Leviticus 22

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:	1 El Señor dijo a Moisés:
2 'Speak to Aaron and his sons. They must be consecrated by the holy offerings of the Israelites andmust not profane my holy name; for my sake they must sanctify it; I am Yahweh.	2 Instruye a Aarón y a sus hijos, para que tengan mucho cuidado con los dones sagrados que me consagran los israelitas, no sea que profanen mi santo Nombre. Yo soy el Señor.
3 Say to them: "Any one of your descendants, for al time, who in a state of uncleanness approaches theholy offerings consecrated to Yahweh by the Israelites, wil be outlawed from my presence. I am Yahweh.	3 Por eso, diles lo siguiente: Si alguno de sus descendientes, en cualquier generación, participa en estado de impureza de los dones sagrados que los israelitas consagran al Señor, será excluido de mi presencia. Yo soy el Señor.
4 "Anyone of Aaron's line who is afflicted with a contagious skin-disease or a discharge will not eat holythings until he is clean. Anyone who touches anything made unclean by a dead body, or who has a seminaldischarge,	4 Ningún descendiente de Aarón que sea leproso o padezca de blenorrea, podrá comer de los dones sagrados hasta que quede purificado. Si alguien toca lo que se ha vuelto impuro a causa de un cadáver, o si tiene una eyaculación,
5 or who is made unclean by touching any kind of reptile or any one who has contaminated him with hisown uncleanness, be it what it may,	5 o si toca algún animal o algún ser humano que lo hace impuro –cualquiera sea la clase de impureza–
6 in short, anyone who has had any such contact wil be unclean until evening, and must not eat holythings until he has washed his body.	6 si alguien toca algo de eso, será impuro hasta la tarde y no comerá de las cosas sagradas sin lavarse antes con agua.
7 At sunset he wil be clean and may then eat holy things, for these are his food.	7 Al ponerse el sol quedará puro, y entonces podrá comer de las cosas sagradas, porque son su alimento.
8 "He must not eat an animal that has died a natural death or been savaged; he would contractuncleanness from it. I am Yahweh.	8 No comerá ningún animal muerto o despedazado por las fieras, porque de lo contrario incurriría en impureza. Yo soy el Señor.
9 "They must keep my rules and not burden themselves with sin. If they profane them, they will incurdeath; I, Yahweh, have sanctified them.	9 Que observen mis prescripciones, no sea que carguen con un pecado a causa del alimento, y mueran por haberlo profanado. Yo soy el Señor, que los santifico.
10 "No lay person may eat anything holy; no guest or employee of a priest may eat anything holy.	10 Ningún extraño podrá comer de las cosas sagradas, ni tampoco lo harán el huésped o el jornalero de un sacerdote.
11 But if the priest has acquired a slave by purchase, the slave may eat it like anyone born in hishousehold; they will share his food.	11 Pero si un sacerdote adquiere con su dinero un esclavo, este podrá comer de las cosas sagradas; y también los esclavos nacidos en su casa podrán comer de su pan.
12 "If a priest's daughter marries a layman, she will have no share in the holy things set aside,	12 Si la hija de un sacerdote se casa con alguien que no es sacerdote, ella no podrá comer de las ofrendas sagradas.
13 but if she is widowed or divorced and, being childless, has had to return to her father's house aswhen she was young, she may share her father's food. No lay person may share it;	13 Pero si la hija de un sacerdote queda viuda o es repudiada y, no teniendo hijos, vuelve a la casa de su padre como en su juventud, podrá comer del pan de su padre. Ningún extraño comerá de él;
14 anyone who does eat a holy thing by inadvertence, wil restore it to the priest with one-fifth added.	14 y si alguien, por inadvertencia, come de una ofrenda sagrada, deberá restituirla al sacerdote, añadiendo además una quinta parte de su valor.
15 "They may not profane the holy offerings which the Israelites have set aside for Yahweh.	15 Los sacerdotes no permitirán que los israelitas profanen los dones sagrados que ellos reservan para el Señor,
16 By eating these, they would burden them with guilt requiring a sacrifice of reparation; for I, Yahweh, have sanctified these offerings." '	16 o que carguen con un pecado que exige una reparación, por comer esos dones sagrados. Porque yo soy el Señor, que los santifico.
