2 his tent is pitched in Salem, his dwel ing is in Zion;	2 Renowned in Judah is God, whose name is great in Israel.
3 there he has broken the lightning-flashes of the bow, shield and sword and war.Pause	3 On Salem is God's tent, a shelter on Zion.
4 Radiant you are, and renowned for the mountains of booty	4 There the flashing arrows were shattered, shield, sword, and weapons of war. Selah
5 taken from them. Heroes are now sleeping their last sleep, the warriors' arms have failed them;	5 Terrible and awesome are you, stronger than the ancient mountains.
6 at your reproof, God of Jacob, chariot and horse stand stunned.	6 Despoiled are the bold warriors; they sleep their final sleep; the hands of all the mighty have failed.
7 You, you alone, strike terror! Who can hold his ground in your presence when your anger strikes?	7 At your roar, O God of Jacob, chariots and steeds lay still.
8 From heaven your verdicts thunder, the earth is silent with dread	8 So terrible and awesome are you; who can stand before you and your great anger?
9 when God takes his stand to give judgement, to save all the humble of the earth.Pause	9 From the heavens you pronounced sentence; the earth was terrified and reduced to silence,
10 Human anger serves only to praise you, the survivors of your anger will huddle round you.	10 When you arose, O God, for judgment to deliver the afflicted of the land. Selah
11 Make and fulfil your vows to Yahweh your God, let those who surround him make offerings to theAwesome One.	11 Even wrathful Edom praises you; the remnant of Hamath keeps your feast.
12 He cuts short the breath of princes, strikes terror in earthly kings.	12 Make and keep vows to the LORD your God. May all present bring gifts to this awesome God,
	13 Who checks the pride of princes, inspires awe among the kings of earth.
