Isaiah 11

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBLES DES PEUPLES
1 A shoot wil spring from the stock of Jesse, a new shoot will grow from his roots.	1 Un rejeton sortira de la souche de Jessé, une pousse se lèvera de ses racines.
2 On him wil rest the spirit of Yahweh, the spirit of wisdom and insight, the spirit of counsel and power,the spirit of knowledge and fear of Yahweh:	2 Sur lui reposera l’Esprit de Yahvé, esprit de sagesse et d’intelligence, esprit de conseil et de force, esprit de connaissance et de crainte de Yahvé.
3 his inspiration wil lie in fearing Yahweh. His judgement wil not be by appearances. his verdict notgiven on hearsay.	3 Il ne jugera pas sur les apparences, il ne décidera pas sur un bruit qui court.
4 He will judge the weak with integrity and give fair sentence for the humblest in the land. He will strikethe country with the rod of his mouth and with the breath of his lips bring death to the wicked.	4 Il jugera les petits avec justice, il défendra les droits des pauvres du pays. Sa parole, comme une trique, frappera le violent, son verdict, comme une bourrasque, emportera le méchant.
5 Uprightness wil be the belt around his waist, and constancy the belt about his hips.	5 La justice sera son ceinturon, toujours là sur ses reins avec la vérité.
6 The wolf will live with the lamb, the panther lie down with the kid, calf, lion and fat-stock beast together,with a little boy to lead them.	6 Le loup habitera avec l’agneau, le léopard se couchera à côté du chevreau, le veau et le lion s’en iront au même pâturage sous la conduite d’un petit garçon.
7 The cow and the bear will graze, their young wil lie down together. The lion wil eat hay like the ox.	7 La vache et l’ourse seront amies, leurs petits dormiront ensemble, et le lion mangera de la paille comme le bœuf.
8 The infant wil play over the den of the adder; the baby wil put his hand into the viper's lair.	8 Le bébé jouera sur le nid du serpent, l’enfant à peine sevré mettra la main dans le trou de la vipère.
9 No hurt, no harm wil be done on all my holy mountain, for the country wil be full of knowledge ofYahweh as the waters cover the sea.	9 On ne fera plus de mal, on ne détruira plus sur toute ma montagne sainte, car la connaissance de Yahvé couvrira la terre comme les eaux le domaine des mers.
10 That day, the root of Jesse, standing as a signal for the peoples, will be sought out by the nations andits home will be glorious.	10 En ces jours-là, la “racine de Jessé” sera pour les peuples un signe de ralliement; les nations la chercheront et le lieu de sa demeure sera glorieux.
11 When that day comes, the Lord wil raise his hand a second time to ransom the remnant of his people,those stil left, from Assyria, from Egypt, from Pathros, Cush and Elam, from Shinar, Hamath and the islands ofthe Sea.	11 En ce jour-là, de nouveau, le Seigneur lèvera la main pour rapatrier le reste de son peuple d’Assyrie et d’Égypte, de Patros, de Kouch et d’Élam, de Chinéar, de Hamat et des îles de la mer: tous les survivants.
12 He wil hoist a signal for the nations and assemble the outcasts of Israel; he wil gather the scatteredpeople of Judah from the four corners of the earth.	12 Il lèvera un signal, visible dans les nations, et rassemblera les déportés d’Israël; il regroupera tous ceux de Juda qui avaient été dispersés aux quatre coins de la terre.
13 Then Ephraim's jealousy wil cease and Judah's enemies be suppressed; Ephraim wil no longer bejealous of Judah nor Judah any longer hostile to Ephraim,	13 Alors la jalousie d’Éphraïm cessera, les oppresseurs de Juda seront éliminés, Éphraïm n’attaquera plus Juda et Juda n’opprimera plus Éphraïm.
14 but together they will swoop on the Philistines' back, to the west, and together pil age the people ofthe east. Edom and Moab wil be subject to their sway and the Ammonites wil obey them.	14 Ils voleront vers les collines des Philistins, près de la mer, ensemble ils pilleront les fils de l’Orient. Édom et Moab leur seront soumis et les fils d’Amon leur obéiront.
15 Then Yahweh wil dry up the gulf of the Sea of Egypt, he will raise his hand against the River with theheat of his breath. He wil divide it into seven streams for them to cross dry-shod.	15 Yahvé asséchera la lagune de la mer d’Égypte, il lèvera la main contre le fleuve et la violence de son souffle le divisera en sept bras. On les passera en sandales.
16 And there wil be a highway for the remnant of his people for those stil left, from Assyria, as there wasfor Israel when he came out of Egypt.	16 Pour le reste de son peuple, pour les survivants d’Assyrie, il y aura une route comme autrefois pour Israël lorsqu’il montait du pays d’Égypte.
