Isaiah 26

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 That day, this song wil be sung in Judah: 'We have a fortress city, the wal s and ramparts providesafety.	1 Aquel día, se entonará este canto en el país de Judá: Tenemos una ciudad fuerte, el Señor le ha puesto como salvaguardia muros y antemuros.
2 Open the gates! Let the upright nation come in, the nation that keeps faith!	2 Abran las puertas, para que entre una nación justa, que se mantiene fiel.
3 This is the plan decreed: you wil guarantee peace, the peace entrusted to you.	3 Su carácter es firme, y tú la conservas en paz. porque ella confía en ti.
4 Trust in Yahweh for ever, for Yahweh is a rock for ever.	4 Confíen en el Señor para siempre, porque el Señor es una Roca eterna.
5 He has brought low the dwel ers on the heights, the lofty citadel; he lays it low, brings it to the ground,flings it down in the dust.	5 El doblegó a los que habitaban en la altura, en la ciudad inaccesible; la humilló hasta la tierra, le hizo tocar el polvo.
6 It wil be trodden under foot, by the feet of the needy, the steps of the weak.'	6 Ella es pisoteada por los pies del pobre, por las pisadas de los débiles.
7 The path of the Upright One is honesty; you smooth the honest way of the upright.	7 La senda del justo es recta, tú allanas el sendero del justo.
8 Fol owing the path of your judgements, Yahweh, we set our hopes in you, your name, your memory areal our soul desires.	8 Sí, en la senda trazada por tus juicios, esperamos en ti, Señor: tu Nombre y tu recuerdo son el deseo de nuestra alma.
9 At night my soul longs for you and my spirit within me seeks you out; for when your judgements appearon earth the inhabitants of the world learn what saving justice is.	9 Mi alma te desea por la noche, y mi espíritu te busca de madrugada, porque cuando tus juicios se ejercen sobre la tierra, los habitantes del mundo aprenden la justicia.
10 If pity is shown to the wicked without his learning what saving justice is, he wil act wrongly in the landof right conduct and not see the majesty of Yahweh.	10 Si se hace gracia al malvado, no aprende la justicia; en el país de la rectitud, obra perversamente, sin mirar la majestad del Señor.
11 Yahweh, your hand is raised but they do not see! The antagonists of your people will look and growpale; with your fiery wrath you wil devour your enemies.	11 Señor, tu mano está levantada, pero ellos no la ven; ¡que vean avergonzados tu celo por el pueblo, que los devore el fuego destinado a tus adversarios!
12 Yahweh, you wil grant us peace, having completed al our undertakings for us.	12 Señor, tú nos aseguras la paz, porque eres tú el que realiza por nosotros todo lo que nosotros hacemos.
13 Yahweh our God, other lords than you have ruled us but, loyal to you alone, we invoke your name.	13 Señor, Dios nuestro, otros señores nos han dominado, pero a nadie reconocemos fuera de ti, solamente pronunciamos tu Nombre.
14 The dead wil not come back to life, the shadows wil not rise again, for you have punished them,annihilated them, wiping out their very memory.	14 Los muertos no revivirán, las sombras no se levantarán: tú has intervenido para exterminarlos, hiciste desaparecer hasta su recuerdo.
15 You have made the nation larger, Yahweh, made the nation larger and won yourself glory, you haverol ed back the frontiers of the country.	15 Has engrandecido la nación, Señor, has engrandecido la nación, has manifestado tu gloria, has ensanchado todas las fronteras del país.
16 Yahweh, in distress they had recourse to you, they expended themselves in prayer, since yourpunishment was on them.	16 En medio de la angustia, Señor. acudimos a ti, clamamos en la opresión, cuando nos golpeaba tu castigo.
17 As a pregnant woman near her time of delivery writhes and cries out in her pangs, so have we been,Yahweh, in your eyes:	17 Como la mujer embarazada, que está por dar a luz, se refuerce y da gritos de dolor, así éramos nosotros delante de ti, Señor.
18 we have been pregnant, we have writhed, but we have given birth only to wind: we have not givensalvation to the earth, no inhabitants for the world have been brought to birth.	18 Hemos concebido, nos hemos retorcido, y no dimos a luz más que viento. ¡No Hemos traído la salvación a la tierra, no le nacieron habitantes al mundo!
19 Your dead will come back to life, your corpses wil rise again. Wake up and sing, you dwel ers in thedust, for your dew wil be a radiant dew, but the earth will give birth to the shades.	19 Pero tus muertos revivirán, se levantarás sus cadáveres. ¡Despierten y griten de alegría los que yacen en el polvo! Porque tu rocío es un rocío de luz, y la tierra dará vida a las Sombras.
20 Go, my people, go to your private room, shut yourselves in. Hide yourselves a little while until theretribution has passed.	20 ¡Ve, pueblo mío, entra en tus habitaciones y cierra tus puertas por dentro; escóndete por un instante, hasta que pase la ira!
21 For see, Yahweh emerges from his dwel ing to punish the inhabitants of earth for their guilt; and theearth will reveal the blood shed on it and no longer hide its slain.	21 Porque el Señor sale de su morada para pedir cuenta de su iniquidad a los habitantes de la tierra: la tierra pondrá al descubierto la sangre derramada y ya no cubrirá a sus muertos.