17 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:	17 El Señor dijo a Moisés:
18 'Speak to Aaron, to his sons, and to al the Israelites and say: "Any member of the House of Israel orany alien resident in Israel who brings an offering either in payment of a vow or as a voluntary gift, and offers itas a burnt offering to Yahweh,	18 Habla en estos término a Aarón y a sus hijos, y a todos los israelitas: Si un hombre de la casa de Israel, o alguno de los extranjero residentes en Israel presenta su ofrenda al señor para un holocausto –ya sea en cumplimiento de un voto o como ofrenda voluntaria–
19 must, if he is to be acceptable, offer an unblemished male, be it bul or sheep or goat.	19 para que esa ofrenda le sea aceptada, tendrá que ser buey, oveja o cabra, macho y sin defecto.
20 You wil not offer anything with a blemish, for it would not make you acceptable.	20 No ofrezcan nada que tenga algún defecto, porque no les será aceptado.
21 "If anyone offers Yahweh a communion sacrifice, either to fulfil a vow or as a voluntary offering, theanimal, be it from the herd or flock, must be perfect, if he is to be acceptable; it must be unblemished.	21 Y si alguien –sea en cumplimiento de un voto especial o como ofrenda voluntaria– presenta al Señor en sacrificio de comunión un animal del ganado mayor o menor, para que esa ofrenda le sea aceptada, tendrá que ser sin defecto: no habrá en ella ninguna imperfección.
22 You wil not offer Yahweh any animal which is blind, lame, mutilated, ulcerous, scabby or covered insores. No part of such an animal wil be offered on the altar as food burnt for Yahweh.	22 No deberán ofrecer ni presentar como ofrenda que se quema para el Señor ningún animal ciego, estropeado o mutilado, ulcerado, sarnoso o purulento.
23 As a voluntary offering, you may offer a bul or a lamb that is underdeveloped or deformed; but suchwil not be acceptable in payment of a vow.	23 En cambio, podrán ofrecer como ofrenda voluntaria un buey o una oveja con un miembro demasiado largo o demasiado corto; pero no les será aceptado en cumplimiento de un voto.
24 You wil not offer Yahweh an animal if its testicles have been bruised, crushed, torn or cut off. Youmay not do that in your country,	24 Tampoco ofrecerán animales con los testículos aplastados, destrozados, arrancados o cortados. No harán nada de esto en su tierra,
25 and you may not accept any such from the hands of a stranger, to be offered as food for your God.Their deformity is a blemish, and they would not make you acceptable." '	25 ni aceptarán estos animales a los extranjeros para ofrecerlos como alimento de su Dios, porque en ellos hay una deformidad y tienen un defecto. Por eso no les serán aceptados.
26 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:	26 El Señor dijo a Moisés:
27 'A calf, lamb, or kid will stay with its dam for seven days after being born. From the eighth dayonwards, it wil be acceptable as food burnt for Yahweh.	27 Cuando nazca un ternero, un cordero o un cabrito, estará siete días con su madre, y a partir del octavo será aceptado como ofrenda que se quema para el Señor.
28 But no animal, whether cow or ewe, wil be slaughtered on the same day as its young.	28 Pero no inmolarán ningún animal del ganado mayor o menor junto con su cría, en un mismo día.
29 'If you offer Yahweh a sacrifice with praise, do it in the acceptable manner;	29 Cuando ofrezcan al Señor un sacrificio de acción de gracias, háganlo de tal manera que les sea aceptado.
30 it must be eaten the same day; you wil leave nothing over til next morning. I am Yahweh.	30 Será comido ese mismo día; no dejarán nada para el día siguiente. Yo soy el Señor.
31 'You wil keep my commands and put them into practice. I am Yahweh.	31 Observen fielmente mis mandamientos. Yo soy el Señor.
32 You wil not profane my holy name -- so that I may be honoured as holy among the Israelites, I,Yahweh, who make you holy,	32 No profanen mi santo Nombre, para que yo sea santificado en medio de los israelitas. Yo soy el Señor, que los santifico,
33 I who brought you out of Egypt, to be your God, I, Yahweh.'	33 el que los hizo salir de Egipto para ser su Dios. Yo soy el señor.
