NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 Prophecy on the Valley of Vision: Now what is the matter with you for you al to be up on thehousetops,	1 Oracolo sulla valle della Visione. Che hai dunque da salire tutta quanta sulle terrazze?
2 ful of excitement, boisterous town, joyful city? Your slain have not fal en to the sword nor died in battle.	2 Tu, piena di strepito, città tumultuante, città gaudente? I tuoi trafitti non sono stati trafitti di spada e i tuoi morti non sono stati uccisi in battaglia.
3 Your leaders have al fled together, captured without a bow between them, al who could be found havebeen captured at a blow, far though they had fled.	3 Tutti i tuoi capi han preso insieme la fuga, senza un tiro d'arco sono stati fatti prigionieri, tutti i tuoi prodi sono stati catturati insieme, o sono fuggiti lontano.
4 That is why I said, 'Turn your eyes away from me, let me weep bitterly; do not try to comfort me overthe ruin of the daughter of my people.'	4 Perciò dico: "Ritiratevi da me, che io pianga amaramente, non vogliate consolarmi della rovina della figlia del mio popolo!".
5 For this is a day of rout, panic and confusion, the work of the Lord Yahweh Sabaoth in the Val ey ofVision. The wal is sapped, cries for help ring out to the mountains.	5 Perché è un giorno di terrore, di distruzione e di confusione da parte del Signore, Dio degli eserciti. Nella valle della Visione il muro è abbattuto e si grida verso i monti.
6 Elam has picked up his quiver, with manned chariots and horsemen, and Kir has bared his shield.	6 Elam prende l'arco, Aram monta sui cavalli, Kir scopre il suo scudo.
7 Your fairest val eys are full of chariots and the horsemen take up positions at the gates;	7 Le tue valli più scelte abbondano di carri, e i cavalieri sono disposti alle porte.

10 You surveyed the houses in Jerusalem and pul ed houses down to strengthen the wal .	10 Avete contato le case di Gerusalemme e demolito le case per fortificare le mura.
11 Between the two wal s you made a reservoir for the waters of the old pool. But you did not look to theCreator of these things, you did not look to the One who fashioned them long ago.	11 Avete costruito un serbatoio fra i due muri, per le acque dell'antica piscina, e non avete riguardato verso colui che è l'autore, né avete visto colui che da tempo ha preparato tutto questo.
12 That day the Lord Yahweh Sabaoth cal ed on you to weep and mourn, to shave your heads, to put onsackcloth.	12 Il Signore, Dio degli eserciti, vi chiamava in quel giorno a piangere e lamentarvi, a tagliarvi i capelli ed a cingere il sacco.
13 But instead there is joy and merriment, killing of oxen, slaughtering of sheep, eating of meat, drinkingof wine, 'Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we shal be dead.'	13 Invece ecco allegria e gioia, uccisione di bestiame e immolazione di pecore; si mangia carne e si beve vino: "Mangiamo e beviamo perché domani moriremo!".
14 Then Yahweh Sabaoth revealed this to my ears, 'This guilt wil never be forgiven you, until you aredead,' says the Lord Yahweh Sabaoth.	14 Il Signore degli eserciti s'è fatto intendere alle mie orecchie: "Questa vostra colpa non sarà espiata, finché non sarete morti", dice il Signore, Dio degli eserciti.
15 The Lord Yahweh Sabaoth says this: Go and find that steward, Shebna, the master of the palace:	15 Così parla il Signore Dio degli eserciti: Su, rècati da questo ministro, da Sebnà, il maggiordomo.
16 'What do you own here, who gave you the right for you to hew yourself a tomb here?' He is hewinghimself a tomb, is digging a resting-place for himself in the rock.	16 "Che cosa possiedi qui, e chi hai qui, che ti tagli qui un sepolcro?". Si taglia un sepolcro in alto e si scava nella rupe la dimora.
17 But Yahweh wil throw you away, strong as you are, wil grasp you in his grip,	17 Ecco, il Signore con un lancio potente, ti getta lontano e ti rotola sottosopra.
18 will screw you up into a bal , a ball thrown into a vast space. There you will die, with your splendidchariots, disgrace to your master's palace!	18 Ti avvoltola ben bene e ti getta come una palla sopra un ampio terreno. Là morirai, e là spariranno i tuoi cocchi gloriosi, o ignominia del palazzo del tuo signore!
19 I shal hound you from your office, I shal snatch you from your post	19 Ti caccerò dal tuo posto e ti strapperò dalla tua posizione.
20 and, when that day comes, I shal summon my servant Eliakim son of Hilkiah.	20 In quel giorno chiamerò il mio servo, Eliakìm, figlio di Chelkìa.
21 I shal dress him in your tunic, I shal put your sash round his waist, I shall invest him with yourauthority; and he wil be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem and to the House of Judah.	21 Lo rivestirò con la tua tunica, lo stringerò con la tua cintura e rimetterò nelle sue mani la tua autorità. Sarà un padre per gli abitanti di Gerusalemme e per la casa di Giuda.
22 I shal place the key of David's palace on his shoulder; when he opens, no one will close, when hecloses, no one wil open.	22 Gli porrò sull'omero la chiave della casa di Davide, aprirà e nessuno potrà chiudere; chiuderà e nessuno potrà aprire.
23 I shal drive him like a nail into a firm place; and he wil become a throne of glory for his family.	23 Lo fisserò come un chiodo in un luogo sicuro e sarà un trono di gloria per la casa del padre suo.
24 'On him wil depend al the glory of his family, the descendants and offspring, al the vessels of smalcapacity too, from cups to pitchers.	24 A lui sarà sospesa tutta la gloria della casa del padre suo, germogli e rampolli, tutto il piccolo vasellame, dalle coppe fino alle anfore di ogni specie.
25 That day, declares Yahweh Sabaoth, the nail driven into a firm place wil give way, wil be torn out andfal . And the whole load hanging on it will be lost. For Yahweh has spoken.'	25 In quel giorno, oracolo del Signore degli eserciti, il chiodo infisso in luogo sicuro cederà, si spezzerà, cadrà e si infrangerà il carico che vi era sopra, perché il Signore ha parlato.
