Isaiah 30

NEW JERUSALEM	SAGRADA BIBLIA
1 Woe to the rebel ious children -- declares Yahweh -- who make plans which do not come from me andmake al iances not inspired by me, and so add sin to sin!	1 Ai dos filhos rebeldes, diz o Senhor, eles seguem um plano que não vem de mim. Concluem alianças sem o meu consentimento, acumulando, assim, falta sobre falta.
2 They are leaving for Egypt, without consulting me, to take refuge in Pharaoh's protection, to shelter inEgypt's shadow.	2 Eles se voltam para o Egito sem me consultar, para refugiar-se sob a proteção do faraó, para abrigar-se à sombra do Egito.
3 Pharaoh's protection will be your shame, the shelter of Egypt's shadow your confounding.	3 O apoio do faraó ser-vos-á decepção e o abrigo à sombra do Egito, uma ignomínia.
4 For his princes have gone to Zoan and his messengers have reached Hanes.	4 Ainda que os chefes estejam em Soã e que os embaixadores tenham atingido Hanes,
5 Everyone has been disappointed by a people who cannot help, who bring neither aid nor profit, onlydisappointment and confusion.	5 todo mundo será enganado por esse povo inútil, que não dá nem auxílio nem socorro, e só causa decepção e opróbrio.
6 Proclamation about the beasts of the Negeb: Into the land of distress and of anguish, of lioness androaring lion, of viper and flying dragon, they bear their riches on donkeys' backs, their treasures on camels'humps, to a nation that cannot help:	6 {Oráculo contra as feras do sul}: Para a terra da tribulação e da angústia, de onde vêm o leão e a leoa, a víbora e o dragão voador, conduzirão as riquezas sobre o dorso de jumentos, e os tesouros sobre a corcova de camelos, para ofertá-los a um povo que não lhes serve de nada.
7 Egypt, whose help is vain and futile; and so I cal her 'Rahab -the-collapsed'.	7 O socorro do Egito é ineficaz e nulo por isso eu o chamo Raab, o inerte.
8 Now go, inscribe this on a tablet, write it on a scrol , so that it may serve for time to come for ever andfor ever.	8 Agora, pois, vai escrever estas coisas numa prancheta, inscreve-as num livro, a fim de que isso permaneça para o futuro e seja um testemunho eterno.
9 This is a rebellious people, they are lying children, children who will not listen to Yahweh's Law.	9 Porque este é um povo rebelde, são filhos mentirosos, filhos que se recusam a ouvir as instruções do Senhor.
10 To the seers they say, 'See nothing!' To the prophets, 'Do not prophesy the truth to us; tel us flatteringthings; have illusory visions;	10 E dizem aos videntes: Não vejais, e aos profetas: Não nos anuncieis a verdade, dizei-nos coisas agradáveis, profetizai-nos fantasias.
11 turn aside from the way, leave the path, rid us of the Holy One of Israel.'	11 Afastai-vos do caminho, retirai-vos da vereda, deixai de colocar-nos sob os olhos do Santo de Israel.
12 So the Holy One of Israel says this, 'Since you have rejected this word and put your trust in fraud anddisloyalty and rely on these,	12 Por isso, eis a réplica do Santo de Israel: Visto que rejeitais esta advertência, para fiar-vos de meios tortuosos e perversos, e procurar aí vosso apoio,
13 for you this guilt will prove to be a breach opening up, a bulge at the top of a wal which suddenly andal at once comes crashing down.	13 acontecerá para vós, por causa desse crime, como uma fenda que forma saliência numa muralha elevada: de improviso e num instante sobrevém o desabamento;
14 He wil shatter it like an earthenware pot, ruthlessly knocking it to pieces, so that of the fragments notone shard can be found with which to take up fire from the hearth or scoop water from the storage-wel .'	14 quebra-se como um pote de barro despedaçado sem piedade, de modo que os destroços não ofereçam sequer um caco para apanhar brasas no fogão ou tirar água da cisterna.
15 For Lord Yahweh, the Holy One of Israel, says this, 'Your salvation lay in conversion and tranquil ity,your strength in serenity and trust and you would have none of it.	15 Porque aqui está o que disse o Senhor Deus, o Santo de Israel: É na conversão e na calma que está a vossa salvação; é no repouso e na confiança que reside a vossa força. Porém, sem nada querer ouvir,
16 "No," you said, "we shall flee on horses." And so flee you wil ! And again, "We shal ride on swift ones." And so your pursuers will be swift!	16 vós dissestes: Não, galoparemos a cavalo - pois bem, fugireis, portanto; montaremos corcéis ligeiros - pois bem, sereis perseguidos numa corrida veloz.
17 A thousand wil quake at the threat of one and when five threaten you will flee, until what is left of youwil be like a flagstaff on a mountain top, like a signal on a hil .'	17 {Mil fugirão à ameaça de um só}, à ameaça de cinco inimigos, deitar-vos-eis a fugir até que não subsista mais do que um vestígio {escasso}, como um mastro no cume de um monte, como um estandarte sobre uma colina.
