Isaiah 9

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light; on the inhabitants of a country in shadowdark as death light has blazed forth.	1 El pueblo que caminaba en las tinieblas ha visto una gran luz: sobre los que habitaban en el país de la oscuridad ha brillado una luz.
2 You have enlarged the nation, you have increased its joy; they rejoice before you as people rejoice atharvest time, as they exult when they are dividing the spoils.	2 Tú has multiplicado la alegría, has acrecentado el gozo; ellos se regocijan en tu presencia, como se goza en la cosecha, como cuando reina la alegría por el reparto del botín.

5 For a son has been born for us, a son has been given to us, and dominion has been laid on hisshoulders; and this is the name he has been given, 'Wonder-Counsel or, Mighty-God, Eternal-Father, Prince-of-Peace'	5 Porque un niño nos ha nacido, un hijo nos ha sido dado. La soberanía reposa sobre sus hombros y se le da por nombre: «Consejero maravilloso, Dios fuerte, Padre para siempre, Príncipe de la paz».
6 to extend his dominion in boundless peace, over the throne of David and over his kingdom to make itsecure and sustain it in fair judgement and integrity. From this time onwards and for ever, the jealous love ofYahweh Sabaoth wil do this.	6 Su soberanía será grande, y habrá una paz sin fin para el trono de David y para su reino; él lo establecerá y lo sostendrá por el derecho y la justicia, desde ahora y para siempre. El celo del Señor de los ejércitos hará todo esto.
7 The Lord has launched a word at Jacob and it has fal en on Israel;	7 El Señor ha enviado una palabra a Jacob. Ella caerá sobre Israel:
8 and the people will al soon know it, Ephraim and the inhabitants of Samaria, who say in the pride of theirarrogant hearts,	8 la conocerá el pueblo entero, Efraím y los habitantes de Samaría, esos que andan diciendo con arrogancia y presunción:

10 But, against them, Yahweh has raised their foe Razon, he has whipped up their enemies,	10 El Señor suscitó contra él a sus adversarios e incitó a sus enemigos.

After al this, his anger is not spent.No, his hand is still raised!	16 Por eso el Señor no perdona a sus jóvenes ni se compadece de sus huérfanos y de sus viudas, porque todo este pueblo es impío y malvado y toda boca profiere insensateces. 17 Yes, wickedness has been burning like a fire, devouring bramble and thorn-bush, setting the forestthickets ablaze -- up they go in bil owing smoke!	17 Porque la maldad quema como el fuego, devora cardos y espinas, arde en las espesuras del bosque, y el humo se alza en torbellinos.
18 The country has been set on fire by the fury of Yahweh Sabaoth, and the people are like food for theflames. No one spares a thought for his brother.	18 Por el furor del Señor de los ejércitos se incendia el país, y el pueblo es como pasto del fuego. Nadie se compadece de su hermano,
