Isaiah 30

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA RICCIOTTI
1 Woe to the rebel ious children -- declares Yahweh -- who make plans which do not come from me andmake al iances not inspired by me, and so add sin to sin!	1 - «Guai a voi, figli disertori», dice il Signore «che formate disegni, ma che non vengono da me, e ordite trame e non per mia ispirazione, per aggiungere peccato a peccato.
2 They are leaving for Egypt, without consulting me, to take refuge in Pharaoh's protection, to shelter inEgypt's shadow.	2 Che v'incamminate per discendere in Egitto e non avete interrogato l'oracolo della mia bocca, sperando nell'aiuto della potenza di Faraone e mettendo la vostra fiducia nella protezione dell'Egitto.
3 Pharaoh's protection will be your shame, the shelter of Egypt's shadow your confounding.	3 Ma la potenza di Faraone sarà a vostra confusione, e la fiducia nella protezione dell'Egitto a vostro vituperio.
4 For his princes have gone to Zoan and his messengers have reached Hanes.	4 Poichè sono giunti a Tanis i tuoi principi, pervenuti fino a Hanes i tuoi ambasciatori.
5 Everyone has been disappointed by a people who cannot help, who bring neither aid nor profit, onlydisappointment and confusion.	5 Sono rimasti tutti confusi d'un popolo che non potè essere a essi di vantaggio alcuno, da cui non aiuto nè altra utilità, ma confusione ritrassero e obbrobrio».
6 Proclamation about the beasts of the Negeb: Into the land of distress and of anguish, of lioness androaring lion, of viper and flying dragon, they bear their riches on donkeys' backs, their treasures on camels'humps, to a nation that cannot help:	6 Vaticinio sulle bestie dell'Austro. Per una terra di disagi e di angustie, donde esce la leonessa e il leone, la vipera e il basilisco alato; portando sul dosso dei giumenti le loro ricchezze, e sulla gobba dei cammelli i loro tesori, se ne vanno ad un popolo che non potrà loro servire a nulla.
7 Egypt, whose help is vain and futile; and so I cal her 'Rahab -the-collapsed'.	7 Perchè l'Egitto porterà vano e inutile aiuto; quindi sopra di ciò ho esclamato: «C'è solamente iattanza: sta' quieto!».
8 Now go, inscribe this on a tablet, write it on a scrol , so that it may serve for time to come for ever andfor ever.	8 Or dunque entra, scrivilo sopra una tavoletta, e traccialo diligentemente per iscritto; e sia per un giorno avvenire, una testimonianza eterna.
9 This is a rebellious people, they are lying children, children who will not listen to Yahweh's Law.	9 Perchè questo è un popolo che mi provoca a sdegno; figli infedeli, figli che non vogliono ascoltare l'ammaestramento di Dio.
10 To the seers they say, 'See nothing!' To the prophets, 'Do not prophesy the truth to us; tel us flatteringthings; have illusory visions;	10 Che dicono ai veggenti: «Non fate previsioni»; e ai vati: «Non vaticinate quello che è giusto; diteci cose piacevoli, fateci previsioni finte.
11 turn aside from the way, leave the path, rid us of the Holy One of Israel.'	11 Discostatevi dalla via battuta, deviate un po' dalla solita strada, cessate dal metterci davanti il Santo d'Israele!».
12 So the Holy One of Israel says this, 'Since you have rejected this word and put your trust in fraud anddisloyalty and rely on these,	12 Per questo, così dice il Santo d'Israele: «Giacchè voi avete rigettata questa parola, e avete sperato nei raggiri e nelle agitazione facendone il vostro appoggio;
13 for you this guilt will prove to be a breach opening up, a bulge at the top of a wal which suddenly andal at once comes crashing down.	13 perciò questa iniquità sarà per voi come una screpolatura franosa e impercettibile in un alto muro, che all'improvviso, quando uno meno se lo aspetta, lo fa piombare in rovina.
14 He wil shatter it like an earthenware pot, ruthlessly knocking it to pieces, so that of the fragments notone shard can be found with which to take up fire from the hearth or scoop water from the storage-wel .'	14 E andrà in frantumi come un vaso di creta che gettato con impeto si sfracella, fra i cui rottami non si trova un coccio su cui portare un po' di fuoco tolto al focolare, od attingere un po' di acqua da un fosso».
15 For Lord Yahweh, the Holy One of Israel, says this, 'Your salvation lay in conversion and tranquil ity,your strength in serenity and trust and you would have none of it.	15 Perchè così aveva detto il Signore, il Santo di Israele: «Se tornerete indietro e starete quieti, sarete salvi; nel silenzio e nella confidenza sarà la vostra forza». Ma voi non avete voluto;
16 "No," you said, "we shall flee on horses." And so flee you wil ! And again, "We shal ride on swift ones." And so your pursuers will be swift!	16 e avete detto: «Niente affatto, ma su cavalli noi fuggiremo!». Ebbene, fuggite! «Saliremo su veloci [corsieri]!». Ebbene, saranno più veloci quei che vi inseguiranno.
17 A thousand wil quake at the threat of one and when five threaten you will flee, until what is left of youwil be like a flagstaff on a mountain top, like a signal on a hil .'	17 Mille uomini alla minaccia d'un solo; alla minaccia di cinque, tutti fuggirete; sino a che rimaniate quale antenna sulla vetta d'un monte e come uno stendardo sopra un colle.
