NEW JERUSALEMKING JAMES BIBLE
[Psalm Of Asaph] God takes his stand in the divine assembly, surrounded by the gods he givesjudgement.1 God standeth in the congregation of the mighty; he judgeth among the gods.
'How much longer wil you give unjust judgements and uphold the prestige of the wicked?2 How long will ye judge unjustly, and accept the persons of the wicked? Selah.
Let the weak and the orphan have justice, be fair to the wretched and the destitute.Pause3 Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy.
'Rescue the weak and the needy, save them from the clutches of the wicked.4 Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked.
'Ignorant and uncomprehending, they wander in darkness, while the foundations of the world aretottering.5 They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course.
I had thought, "Are you gods, are al of you sons of the Most High?"6 I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.
No! you wil die as human beings do, as one man, princes, you will fal .'7 But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes.
Arise, God, judge the world, for al nations belong to you.8 Arise, O God, judge the earth: for thou shalt inherit all nations.
