NEW JERUSALEM	DIODATI
1 Prophecy on the Valley of Vision: Now what is the matter with you for you al to be up on thehousetops,	1 Il carico della Valle della visione. CHE hai ora, che sei tutta salita sopra i tetti?
2 ful of excitement, boisterous town, joyful city? Your slain have not fal en to the sword nor died in battle.	2 O città piena di strepiti, città romoreggiante, città trionfante! I tuoi uccisi non sono stati uccisi con la spada, e non son morti in guerra.

4 That is why I said, 'Turn your eyes away from me, let me weep bitterly; do not try to comfort me overthe ruin of the daughter of my people.'	4 Perciò, io ho detto: Ritraetevi da me, ed io piangerò amaramente; non vi studiate di consolarmi intorno al guastamento della figliuola del mio popolo.
5 For this is a day of rout, panic and confusion, the work of the Lord Yahweh Sabaoth in the Val ey ofVision. The wal is sapped, cries for help ring out to the mountains.	5 Perciocchè quest’è il giorno del fiaccamento, e del calpestamento, e della perplessità, da parte del Signore Iddio degli eserciti, nella Valle della visione; ed egli diroccherà le mura, e le grida andranno infino al monte.
6 Elam has picked up his quiver, with manned chariots and horsemen, and Kir has bared his shield.	6 Ed Elam si è messo indosso il turcasso; sopra i carri degli uomini vi sono de’ cavalieri, e Chir ha scoperto lo scudo.
7 Your fairest val eys are full of chariots and the horsemen take up positions at the gates;	7 Ed è avvenuto che le tue scelte valli sono state piene di carri e di cavalieri; hanno posto campo in su la porta
8 thus falls the defence of Judah. That day you turned your gaze to the weapons in the House of theForest.	8 E la coverta di Giuda è stata rimossa, e tu hai in quel giorno riguardato alle armi della casa del bosco.
9 You saw how many breaches there were in the City of David. You col ected the waters of the lowerpool.	9 E voi avete provveduto alle rotture della città di Davide, perciocchè erano grandi: ed avete raccolte le acque della pescina disotto;
10 You surveyed the houses in Jerusalem and pul ed houses down to strengthen the wal .	10 ed avete annoverate le case di Gerusalemme, ed avete diroccate delle case per fortificar le mura;
11 Between the two wal s you made a reservoir for the waters of the old pool. But you did not look to theCreator of these things, you did not look to the One who fashioned them long ago.	11 ed avete fatto fra le due mura un raccolto delle acque della pescina vecchia; ma non avete riguardato a colui che ha fatto questo, e non avete rivolti gli occhi a colui che ab antico l’ha formato.
12 That day the Lord Yahweh Sabaoth cal ed on you to weep and mourn, to shave your heads, to put onsackcloth.	12 E il Signore Iddio degli eserciti ha chiamato in quel giorno a pianto, ed a cordoglio; a trarsi i capelli, ed a cignersi di sacco;
13 But instead there is joy and merriment, killing of oxen, slaughtering of sheep, eating of meat, drinkingof wine, 'Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we shal be dead.'	13 ed ecco allegrezza, e letizia; ammazzar buoi, e scannar pecore; mangiar carni, e ber vino, dicendo: Mangiamo, e beviamo; perciocchè domani morremo.
14 Then Yahweh Sabaoth revealed this to my ears, 'This guilt wil never be forgiven you, until you aredead,' says the Lord Yahweh Sabaoth.	14 E ciò è pervenuto agli orecchi di me, che sono il Signor degli eserciti. Se mai è fatto per voi purgamento di questa iniquità, finchè muoiate, dice il Signore Iddio degli eserciti
15 The Lord Yahweh Sabaoth says this: Go and find that steward, Shebna, the master of the palace:	15 COSÌ ha detto il Signore Iddio degli eserciti: Va’, entra da questo tesoriere, da Sebna, mastro del palazzo; e digli:
16 'What do you own here, who gave you the right for you to hew yourself a tomb here?' He is hewinghimself a tomb, is digging a resting-place for himself in the rock.	16 Che hai da far qui? e chi è qui de’ tuoi che tu ti tagli qui una sepoltura? or egli tagliava il suo sepolcro in un luogo rilevato, e si disegnava un ostello nella roccia.
17 But Yahweh wil throw you away, strong as you are, wil grasp you in his grip,	17 Ecco, o uomo, il Signore ti caccerà lontano, e ti turerà affatto il volto.
18 will screw you up into a bal , a ball thrown into a vast space. There you will die, with your splendidchariots, disgrace to your master's palace!	18 Egli ti voltolerà sottosopra come una palla per terra larga e spaziosa; quivi morrai, e quivi saranno i carri della tua gloria, o vituprio della casa del tuo signore.
19 I shal hound you from your office, I shal snatch you from your post	19 Ed io ti sospingerò giù dal tuo grado, e ti sovvertirò dal tuo stato.
20 and, when that day comes, I shal summon my servant Eliakim son of Hilkiah.	20 Ed avverrà in quel giorno, che io chiamerò Eliachim, mio servitore, figliuolo di Hilchia.
21 I shal dress him in your tunic, I shal put your sash round his waist, I shall invest him with yourauthority; and he wil be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem and to the House of Judah.	21 E lo vestirò della tua veste, e lo fortificherò con la tua cintura, e gli darò in mano la tua podestà; ed egli sarà per padre agli abitanti di Gerusalemme, ed alla casa di Giuda.
22 I shal place the key of David's palace on his shoulder; when he opens, no one will close, when hecloses, no one wil open.	22 E metterò la chiave della casa di Davide sopra la sua spalla; ed egli aprirà, e niuno serrerà; e serrerà, e niuno aprirà.
23 I shal drive him like a nail into a firm place; and he wil become a throne of glory for his family.	23 E lo ficcherò, come un chiodo, in un luogo fermo; ed egli sarà per trono di gloria alla casa di suo padre.
24 'On him wil depend al the glory of his family, the descendants and offspring, al the vessels of smalcapacity too, from cups to pitchers.	24 E si appenderà a quel chiodo tutta la gloria della casa di suo padre, rampolli, e piantoni; tutti gli arredi minori, da’ vasellamenti delle coppe fino a tutti i vasellamenti delle guastade.
25 That day, declares Yahweh Sabaoth, the nail driven into a firm place wil give way, wil be torn out andfal . And the whole load hanging on it will be lost. For Yahweh has spoken.'	25 In quel giorno, dice il Signor degli eserciti, sarà tolto il chiodo, il quale era stato fitto in luogo fermo; e sarà riciso, e caderà; e il carico che riposava sopra esso andrà in ruina; perciocchè il Signore ha parlato.
