NEW JERUSALEM	DIODATI
1 [Psalm Of Asaph] God, the pagans have invaded your heritage, they have defiled your holy temple,they have laid Jerusalem in ruins,	1 Salmo di Asaf. O DIO, le nazioni sono entrate nella tua eredità, Hanno contaminato il Tempio della tua santità, Hanno ridotta Gerusalemme in monti di ruine.
2 they have left the corpses of your servants as food for the birds of the air, the bodies of your faithful forthe wild beasts.	2 Hanno dati i corpi morti de’ tuoi servitori Agli uccelli del cielo per cibo; E la carne de’ tuoi santi alle fiere della terra.
3 Around Jerusalem they have shed blood like water, leaving no one to bury them.	3 Hanno sparso il sangue loro come acqua Intorno a Gerusalemme; E non vi è stato alcuno che li seppellisse.
4 We are the scorn of our neighbours, the butt and laughing-stock of those around us.	4 Noi siamo stati in vituperio a’ nostri vicini; In ischerno, e in derisione a quelli che stanno d’intorno a noi.
5 How long will you be angry, Yahweh? For ever? Is your jealousy to go on smouldering like a fire?	5 Infino a quando, Signore, sarai adirato? La tua gelosia arderà ella come un fuoco in perpetuo?
6 Pour out your anger on the nations who do not acknowledge you, and on the kingdoms that do not callon your name;	6 Spandi l’ira tua sopra le genti che non ti conoscono, E sopra i regni che non invocano il tuo Nome.
7 for they have devoured Jacob and devastated his home.	7 Perciocchè essi hanno divorato Giacobbe, Ed hanno desolata la sua stanza.
8 Do not count against us the guilt of former generations, in your tenderness come quickly to meet us,for we are utterly weakened;	8 Non ridurti a memoria contro a noi l’iniquità de’ passati; Affrettati, venganci incontro le tue compassioni; Perciocchè noi siam grandemente miseri.
9 help us, God our Saviour, for the glory of your name; Yahweh, wipe away our sins, rescue us for thesake of your name.	9 Soccorrici, o Dio della nostra salute, per amor della gloria del tuo Nome, E liberaci; e fa’ il purgamento de’ nostri peccati, per amor del tuo Nome
10 Why should the nations ask, 'Where is their God?' Let us see the nations suffer vengeance forshedding your servants' blood.	10 Perchè direbbero le genti: Ove è l’Iddio loro? Fa’ che sia conosciuta fra le genti, nel nostro cospetto, La vendetta del sangue sparso de’ tuoi servitori.
11 May the groans of the captive reach you, by your great strength save those who are condemned todeath!	11 Vengano davanti a te i gemiti de’ prigioni; Secondo la grandezza del tuo braccio, Scampa quelli che son condannati a morte.
12 Repay our neighbours sevenfold for the insults they have level ed at you, Lord.	12 E rendi a’ nostri vicini in seno, a sette doppi, Il vituperio che ti hanno fatto, o Signore.
13 And we, your people, the flock that you pasture, will thank you for ever, wil recite your praises fromage to age.	13 E noi, tuo popolo, e greggia del tuo pasco, Ti celebreremo in perpetuo; E racconteremo la tua lode per ogni età
