Isaiah 30

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBLIA
1 Woe to the rebel ious children -- declares Yahweh -- who make plans which do not come from me andmake al iances not inspired by me, and so add sin to sin!	1 ¡Ay de los hijos rebeldes - oráculo de Yahveh - para ejecutar planes, que no son míos, y para hacer libaciones de alianza, mas no a mi aire, amontonando pecado sobre pecado!
2 They are leaving for Egypt, without consulting me, to take refuge in Pharaoh's protection, to shelter inEgypt's shadow.	2 Los que bajan a Egipto sin consultar a mi boca, para buscar apoyo en la fuerza de Faraón y ampararse a la sombra de Egipto.
3 Pharaoh's protection will be your shame, the shelter of Egypt's shadow your confounding.	3 La fuerza del Faraón se os convertirá en vergüenza, y el amparo de la sombra de Egipto, en confusión.
4 For his princes have gone to Zoan and his messengers have reached Hanes.	4 Cuando estuvieron en Soán sus jefes, y cuando sus emisarios llegaron a Janés,
5 Everyone has been disappointed by a people who cannot help, who bring neither aid nor profit, onlydisappointment and confusion.	5 todos llevaron presentes a un pueblo que les será inútil, a un pueblo que no sirve de ayuda - ni de utilidad - sino de vergüenza y de oprobio.
6 Proclamation about the beasts of the Negeb: Into the land of distress and of anguish, of lioness androaring lion, of viper and flying dragon, they bear their riches on donkeys' backs, their treasures on camels'humps, to a nation that cannot help:	6 Oráculo sobre los animales del Négueb. Por tierra de angustia y aridez, de leona y de león rugiente, de áspid y dragón volador, llevan a lomos de pollinos su riqueza, y sobre jiba de camellos sus tesoros hacia un pueblo que no les será útil,
7 Egypt, whose help is vain and futile; and so I cal her 'Rahab -the-collapsed'.	7 a Egipto, cuyo apoyo es huero y vano. Por eso he llamado a ese pueblo «Ráhab la cesante».
8 Now go, inscribe this on a tablet, write it on a scrol , so that it may serve for time to come for ever andfor ever.	8 Ahora ven, escríbelo en una tablilla, grábalo en un libro, y que dure hasta el último día, para testimonio hasta siempre:
9 This is a rebellious people, they are lying children, children who will not listen to Yahweh's Law.	9 Que es un pueblo terco, criaturas hipócritas, hijos que no aceptan escuchar la instrucción de Yahveh;
10 To the seers they say, 'See nothing!' To the prophets, 'Do not prophesy the truth to us; tel us flatteringthings; have illusory visions;	10 que han dicho a los videntes: «No veáis»; y a los visionarios: «No veáis para nosotros visiones verdaderas; habladnos cosas halagüeñas, contemplad ilusiones.
11 turn aside from the way, leave the path, rid us of the Holy One of Israel.'	11 Apartaos del camino, desviaos de la ruta, dejadnos en paz del Santo de Israel».
12 So the Holy One of Israel says this, 'Since you have rejected this word and put your trust in fraud anddisloyalty and rely on these,	12 Por tanto, así dice el Santo de Israel: Por cuanto habéis rechazado vosotros esta palabra, y por cuanto habéis fiado en lo torcido y perverso y os habéis apoyado en ello,
13 for you this guilt will prove to be a breach opening up, a bulge at the top of a wal which suddenly andal at once comes crashing down.	13 por eso será para vosotros esta culpa como brecha ruinosa en una alta muralla, cuya quiebra sobrevendrá de un momento a otro,
14 He wil shatter it like an earthenware pot, ruthlessly knocking it to pieces, so that of the fragments notone shard can be found with which to take up fire from the hearth or scoop water from the storage-wel .'	14 y va a ser su quiebra como la de una vasija de alfarero, rota sin compasión, en la que al romperse no se encuentra una sola tejoleta bastante grande para tomar fuego del hogar o para extraer agua del aljibe.
15 For Lord Yahweh, the Holy One of Israel, says this, 'Your salvation lay in conversion and tranquil ity,your strength in serenity and trust and you would have none of it.	15 Porque así dice el Señor Yahveh, el Santo de Israel: «Por la conversión y calma seréis liberados, en el sosiego y seguridad estará vuestra fuerza». Pero no aceptasteis,
16 "No," you said, "we shall flee on horses." And so flee you wil ! And again, "We shal ride on swift ones." And so your pursuers will be swift!	16 sino que dijisteis: «No, huiremos a caballo». ¡Pues, bien, huid! Y «sobre rápidos carros montaremos». ¡Pues bien, rápidamente seréis perseguidos!
17 A thousand wil quake at the threat of one and when five threaten you will flee, until what is left of youwil be like a flagstaff on a mountain top, like a signal on a hil .'	17 Mil temblarán ante la amenaza de uno solo; ante la amenaza de cinco huiréis, hasta que seáis dejados como mástil en la cúspide del monte y como gallardete sobre una colina.