18 But Yahweh is waiting to be gracious to you, the Exalted One, to take pity on you, for Yahweh is aGod of fair judgement; blessed are al who hope in him.	18 Per questo il Signore aspetta per farvi misericordia: in questo vorrebbe magnificarsi, nel perdonarvi, perchè il Signore è un Dio giusto: beati tutti coloro che lo aspettano!
19 Yes, people of Zion living in Jerusalem, you will weep no more. He wil be gracious to you when yourcry for help rings out; as soon as he hears it, he will answer you.	19 Perchè il popolo di Sion abiterà in Gerusalemme, non verserà più lacrime di pianto. Iddio pietoso avrà compassione di te: appena udirà la voce del tuo grido, egli risponderà.
20 When the Lord has given you the bread of suffering and the water of distress, he who is your teacherwil hide no longer, and you wil see your teacher with your own eyes.	20 E il Signore vi sostenterà nella strettezza di pane e nella scarsità d'acqua; e non lascerà più che s'involi a te il tuo maestro, e gli occhi tuoi vedranno il tuo precettore.
21 Your ears wil hear these words behind you, 'This is the way, keep to it,' whether you turn to right orleft.	21 E le tue orecchie udiranno le parole di chi alle spalle ti avvisa, e ti dice: «La via è questa, camminate per essa, e non piegate nè a destra nè a sinistra!».
22 You wil hold unclean the silverplating of your idols and the goldplating of your images. You wil throwthem away like the pol uted things they are, shouting after them, 'Good riddance!'	22 E contaminerete le lamine del vostro argento che ricoprivano i simulacri, e il vostro oro fuso che li rivestiva, e gettandoli via, come uno strofinaccio immondo, direte: «Fuori di qua!».
23 He wil send rain for the seed you sow in the ground, and the bread that the ground provides wil berich and nourishing. That day, your cattle will graze in wide pastures.	23 E la pioggia sarà data ai tuoi seminati, dovunque tu seminerai la terra; e il pane, prodotto della terra, sarà abbondante e sostanzioso; e spaziosi pascoli avrà in quel giorno l'agnello nelle tue possessioni.
24 Oxen and donkeys that work the land will eat for fodder wild sorrel, spread by the shovel-load andfork-load.	24 E i tuoi buoi e i tuoi giumenti che lavorano la terra mangeranno il tritume mescolato, quale è stato ventilato nell'aia.
25 On every lofty mountain, on every high hil there wil be streams and water-courses, on the day of thegreat slaughter when the strongholds fal .	25 E su tutti gli alti monti e su tutti i colli elevati vi saranno ruscelli di acque correnti, nel giorno della grande strage, quando saranno cadute le torri.
26 Then moonlight will be bright as sunlight and sunlight itself be seven times brighter -- like the light ofseven days in one -- on the day Yahweh dresses his people's wound and heals the scars of the blows they havereceived.	26 E la luce della luna sarà uguale alla luce del sole, e la luce del sole sarà sette volte maggiore, come la luce riunita di sette giorni; nel dì che il Signore avrà fasciata la ferita del suo popolo e avrà guarito le percosse che l'avevano piagato.
27 See, the name of Yahweh comes from afar, blazing his anger, heavy his threat. His lips are brimmingover with fury, his tongue is like a devouring fire.	27 Ecco il nome del Signore da lungi che viene: ardente è il suo furore e insopportabile; le sue labbra sono piene di sdegno, e la sua lingua come un fuoco divoratore.
28 His breath is like a river in spate coming up to the neck, to sift the nations with the sieve ofdestruction, to harness the peoples in a bridle, that wil lead them astray.	28 Il suo soffio è come un torrente in piena che arriva fino al collo, per travolgere nel nulla le nazioni, pel freno dell'errore che era alle mascelle dei popoli.
29 Your song wil be like that on a festal night, and there wil be joy in your hearts as when to the soundof the flute people make a pilgrimage to the mountain of Yahweh, the Rock of Israel.	29 Voi scioglierete un cantico come nella notte della solennità santa; colla letizia nel cuore, come chi cammina al suon di flauti per recarsi al monte del Signore, al Forte di Israele.
30 Yahweh will make his majestic voice ring out, he wil show the weight of his arm in the heat of hisanger, with a devouring fire, with thunderbolt, downpour and hailstones.	30 E il Signore farà udire la maestà della sua voce, e farà vedere la terribilità del suo braccio, nel furore minaccioso, e nella vampa di fuoco divoratore, collo schiantar del turbine e col grandinar delle pietre.
31 Yes, at Yahweh's voice Assyria wil be terrified, he wil strike him with his rod;	31 Assur tremerà alla voce del Signore percosso dalla sua verga.
32 each time he goes by, wil fal the punishing rod that Yahweh wil lay on him, to the sound oftambourines and harps, in the battles which he wil wage against him with uplifted hand.	32 E il passaggio della verga che il Signore farà calare sopra di lui, sarà a termine fisso, accolto a suon di timpani e cetre; e con singolari battaglie lo vincerà.
33 Yes, Topheth has been ready for a long time now, that too is ready for the king, deep and wide hispyre, fire and wood in plenty. Yahweh's breath, like a stream of brimstone, wil set fire to it.	33 Perchè assai prima di ieri Tofet è stato preparato per il re, profondo e ampio, avvivato con fuoco e legna molta: il soffio del Signore come un torrente di zolfo lo tiene acceso.
