Isaiah 9

NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light; on the inhabitants of a country in shadowdark as death light has blazed forth.	1 Il popolo che camminava nelle tenebre vide una grande luce; sugli abitanti in paese tenebroso risplendette una luce.
2 You have enlarged the nation, you have increased its joy; they rejoice before you as people rejoice atharvest time, as they exult when they are dividing the spoils.	2 Hai moltiplicato la gioia, hai causato grande letizia. Gioiscono al tuo cospetto, come si gioisce alla mietitura, come si esulta quando si divide la preda.
3 For the yoke that weighed on it, the bar across its shoulders, the rod of its oppressor, these you havebroken as on the day of Midian.	3 Poiché il suo giogo opprimente, la verga sopra le sue spalle, il bastone del suo sorvegliante tu hai spezzato come nel giorno di Madian.

6 to extend his dominion in boundless peace, over the throne of David and over his kingdom to make itsecure and sustain it in fair judgement and integrity. From this time onwards and for ever, the jealous love ofYahweh Sabaoth wil do this.	6 per accrescere la potenza e per una pace senza fine, sul trono di Davide e sul suo regno, per stabilirlo e rafforzarlo mediante il diritto e la giustizia da ora fino in eterno. L'ardore del Signore degli eserciti farà questo.
7 The Lord has launched a word at Jacob and it has fal en on Israel;	7 Il Signore inviò una parola contro Giacobbe ed essa cadde sopra Israele.
