Isaiah 65

NEW JERUSALEM	SAGRADA BIBLIA
1 I have let myself be approached by those who did not consult me, I have let myself be found by thosewho did not seek me. I said, 'Here I am, here I am!' to a nation that did not invoke my name.	1 Mantive-me à disposição das pessoas que não me consultavam, ofereci-me àqueles que não me procuravam. Eis-me aqui, eis-me aqui, dizia eu a um povo que não invocava meu nome.
2 Each day I stretched out my hands to a rebel ious people who fol ow a way which is not good, as thefancy takes them;	2 Estendia constantemente as mãos a uma nação indócil e rebelde, que seguia o mau caminho de acordo com suas inclinações;
3 a people constantly provoking me to my face by sacrificing in gardens, burning incense on bricks,	3 há pessoas que não cessam de provocar-me diretamente, que sacrificam nos jardins, e queimam perfumes em cima de tijolos,
4 living in tombs, spending the night in dark corners, eating the meat of pigs, putting unclean foods ontheir plates.	4 que se instalam nos túmulos, e passam a noite em antros, que comem carne de porco, e guarnecem seus pratos de alimentos imundos;
5 'Keep your distance,' they say, 'do not touch me, lest my sanctity come near you!' Such words are likestifling smoke to me, an ever-burning fire.	5 Mantém-te à distância, dizem eles, não me toques, porque eu te santificaria. Tudo isso me enche as narinas da fumaça, de um fogo que queima sempre.
6 Look, it is inscribed before me: I shal not be silent until I have repaid them, repaid them in ful ,	6 Pois bem, eis a decisão que tomei: não me calarei enquanto não os fizer expiar
7 punished your guilt and your ancestors' guilt together, Yahweh declares. For having burnt incense onthe mountains and insulted me on the hil s, I shal pay them back in ful for what they have done.	7 suas iniqüidades e as de seus pais, que queimavam o incenso nas montanhas, e me ultrajavam nas colinas. Vou calcular o salário deles, e lançá-lo em seu próprio seio.
8 Yahweh says this: As when a bunch of grapes is found stil to have juice in it, people say, 'Do notdestroy it, for it contains a blessing,' so I shall act for my servants' sake, I shal not destroy them all.	8 Eis o que diz o Senhor: quando se encontra sumo num cacho de uvas, diz-se: Não o destruam, há aí uma bênção. Assim, por amor a meus servos, em lugar de destruir tudo,
9 I shal produce descendants from Jacob and heirs to my mountains from Judah, my chosen ones wilown them and my servants wil live there.	9 tirarei de Jacó uma raça, e de Judá um herdeiro de minhas montanhas; meus eleitos as possuirão, e meus servos aí viverão.
10 Sharon wil be a pasture for flocks, the Val ey of Achor a feeding ground for cattle, for those of mypeople who have sought me.	10 Saron servirá de pastagem ao rebanho miúdo, e no vale de Acor espojar-se-ão os bois {para o povo que me tiver procurado}.
11 But as for those of you who abandon Yahweh, who forget my holy mountain, who lay the table forGad, who fil cups of mixed wine for Meni,	11 Quanto a vós, desertores do Senhor, que haveis esquecido meu monte santo, que preparais a mesa para Gad, e encheis a taça de vinho aromatizado para Meni,
12 you I shal destine to the sword and al of you wil stoop to be slaughtered, because I cal ed and youwould not answer, I spoke and you would not listen; you have done what I consider evil, you chose to do whatdispleases me.	12 à espada eu vos destino; todos vós vos curvareis para serdes degolados, porque quando eu chamava, não respondíeis; quando falava, vos fazíeis de surdos; praticáveis o que eu acho ruim, e escolhíeis o que me desagrada.
13 Therefore Lord Yahweh says this: You will see my servants eating while you go hungry; you will seemy servants drinking while you go thirsty; you wil see my servants rejoicing while you are put to shame;	13 Portanto, eis o que diz o Senhor Deus: meus servos comerão e vós tereis fome, meus servos beberão e vós tereis sede, meus servos se rejubilarão e vós ficareis envergonhados,
14 you will hear my servants shouting for joy of heart, while you shriek for sorrow of heart and howl with abroken spirit.	14 meus servos cantarão na alegria de seu coração, e vós vos lamentareis com o coração angustiado, rugireis com a alma em desespero.
15 And you wil leave your name behind as a curse for my chosen ones, 'May Lord Yahweh strike youdead!' But to his servants he wil give another name.	15 Vosso nome ficará como um termo de maldição entre meus eleitos: {Que o Senhor Deus te faça morrer!} enquanto meus servos receberão um novo nome.
16 Whoever blesses himself on earth wil bless himself by the God of truth, and whoever swears an oathon earth will swear by the God of truth, for past troubles will be forgotten and hidden from my eyes.	16 Aquele que desejar ser abençoado na terra, desejará sê-lo pelo Deus fiel, e aquele que jurar na terra, jurará pelo Deus fiel, porque as desgraças de outrora serão esquecidas, já não lhes volverão ao espírito.
17 For look, I am going to create new heavens and a new earth, and the past will not be rememberedand will come no more to mind.	17 Pois eu vou criar novos céus, e uma nova terra; o passado já não será lembrado, já não volverá ao espírito,
18 Rather be joyful, be glad for ever at what I am creating, for look, I am creating Jerusalem to be 'Joy'and my people to be 'Gladness'.	18 mas será experimentada a alegria e a felicidade eterna daquilo que vou criar. Pois vou criar uma Jerusalém destinada à alegria, e seu povo ao júbilo;
19 I shal be joyful in Jerusalem and I shal rejoice in my people. No more will the sound of weeping beheard there, nor the sound of a shriek;	19 Jerusalém me alegrará, e meu povo me rejubilará; doravante já não se ouvirá aí o ruído de soluços nem de gritos.
20 never again wil there be an infant there who lives only a few days, nor an old man who does not runhis ful course; for the youngest wil die at a hundred, and at a hundred the sinner wil be accursed.	20 Já não morrerá aí nenhum menino, nem ancião que não haja completado seus dias; será ainda jovem o que morrer aos cem anos: não atingir cem anos será uma maldição.
21 They will build houses and live in them, they wil plant vineyards and eat their fruit.	21 Serão construídas casas onde habitarão, serão plantadas vinhas cujos frutos comerão.
22 They will not build for others to live in, or plant for others to eat; for the days of my people wil be likethe days of a tree, and my chosen ones wil themselves use what they have made.	22 Não mais se construirá para que outro se instale; não mais se plantará para que outro se alimente. Os filhos de meu povo durarão tanto quanto as árvores, e meus eleitos gozarão do trabalho de suas mãos.
23 They will not toil in vain, nor bear children destined to disaster, for they are the race of Yahweh'sblessed ones and so are their offspring.	23 Não trabalharão mais em vão, não darão mais à luz filhos votados a uma morte repentina, porque serão a raça abençoada pelo Senhor, eles e seus descendentes.
24 Thus, before they cal I shal answer, before they stop speaking I shal have heard.	24 Antes mesmo que me chamem, eu lhes responderei; estarão ainda falando e já serão atendidos.
25 The wolf and the young lamb wil feed together, the lion wil eat hay like the ox, and dust be theserpent's food. No hurt, no harm wil be done on al my holy mountain, Yahweh says.	25 O lobo e o cordeiro pastarão juntos, o leão, como um boi, se alimentará de palha, e a serpente comerá terra. Nenhum mal nem desordem alguma será cometida, em todo o meu monte santo, diz o Senhor.
