Psalms 41

NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 [For the choirmaster Psalm Of David] Blessed is anyone who cares for the poor and the weak; in timeof trouble Yahweh rescues him.	1 Al maestro di coro. Salmo. Di Davide.
2 Yahweh protects him, gives him life and happiness on earth. Do not abandon him to his enemies'pleasure!	2 Beato colui che è sollecito del misero: nel giorno della sventura lo libererà il Signore.
3 Yahweh sustains him on his bed of sickness; you transform altogether the bed where he lies sick.	3 Il Signore lo custodirà e gli darà vita, lo farà felice sulla terra e non lo abbandonerà alle brame dei suoi nemici.
4 For my part I said, 'Yahweh, take pity on me! Cure me for I have sinned against you.'	4 Il Signore lo sosterrà sul letto del dolore, nella sua infermità tu rovesci il suo giaciglio.
5 My enemies speak to me only of disaster, 'When wil he die and his name disappear?'	5 Io ho detto: "Guarisci l'anima mia, poiché ho peccato contro di te".
6 When people come to see me their talk is hol ow, when they get out they spread the news with spite intheir hearts.	6 I miei nemici mi augurano del male: "Quando morrà e sarà estirpato il suo nome?".
7 Al who hate me whisper together about me and reckon I deserve the misery I suffer.	7 Se uno viene a farmi visita, falsità parla il suo cuore; raccoglie per sé indizi funesti, esce fuori e sparla.
8 'A fatal sickness has a grip on him; now that he is down, he will never get up again.'	8 D'accordo sussurrano contro di me quanti mi odiano, facendo su di me previsioni funeste:
9 Even my trusted friend on whom I relied, who shared my table, takes advantage of me.	9 "Un male pernicioso s'è riversato su di lui; lui che giace infermo mai più si alzerà".
10 But you, Yahweh, take pity on me! Put me on my feet and I wil give them their due.	10 Anche il mio intimo amico, quello in cui io nutrivo fiducia, quello che mangiava il mio stesso pane, ha alzato il calcagno contro di me.
11 This wil convince me that you delight in me, if my enemy no longer exults over me.	11 Ma tu, o Signore, abbi di me pietà, fa' che io mi alzi e possa ripagar loro quanto si meritano.
12 Then you wil keep me unscathed, and set me in your presence for ever.	12 In questo io conosco che tu mi vuoi bene, se il mio nemico non trionferà su di me.
13 Blessed be Yahweh, the God of Israel, from eternity to eternity. Amen, Amen.	13 Quanto a me, nella mia innocenza mi sosterrai e alla tua presenza mi farai stare per sempre.
	14 Benedetto il Signore, Dio d'Israele, da sempre e per sempre. Amen, amen.
