1 Prophecy on the Valley of Vision: Now what is the matter with you for you al to be up on thehousetops,	1 Annunzio pesante contro la valle di visione: Che hai anche tu, che ascende la gente tua sui solai tutta quanta?
2 ful of excitement, boisterous town, joyful city? Your slain have not fal en to the sword nor died in battle.	2 Città piena di tumulto, piena di popolo, città esultante: i tuoi morti non sono stati uccisi di spada, né morti in battaglia.
3 Your leaders have al fled together, captured without a bow between them, al who could be found havebeen captured at a blow, far though they had fled.	3 Tutti i tuoi magnati daccordo sono fuggiti, e sono stati crudelmente legati: tutti que', che sono stati trovati, sono stati insieme messi in catene, benché fuggiti lontano.
4 That is why I said, 'Turn your eyes away from me, let me weep bitterly; do not try to comfort me overthe ruin of the daughter of my people.'	4 Per questo ho io detto: Ritiratevi da me; io piangerò amaramente: non vi studiate di consolarmi nella desolazione della figlia del popol mio;
5 For this is a day of rout, panic and confusion, the work of the Lord Yahweh Sabaoth in the Val ey ofVision. The wal is sapped, cries for help ring out to the mountains.	5 Perocché giorno di strage, e di devastamento, e di gemiti fissato dal Signore Dio degli eserciti per la valle di visione. 10 You surveyed the houses in Jerusalem and pul ed houses down to strengthen the wal .	10 E avete contato il numero delle case di Gerusalemme, e avete distrutte delle case, per fortificare le mura,
11 Between the two wal s you made a reservoir for the waters of the old pool. But you did not look to theCreator of these things, you did not look to the One who fashioned them long ago.	11 E avete fatto un lago tralle due mura presso la vecchia piscina, e non avete alzati gli occhi a colui, che la avea fatta; non avete neppur da lungi veduto il suo autore.
12 That day the Lord Yahweh Sabaoth cal ed on you to weep and mourn, to shave your heads, to put onsackcloth.	12 E il Signore Dio degli eserciti vi chiamerà in quel dì al pianto, e ai gemiti, e a rader la testa, e cingervi di sacco.
13 But instead there is joy and merriment, killing of oxen, slaughtering of sheep, eating of meat, drinkingof wine, 'Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we shal be dead.'	13 Ed ecco tripudj, e allegrie, un ammazzar di vitelli, scannar capretti, mangiar le carni, e bere il vino. Mangiamo, e beviamo, che domane morremo.
14 Then Yahweh Sabaoth revealed this to my ears, 'This guilt wil never be forgiven you, until you aredead,' says the Lord Yahweh Sabaoth.	14 Ed è stata rivelata alle mie orecchie la voce del Signor degli eserciti: Non sarà perdonata a voi questa iniquità, fino che muoiate, dice il Signore Dio degli eserciti.
15 The Lord Yahweh Sabaoth says this: Go and find that steward, Shebna, the master of the palace:	15 Il Signore Dio degli eserciti dice: Va da colui, che abita nel tabernacolo, da Sobna preposto del tempio, e gli dirai:
16 'What do you own here, who gave you the right for you to hew yourself a tomb here?' He is hewinghimself a tomb, is digging a resting-place for himself in the rock.	16 Che fai tu qui? O come tu qui, che ti se' preparata qui una sepoltura, hai fatto intagliare con gran diligenza in luogo elevato un monumento, un tabernacolo nel sasso.
17 But Yahweh wil throw you away, strong as you are, wil grasp you in his grip,	17 Ecco che il Signore, ti farà portar via come si porta un gallo, e ti alzeranno come uomo imbacuccato.
18 will screw you up into a bal , a ball thrown into a vast space. There you will die, with your splendidchariots, disgrace to your master's palace!	18 Darà a te corona di tribolazione,ti sbalzerà come palla in piazza larga,e spaziosa: quivi tu morirai, e quivistarà il cocchio della tua gloria, o vitupero della casa del tuo Signore.
19 I shal hound you from your office, I shal snatch you from your post	19 E ti caccerò dal tuo posto, e ti deporrò dal tuo ministero.
20 and, when that day comes, I shal summon my servant Eliakim son of Hilkiah.	20 E in quel giorno chiamerò il mio servo Eliacim figliuolo di Helcia,
21 I shal dress him in your tunic, I shal put your sash round his waist, I shall invest him with yourauthority; and he wil be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem and to the House of Judah.	21 E lo rivestirò della tua tonaca, e lo illustrerò col tuo cingolo, e la tua potestà porrò nelle mani di lui, ed ei sarà come padre agli abitatori di Gerusalemme, e alla casa di Giuda.
22 I shal place the key of David's palace on his shoulder; when he opens, no one will close, when hecloses, no one wil open.	22 E porrò sull'omero di lui la chiave della casa di David, e aprirà, né altri potrà chiudere, e chiuderà, né altri potrà aprire.
23 I shal drive him like a nail into a firm place; and he wil become a throne of glory for his family.	23 E lo porrò come un chiovo fitto in luogo stabile, ed ei sarà quasi trono di gloria alla casa del padre suo.
24 'On him wil depend al the glory of his family, the descendants and offspring, al the vessels of smalcapacity too, from cups to pitchers.	24 E da lui penderà tutta la gloria della casa del padre di lui, arnesi di varie sorti, vasi piccoli d'ogni maniera dai crateri fino ad ogni strumento da musica.
25 That day, declares Yahweh Sabaoth, the nail driven into a firm place wil give way, wil be torn out andfal . And the whole load hanging on it will be lost. For Yahweh has spoken.'	25 In quel giorno, dice il Signore degli eserciti, sarà levato il chiodo fitto in luogo sicuro, e sarà rotto, e andrà per terra, e perirà tutto quello, che era ad esso attaccato; perocché il Signore ha parlato.
