Psalms 79

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 [Psalm Of Asaph] God, the pagans have invaded your heritage, they have defiled your holy temple,they have laid Jerusalem in ruins,	1 Salmo de Asaf. Oh Dios, los paganos invadieron tu herencia, profanaron tu santo Templo, hicieron de Jerusalén un montón de ruinas;
2 they have left the corpses of your servants as food for the birds of the air, the bodies of your faithful forthe wild beasts.	2 dieron los cadáveres de tus servidores como pasto a las aves del cielo, y la carne de tus amigos, a las fieras de la tierra.
3 Around Jerusalem they have shed blood like water, leaving no one to bury them.	3 Derramaron su sangre como agua alrededor de Jerusalén y nadie les daba sepultura.
4 We are the scorn of our neighbours, the butt and laughing-stock of those around us.	4 Fuimos el escarnio de nuestros vecinos, la irrisión y la burla de los que nos rodean.
5 How long will you be angry, Yahweh? For ever? Is your jealousy to go on smouldering like a fire?	5 ¿Hasta cuándo, Señor? ¿Estarás enojado para siempre? ¿Arderán tus celos como un fuego?
6 Pour out your anger on the nations who do not acknowledge you, and on the kingdoms that do not callon your name;	6 Derrama tu furor sobre las naciones que no te reconocen, y sobre los reinos que no invocan tu Nombre,
7 for they have devoured Jacob and devastated his home.	7 porque han devorado a Jacob, y han devastado su dominio.
8 Do not count against us the guilt of former generations, in your tenderness come quickly to meet us,for we are utterly weakened;	8 No recuerdes para nuestro mal las culpas de otros tiempos; compadécete pronto de nosotros, porque estamos totalmente abatidos.
9 help us, God our Saviour, for the glory of your name; Yahweh, wipe away our sins, rescue us for thesake of your name.	9 Ayúdanos, Dios salvador nuestro, por el honor de tu Nombre; líbranos y perdona nuestros pecados, a causa de tu Nombre.
10 Why should the nations ask, 'Where is their God?' Let us see the nations suffer vengeance forshedding your servants' blood.	10 ¿Por qué han de decir los paganos: «¿Dónde está su Dios?». Que se ponga de manifiesto entre las naciones, ante nuestros propios ojos, cómo has vengado la sangre de tus servidores, que ha sido derramada.
11 May the groans of the captive reach you, by your great strength save those who are condemned todeath!	11 Llegue hasta tu presencia el lamento de los cautivos, preserva con tu brazo poderoso a los que están condenados a muerte.
12 Repay our neighbours sevenfold for the insults they have level ed at you, Lord.	12 Devuelve siete veces a nuestros vecinos la afrenta que te hicieron, Señor.
13 And we, your people, the flock that you pasture, will thank you for ever, wil recite your praises fromage to age.	13 Y nosotros, que somos tu pueblo y las ovejas de tu rebaño, te daremos gracias para siempre, y cantaremos tus alabanzas por todas las generaciones.
