NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 [Psalm Of Asaph] God, the pagans have invaded your heritage, they have defiled your holy temple,they have laid Jerusalem in ruins,	1 Salmo. Di Asaf. O Dio, sono venuti i pagani nella tua eredità; hanno profanato il tuo santo tempio, hanno ridotto Gerusalemme in un cumulo di macerie.
2 they have left the corpses of your servants as food for the birds of the air, the bodies of your faithful forthe wild beasts.	2 Hanno dato i corpi dei tuoi servi in pasto agli uccelli del cielo, la carne dei tuoi fedeli agli animali della campagna.
3 Around Jerusalem they have shed blood like water, leaving no one to bury them.	3 Hanno versato come acqua il loro sangue, intorno a Gerusalemme, senza che alcuno desse loro sepoltura.
4 We are the scorn of our neighbours, the butt and laughing-stock of those around us.	4 Siamo diventati un obbrobrio per i nostri vicini, scherno e ludibrio di coloro che ci stanno intorno.
5 How long will you be angry, Yahweh? For ever? Is your jealousy to go on smouldering like a fire?	5 Fino a quando, o Signore? Sarai forse adirato per sempre? Arderà come fuoco la tua gelosia?
6 Pour out your anger on the nations who do not acknowledge you, and on the kingdoms that do not callon your name;	6 Riversa sui pagani il tuo furore, i quali non hanno conoscenza di te, e sui regni che non invocano il tuo nome;
7 for they have devoured Jacob and devastated his home.	7 poiché hanno divorato Giacobbe e hanno devastato la tua dimora.
8 Do not count against us the guilt of former generations, in your tenderness come quickly to meet us,for we are utterly weakened;	8 Non ti ricordare contro di noi delle colpe antiche dei nostri avi. Affréttati a venirci incontro con la tua misericordia, poiché siamo ridotti nella più grande miseria.
9 help us, God our Saviour, for the glory of your name; Yahweh, wipe away our sins, rescue us for thesake of your name.	9 Soccorrici, o Dio, nostro salvatore, in ragione della gloria del tuo nome; salvaci e perdona le nostre colpe, in vista del tuo nome.
10 Why should the nations ask, 'Where is their God?' Let us see the nations suffer vengeance forshedding your servants' blood.	10 Perché dovrebbero dire le genti: "Dov'è il loro Dio?". Si manifesti ai nostri occhi fra i popoli la vendetta per il sangue dei tuoi servi che è stato versato.
11 May the groans of the captive reach you, by your great strength save those who are condemned todeath!	11 Giunga fino al tuo cospetto il gemito dei prigionieri; secondo la potenza del tuo braccio salva quelli che sono votati alla morte.
12 Repay our neighbours sevenfold for the insults they have level ed at you, Lord.	12 Rendi il settuplo ai nostri vicini, nel loro seno, dell'ignominia che hanno gettato su di te, o Signore.
13 And we, your people, the flock that you pasture, will thank you for ever, wil recite your praises fromage to age.	13 Quanto a noi, tuo popolo e gregge del tuo pascolo, ti renderemo grazie per sempre, di generazione in generazione narreremo le tue lodi.