18 But Yahweh is waiting to be gracious to you, the Exalted One, to take pity on you, for Yahweh is aGod of fair judgement; blessed are al who hope in him.	18 É por isso que o Senhor está desejoso de vos perdoar; é por isso que ele se ergue para vos poupar; porque o Senhor é um Deus justo; ditosos aqueles que nele esperam.
19 Yes, people of Zion living in Jerusalem, you will weep no more. He wil be gracious to you when yourcry for help rings out; as soon as he hears it, he will answer you.	19 Sim, povo de Sião, que habitas em Jerusalém, não terás mais de que chorar. À voz de tua súplica ele te fará misericórdia; assim que a ouvir, ele te atenderá.
20 When the Lord has given you the bread of suffering and the water of distress, he who is your teacherwil hide no longer, and you wil see your teacher with your own eyes.	20 {Quando o Senhor vos tiver dado o pão da angústia e a água da tribulação} aquele que te instrui não se esconderá mais, e verás com teus olhos aquele que te ensina.
21 Your ears wil hear these words behind you, 'This is the way, keep to it,' whether you turn to right orleft.	21 Ouvirás com teus ouvidos estas palavras retumbarem atrás de ti: É aqui o caminho, andai por ele, quando te desviares quer para a direita, quer para a esquerda.
22 You wil hold unclean the silverplating of your idols and the goldplating of your images. You wil throwthem away like the pol uted things they are, shouting after them, 'Good riddance!'	22 Acharás imundo o revestimento de prata de teus ídolos esculpidos e as aplicações de ouro de tuas estátuas fundidas: arrojá-los-ás como imundícies, gritando-lhes: Fora daqui!
23 He wil send rain for the seed you sow in the ground, and the bread that the ground provides wil berich and nourishing. That day, your cattle will graze in wide pastures.	23 {O Senhor} dará chuvas às sementes com que proverdes o solo e o pão que produzir a terra será nutritivo e saboroso. Naquele dia teu gado pastará em vastas pastagens;
24 Oxen and donkeys that work the land will eat for fodder wild sorrel, spread by the shovel-load andfork-load.	24 os bois e os asnos, que trabalham a terra, comerão uma forragem salgada que será joeirada com a pá e com a peneira.
25 On every lofty mountain, on every high hil there wil be streams and water-courses, on the day of thegreat slaughter when the strongholds fal .	25 Então, em todo monte alto e em toda colina elevada haverá arroios de água corrente, no dia da grande mortandade, em que desabarão as fortalezas.
26 Then moonlight will be bright as sunlight and sunlight itself be seven times brighter -- like the light ofseven days in one -- on the day Yahweh dresses his people's wound and heals the scars of the blows they havereceived.	26 Então a luz da lua será viva como a do sol, e a do sol brilhará sete vezes mais {como a luz de sete dias}, no dia em que o Senhor pensar a chaga de seu povo e curar as contusões dos golpes que recebeu.
27 See, the name of Yahweh comes from afar, blazing his anger, heavy his threat. His lips are brimmingover with fury, his tongue is like a devouring fire.	27 Vede! É o nome do Senhor que vem de longe, sua cólera é ardente, uma nuvem pesada se levanta, seus lábios respiram furor, e sua língua é como um fogo devorador.
28 His breath is like a river in spate coming up to the neck, to sift the nations with the sieve ofdestruction, to harness the peoples in a bridle, that wil lead them astray.	28 Seu sopro assemelha-se a uma torrente transbordante cuja água sobe até o pescoço. Ele passará as nações no crivo destruidor e porá nos queixos dos povos um freio que os desencaminhe.
29 Your song wil be like that on a festal night, and there wil be joy in your hearts as when to the soundof the flute people make a pilgrimage to the mountain of Yahweh, the Rock of Israel.	29 Vós, porém, fareis retumbar vossos cânticos, como na noite em que se celebra festa; e tereis alegria no coração, como o que caminha ao som da flauta, para vir ao monte do Senhor, junto ao rochedo de Israel.
30 Yahweh will make his majestic voice ring out, he wil show the weight of his arm in the heat of hisanger, with a devouring fire, with thunderbolt, downpour and hailstones.	30 O Senhor fará retumbar sua voz majestosa, e mostrará como o seu braço desaba em sua cólera ardente, nas chamas de um fogo devorador, na tempestade, com chuva e granizo.
31 Yes, at Yahweh's voice Assyria wil be terrified, he wil strike him with his rod;	31 À voz do Senhor, o assírio tremerá e será ferido pela vara.
32 each time he goes by, wil fal the punishing rod that Yahweh wil lay on him, to the sound oftambourines and harps, in the battles which he wil wage against him with uplifted hand.	32 A cada golpe da vara vingadora {que o Senhor lhe infligirá}, soarão tamborins e cítaras.
33 Yes, Topheth has been ready for a long time now, that too is ready for the king, deep and wide hispyre, fire and wood in plenty. Yahweh's breath, like a stream of brimstone, wil set fire to it.	33 Sim, um lugar de incineração está preparado também para Moloc, cavado, profundo e largo; palha e lenha ali há em quantidade, e o sopro do Senhor, como uma torrente de enxofre, acendê-lo-á.
