Isaiah 9

NEW JERUSALEM	JERUSALEM
1 The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light; on the inhabitants of a country in shadowdark as death light has blazed forth.	1 Le peuple qui marchait dans les ténèbres a vu une grande lumière, sur les habitants du sombre pays,une lumière a resplendi.
2 You have enlarged the nation, you have increased its joy; they rejoice before you as people rejoice atharvest time, as they exult when they are dividing the spoils.	2 Tu as multiplié la nation, tu as fait croître sa joie; ils se réjouissent devant toi comme on se réjouit à lamoisson, comme on exulte au partage du butin.
3 For the yoke that weighed on it, the bar across its shoulders, the rod of its oppressor, these you havebroken as on the day of Midian.	3 Car le joug qui pesait sur elle, la barre posée sur ses épaules, le bâton de son oppresseur, tu les as briséscomme au jour de Madiân.
4 For al the footgear clanking over the ground and al the clothing rolled in blood, wil be burnt, wil be foodfor the flames.	4 Car toute chaussure qui résonne sur le sol, tout manteau roulé dans le sang, seront mis à brûler, dévoréspar le feu.

6 to extend his dominion in boundless peace, over the throne of David and over his kingdom to make itsecure and sustain it in fair judgement and integrity. From this time onwards and for ever, the jealous love ofYahweh Sabaoth wil do this.	6 pour que s'étende le pouvoir dans une paix sans fin sur le trône de David et sur son royaume, pourl'établir et pour l'affermir dans le droit et la justice. Dès maintenant et à jamais, l'amour jaloux de Yahvé Sabaotfera cela.

16 Hence the Lord wil no longer take delight in their young people, or pity on their orphans and widows,since al of them are godless and evil, and everything they say is madness. After al this, his anger is not spent.No, his hand is still raised!	16 C'est pourquoi en ses jeunes gens le Seigneur ne trouvera plus sa joie, de ses orphelins et de sesveuves il n'aura plus pitié, car tous sont impies et malfaisants, toute bouche profère l'insanité. Avec tout cela sacolère ne s'est pas détournée, sa main reste levée.
17 Yes, wickedness has been burning like a fire, devouring bramble and thorn-bush, setting the forestthickets ablaze -- up they go in bil owing smoke!	17 Oui, la méchanceté a brûlé comme le feu, elle dévore ronces et épines, elle a incendié les halliers dela forêt, ils se sont élevés en tourbillons de fumée.
18 The country has been set on fire by the fury of Yahweh Sabaoth, and the people are like food for theflames. No one spares a thought for his brother.	18 Par l'emportement de Yahvé Sabaot la terre a été brûlée et le peuple est comme la proie du feu. Nuln'a pitié de son frère,
19 They have sliced to the right and are stil hungry, they have eaten to the left and are not satisfied; eachdevours the flesh of his own arm.	19 on a coupé à droite et on a eu faim, on a mangé à gauche et on n'a pas été rassasié. Chacun dévore lachair de son bras,