18 But Yahweh is waiting to be gracious to you, the Exalted One, to take pity on you, for Yahweh is aGod of fair judgement; blessed are al who hope in him.	18 Sin embargo aguardará Yahveh para haceros gracia, y así se levantará para compadeceros, porque Dios de equidad es Yahveh: ¡dichosos todos los que en él esperan!
19 Yes, people of Zion living in Jerusalem, you will weep no more. He wil be gracious to you when yourcry for help rings out; as soon as he hears it, he will answer you.	19 Sí, pueblo de Sión que habitas en Jerusalén, no llorarás ya más; de cierto tendrá piedad de ti, cuando oiga tu clamor; en cuanto lo oyere, te responderá.
20 When the Lord has given you the bread of suffering and the water of distress, he who is your teacherwil hide no longer, and you wil see your teacher with your own eyes.	20 Os dará el Señor pan de asedio y aguas de opresión, y después no será ya ocultado el que te enseña; con tus ojos verás al que te enseña,
21 Your ears wil hear these words behind you, 'This is the way, keep to it,' whether you turn to right orleft.	21 y con tus oídos oirás detrás de ti estas palabras: «Ese es el camino, id por él», ya sea a la derecha, ya a la izquierda.
22 You wil hold unclean the silverplating of your idols and the goldplating of your images. You wil throwthem away like the pol uted things they are, shouting after them, 'Good riddance!'	22 Declararás impuro el revestimiento de tus ídolos de plata y el ornato de tus imágenes fundidas en oro. Los rechazarás como paño inmundo: «¡Fuera de aquí!», les dirás.
23 He wil send rain for the seed you sow in the ground, and the bread that the ground provides wil berich and nourishing. That day, your cattle will graze in wide pastures.	23 El dará lluvia a tu sementera con que hayas sembrado el suelo, y la tierra te producirá pan que será pingüe y sustancioso. Pacerán tus ganados aquel día en pastizal dilatado;
24 Oxen and donkeys that work the land will eat for fodder wild sorrel, spread by the shovel-load andfork-load.	24 los bueyes y asnos que trabajan el suelo comerán forraje salado, cribado con bieldo y con criba.
25 On every lofty mountain, on every high hil there wil be streams and water-courses, on the day of thegreat slaughter when the strongholds fal .	25 Habrá sobre todo monte alto y sobre todo cerro elevado manantiales que den aguas perennes, el día de la gran matanza, cuando caigan las fortalezas.
26 Then moonlight will be bright as sunlight and sunlight itself be seven times brighter -- like the light ofseven days in one -- on the day Yahweh dresses his people's wound and heals the scars of the blows they havereceived.	26 Será la luz de la luna como la luz del sol meridiano, y la luz del sol meridiano será siete veces mayor - con luz de siete días - el día que vende Yahveh la herida de su pueblo y cure la contusión de su golpe.
27 See, the name of Yahweh comes from afar, blazing his anger, heavy his threat. His lips are brimmingover with fury, his tongue is like a devouring fire.	27 He aquí que el nombre de Yahveh viene de lejos, ardiente su ira y pesada su opresión. Sus labios llenos están de furor, su lengua es como fuego que devora,
28 His breath is like a river in spate coming up to the neck, to sift the nations with the sieve ofdestruction, to harness the peoples in a bridle, that wil lead them astray.	28 y su aliento como torrente desbordado que cubre hasta el cuello. Cribará a las naciones con criba nefasta, pondrá el bocado de sus bridas en la mandíbula de sus pueblos.
29 Your song wil be like that on a festal night, and there wil be joy in your hearts as when to the soundof the flute people make a pilgrimage to the mountain of Yahweh, the Rock of Israel.	29 Vosotros cantaréis como en la noche de santificar fiesta; se os alegrará el corazón como el de quien va al son de flauta a entrar en el monte de Yahveh, a la Peña de Israel.
30 Yahweh will make his majestic voice ring out, he wil show the weight of his arm in the heat of hisanger, with a devouring fire, with thunderbolt, downpour and hailstones.	30 Hará oír Yahveh la majestad de su voz, y mostrará la descarga de su brazo con ira inflamada y llama de fuego devoradora, turbión, aguacero y granizo.
31 Yes, at Yahweh's voice Assyria wil be terrified, he wil strike him with his rod;	31 Pues por la voz de Yahveh será hecho añicos Asur: con un bastón le golpeará.
32 each time he goes by, wil fal the punishing rod that Yahweh wil lay on him, to the sound oftambourines and harps, in the battles which he wil wage against him with uplifted hand.	32 A cada pasada de la vara de castigo que Yahveh descargue sobre él - con adufes y con arpas - y con guerras de sacudir las manos guerreará contra él.
33 Yes, Topheth has been ready for a long time now, that too is ready for the king, deep and wide hispyre, fire and wood in plenty. Yahweh's breath, like a stream of brimstone, wil set fire to it.	33 Porque de antemano está preparado un Tófet - también para el rey - un foso profundo y ancho; hay paja y madera en abundancia. El aliento de Yahveh, cual torrente de azufre, lo enciende.
