¹ [Psalm Of Asaph] God, the pagans have invaded your heritage, they have defiled your holy temple,they have laid Jerusalem in ruins,	¹ Salmo. Di Asaf.O Dio, nella tua eredità sono entrate le genti:hanno profanato il tuo santo tempio,hanno ridotto Gerusalemme in macerie.
² they have left the corpses of your servants as food for the birds of the air, the bodies of your faithful forthe wild beasts.	² Hanno abbandonato i cadaveri dei tuoi serviin pasto agli uccelli del cielo,la carne dei tuoi fedeli agli animali selvatici.
³ Around Jerusalem they have shed blood like water, leaving no one to bury them.	³ Hanno versato il loro sangue come acquaintorno a Gerusalemmee nessuno seppelliva.
⁴ We are the scorn of our neighbours, the butt and laughing-stock of those around us.	⁴ Siamo divenuti il disprezzo dei nostri vicini,lo scherno e la derisione di chi ci sta intorno.
⁵ How long will you be angry, Yahweh? For ever? Is your jealousy to go on smouldering like a fire?	⁵ Fino a quando sarai adirato, Signore: per sempre?Arderà come fuoco la tua gelosia?
⁶ Pour out your anger on the nations who do not acknowledge you, and on the kingdoms that do not callon your name;	⁶ Riversa il tuo sdegno sulle genti che non ti riconosconoe sui regni che non invocano il tuo nome,
⁷ for they have devoured Jacob and devastated his home.	⁷ perché hanno divorato Giacobbe,hanno devastato la sua dimora.
⁸ Do not count against us the guilt of former generations, in your tenderness come quickly to meet us,for we are utterly weakened;	⁸ Non imputare a noi le colpe dei nostri antenati:presto ci venga incontro la tua misericordia,perché siamo così poveri!
⁹ help us, God our Saviour, for the glory of your name; Yahweh, wipe away our sins, rescue us for thesake of your name.	⁹ Aiutaci, o Dio, nostra salvezza,per la gloria del tuo nome;liberaci e perdona i nostri peccatia motivo del tuo nome.
¹⁰ Why should the nations ask, 'Where is their God?' Let us see the nations suffer vengeance forshedding your servants' blood.	¹⁰ Perché le genti dovrebbero dire:«Dov’è il loro Dio?».Si conosca tra le genti, sotto i nostri occhi,la vendetta per il sangue versato dei tuoi servi.
¹¹ May the groans of the captive reach you, by your great strength save those who are condemned todeath!	¹¹ Giunga fino a te il gemito dei prigionieri;con la grandezza del tuo bracciosalva i condannati a morte.
¹² Repay our neighbours sevenfold for the insults they have level ed at you, Lord.	¹² Fa’ ricadere sette volte sui nostri vicini, dentro di loro,l’insulto con cui ti hanno insultato, Signore.
¹³ And we, your people, the flock that you pasture, will thank you for ever, wil recite your praises fromage to age.	¹³ E noi, tuo popolo e gregge del tuo pascolo,ti renderemo grazie per sempre;di generazione in generazione narreremo la tua lode.
