Isaiah 26

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBLIA
1 That day, this song wil be sung in Judah: 'We have a fortress city, the wal s and ramparts providesafety.	1 Aquel día se cantará este cantar en tierra de Judá: «Ciudad fuerte tenemos; para protección se le han puesto murallas y antemuro.
2 Open the gates! Let the upright nation come in, the nation that keeps faith!	2 Abrid las puertas, y entrará una gente justa que guarda fidelidad;
3 This is the plan decreed: you wil guarantee peace, the peace entrusted to you.	3 de ánimo firme y que conserva la paz, porque en ti confió.
4 Trust in Yahweh for ever, for Yahweh is a rock for ever.	4 Confiad en Yahveh por siempre jamás, porque en Yahveh tenéis una Roca eterna.
5 He has brought low the dwel ers on the heights, the lofty citadel; he lays it low, brings it to the ground,flings it down in the dust.	5 Porque él derroca a los habitantes de los altos, a la villa inacessible; la hace caer, la abaja hasta la tierra, la hace tocar el polvo;
6 It wil be trodden under foot, by the feet of the needy, the steps of the weak.'	6 la pisan pies, pies de pobres, pisadas de débiles».
7 The path of the Upright One is honesty; you smooth the honest way of the upright.	7 La senda del justo es recta; tú allanas la senda recta del justo.
8 Fol owing the path of your judgements, Yahweh, we set our hopes in you, your name, your memory areal our soul desires.	8 Pues bien, en la senda de tus juicios te esperamos, Yahveh; tu nombre y tu recuerdo son el anhelo del alma.
9 At night my soul longs for you and my spirit within me seeks you out; for when your judgements appearon earth the inhabitants of the world learn what saving justice is.	9 Con toda mi alma te anhelo en la noche, y con todo mi espíritu por la mañana te busco. Porque cuando tú juzgas a la tierra, aprenden justicia los habitantes del orbe.
10 If pity is shown to the wicked without his learning what saving justice is, he wil act wrongly in the landof right conduct and not see the majesty of Yahweh.	10 Aunque se haga gracia al malvado, no aprende justicia; en tierra recta se tuerce, y no teme la majestad de Yahveh.
11 Yahweh, your hand is raised but they do not see! The antagonists of your people will look and growpale; with your fiery wrath you wil devour your enemies.	11 Yahveh, alzada está tu mano, pero no la ven; verán tu celo por el pueblo y se avergonzarán, tu ira ardiente devorará a tus adversarios.
12 Yahweh, you wil grant us peace, having completed al our undertakings for us.	12 Yahveh, tú nos pondrás a salvo, que también llevas a cabo todas nuestras obras.
13 Yahweh our God, other lords than you have ruled us but, loyal to you alone, we invoke your name.	13 Yahveh, Dios nuestro, nos han dominado otros señores fuera de ti, pero no recordaremos otro Nombre sino el tuyo.
14 The dead wil not come back to life, the shadows wil not rise again, for you have punished them,annihilated them, wiping out their very memory.	14 Los muertos no vivirán, las sombras no se levantarán, pues los has castigado, los has exterminado y has borrado todo recuerdo de ellos.
15 You have made the nation larger, Yahweh, made the nation larger and won yourself glory, you haverol ed back the frontiers of the country.	15 Has aumentado la nación, Yahveh, has aumentado la nación y te has glorificado, has ampliado todos los límites del país.
16 Yahweh, in distress they had recourse to you, they expended themselves in prayer, since yourpunishment was on them.	16 Yahveh, en el aprieto de tu castigo te buscamos; la angustia de la opresión era tu castigo para nosotros.
17 As a pregnant woman near her time of delivery writhes and cries out in her pangs, so have we been,Yahweh, in your eyes:	17 Como cuando la mujer encinta está próxima al parto sufre, y se queja en su trance, así éramos nosotros delante de ti, Yahveh.
18 we have been pregnant, we have writhed, but we have given birth only to wind: we have not givensalvation to the earth, no inhabitants for the world have been brought to birth.	18 Hemos concebido, tenemos dolores como si diésemos a luz viento; pero no hemos traído a la tierra salvación, y no le nacerán habitantes al orbe.
19 Your dead will come back to life, your corpses wil rise again. Wake up and sing, you dwel ers in thedust, for your dew wil be a radiant dew, but the earth will give birth to the shades.	19 Revivirán tus muertos, tus cadáveres resurgirán, despertarán y darán gritos de júbilo los moradores del polvo; porque rocío luminoso es tu rocío, y la tierra echará de su seno las sombras.
20 Go, my people, go to your private room, shut yourselves in. Hide yourselves a little while until theretribution has passed.	20 Vete, pueblo mío, entra en tus cámaras y cierra tu puerta tras de ti, escóndete un instante hasta que pase la ira.
21 For see, Yahweh emerges from his dwel ing to punish the inhabitants of earth for their guilt; and theearth will reveal the blood shed on it and no longer hide its slain.	21 Porque he ahí a Yahveh que sale de su lugar a castigar la culpa de todos los habitantes de la tierra contra él; descubre la tierra sus manchas de sangre y no tapa ya a sus asesinados.
