Psalms 79

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBLIA
1 [Psalm Of Asaph] God, the pagans have invaded your heritage, they have defiled your holy temple,they have laid Jerusalem in ruins,	1 Salmo. De Asaf. Oh Dios, han invadido tu heredad las gentes, han profanado tu sagrado Templo; han dejado en ruinas a Jerusalén,
2 they have left the corpses of your servants as food for the birds of the air, the bodies of your faithful forthe wild beasts.	2 han entregado el cadáver de tus siervos por comida a los pájaros del cielo, la carne de tus amigos a las bestias de la tierra.
3 Around Jerusalem they have shed blood like water, leaving no one to bury them.	3 Han derramado como agua su sangre en torno a Jerusalén, ¡y nadie sepultaba!
4 We are the scorn of our neighbours, the butt and laughing-stock of those around us.	4 Nos hemos hecho la irrisión de los vecinos, burla y escarnio de nuestros circundantes.
5 How long will you be angry, Yahweh? For ever? Is your jealousy to go on smouldering like a fire?	5 ¿Hasta cuándo, Yahveh, tu cólera? ¿hasta el fin? ¿han de quemar tus celos como fuego?
6 Pour out your anger on the nations who do not acknowledge you, and on the kingdoms that do not callon your name;	6 Derrama tu furor sobre las gentes, que no te reconocen, y sobre los reinos que tu nombre no invocan.
7 for they have devoured Jacob and devastated his home.	7 Porque han devorado a Jacob y han devastado su dominio.
8 Do not count against us the guilt of former generations, in your tenderness come quickly to meet us,for we are utterly weakened;	8 No recuerdes contra nosotros culpas de antepasados, vengan presto a nuestro encuentro tus ternuras, pues estamos abatidos del todo;
9 help us, God our Saviour, for the glory of your name; Yahweh, wipe away our sins, rescue us for thesake of your name.	9 ayúdanos, Dios de nuestra salvación, por amor de la gloria de tu nombre; líbranos, borra nuestros pecados, por causa de tu nombre.
10 Why should the nations ask, 'Where is their God?' Let us see the nations suffer vengeance forshedding your servants' blood.	10 ¿Por qué han de decir las gentes: «¿Dónde está su Dios?» ¡Que entre las gentes se conozca, a nuestros propios ojos, la venganza de la sangre de tus siervos derramada!
11 May the groans of the captive reach you, by your great strength save those who are condemned todeath!	11 ¡Llegue hasta ti el suspiro del cautivo, con la grandeza de tu brazo preserva a los hijos de la muerte!
12 Repay our neighbours sevenfold for the insults they have level ed at you, Lord.	12 ¡Devuelve siete veces a nuestros vecinos, en su entraña, su afrenta, la afrenta que te han hecho, Señor!
13 And we, your people, the flock that you pasture, will thank you for ever, wil recite your praises fromage to age.	13 Y nosotros, tu pueblo, rebaño de tu pasto, eternamente te daremos gracias, de edad en edad repetiremos tu alabanza.
