Psalms 41

1 [For the choirmaster Psalm Of David] Blessed is anyone who cares for the poor and the weak; in timeof trouble Yahweh rescues him.	1 Al maestro del coro. Salmo. Di Davide.
2 Yahweh protects him, gives him life and happiness on earth. Do not abandon him to his enemies'pleasure!	2 Beato l’uomo che ha cura del debole:nel giorno della sventura il Signore lo libera.
3 Yahweh sustains him on his bed of sickness; you transform altogether the bed where he lies sick.	3 Il Signore veglierà su di lui,lo farà vivere beato sulla terra,non lo abbandonerà in preda ai nemici.
4 For my part I said, 'Yahweh, take pity on me! Cure me for I have sinned against you.'	4 Il Signore lo sosterrà sul letto del dolore;tu lo assisti quando giace ammalato.
5 My enemies speak to me only of disaster, 'When wil he die and his name disappear?'	5 Io ho detto: «Pietà di me, Signore,guariscimi: contro di te ho peccato».
6 When people come to see me their talk is hol ow, when they get out they spread the news with spite intheir hearts.	6 I miei nemici mi augurano il male:«Quando morirà e perirà il suo nome?».
7 Al who hate me whisper together about me and reckon I deserve the misery I suffer.	7 Chi viene a visitarmi dice il falso,il suo cuore cova cattiveriae, uscito fuori, sparla.
8 'A fatal sickness has a grip on him; now that he is down, he will never get up again.'	8 Tutti insieme, quelli che mi odianocontro di me tramano malefìci,hanno per me pensieri maligni:
9 Even my trusted friend on whom I relied, who shared my table, takes advantage of me.	9 «Lo ha colpito una malattia infernale;dal letto dove è steso non potrà più rialzarsi».
10 But you, Yahweh, take pity on me! Put me on my feet and I wil give them their due.	10 Anche l’amico in cui confidavo,che con me divideva il pane,contro di me alza il suo piede.
11 This wil convince me that you delight in me, if my enemy no longer exults over me.	11 Ma tu, Signore, abbi pietà, rialzami,che io li possa ripagare.
12 Then you wil keep me unscathed, and set me in your presence for ever.	12 Da questo saprò che tu mi vuoi bene:se non trionfa su di me il mio nemico.
13 Blessed be Yahweh, the God of Israel, from eternity to eternity. Amen, Amen.	13 Per la mia integrità tu mi sostienie mi fai stare alla tua presenza per sempre.
	14 Sia benedetto il Signore, Dio d’Israele,da sempre e per sempre. Amen, amen.
