oucoupés. Vous ne ferez pas cela dans votre pays
25 and you may not accept any such from the hands of a stranger, to be offered as food for your God.Their deformity is a blemish, and they would not make you acceptable." '	25 et vous n'accepterez rien de tel de la main d'un étranger pour l'offrir comme nourriture de votreDieu. Leur difformité est en effet une tare et ces victimes ne vous feraient pas agréer.
26 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:	26 Yahvé parla à Moïse et dit:
27 'A calf, lamb, or kid will stay with its dam for seven days after being born. From the eighth dayonwards, it wil be acceptable as food burnt for Yahweh.	27 Une fois né, un veau, un agneau ou un chevreau restera sept jours auprès de sa mère. Dès lehuitième il pourra être agréé comme mets offert à Yahvé.
28 But no animal, whether cow or ewe, wil be slaughtered on the same day as its young.	28 Veau ou agneau, vous n'immolerez pas le même jour un animal et son petit.
29 'If you offer Yahweh a sacrifice with praise, do it in the acceptable manner;	29 Si vous faites à Yahvé un sacrifice avec louange, faites-le de manière à être agréés:
30 it must be eaten the same day; you wil leave nothing over til next morning. I am Yahweh.	30 on le mangera le jour même sans en rien laisser jusqu'au lendemain matin. Je suis Yahvé.
31 'You wil keep my commands and put them into practice. I am Yahweh.	31 Vous garderez mes commandements et les mettrez en pratique. Je suis Yahvé.
32 You wil not profane my holy name -- so that I may be honoured as holy among the Israelites, I,Yahweh, who make you holy,	32 Vous ne profanerez pas mon saint nom, afin que je sois sanctifié au milieu des Israélites, moiYahvé qui vous sanctifie.
33 I who brought you out of Egypt, to be your God, I, Yahweh.'	33 Moi qui vous ai fait sortir du pays d'Egypte afin d'être votre Dieu, je suis Yahvé.
