1 [Of David Poem] How blessed are those whose offence is forgiven, whose sin blotted out.	1 Di Davide. Maskil.Beato l’uomo a cui è tolta la colpae coperto il peccato.
2 How blessed are those to whom Yahweh imputes no guilt, whose spirit harbours no deceit.	2 Beato l’uomo a cui Dio non imputa il delittoe nel cui spirito non è inganno.
3 I said not a word, but my bones wasted away from groaning al the day;	3 Tacevo e si logoravano le mie ossa,mentre ruggivo tutto il giorno.
4 day and night your hand lay heavy upon me; my heart grew parched as stubble in summerdrought.Pause	4 Giorno e notte pesava su di me la tua mano,come nell’arsura estiva si inaridiva il mio vigore.
5 I made my sin known to you, did not conceal my guilt. I said, 'I shal confess my offence to Yahweh.'And you, for your part, took away my guilt, forgave my sin.Pause	5 Ti ho fatto conoscere il mio peccato,non ho coperto la mia colpa.Ho detto: «Confesserò al Signore le mie iniquità»e tu hai tolto la mia colpa e il mio peccato.
6 That is why each of your faithful ones prays to you in time of distress. Even if great floods overflow,they will never reach your faithful.	6 Per questo ti prega ogni fedelenel tempo dell’angoscia;quando irromperanno grandi acquenon potranno raggiungerlo.
7 You are a refuge for me, you guard me in trouble, with songs of deliverance you surround me.Pause	7 Tu sei il mio rifugio, mi liberi dall’angoscia,mi circondi di canti di liberazione:
8 I shal instruct you and teach you the way to go; I shall not take my eyes off you.	8 «Ti istruirò e ti insegnerò la via da seguire;con gli occhi su di te, ti darò consiglio.
9 Be not like a horse or a mule; that does not understand bridle or bit; if you advance to master them,there is no means of bringing them near.	9 Non siate privi d’intelligenza come il cavallo e come il mulo:la loro foga si piega con il morso e le briglie,se no, a te non si avvicinano».
10 Countless troubles are in store for the wicked, but one who trusts in Yahweh is enfolded in his faithfullove.	10 Molti saranno i dolori del malvagio,ma l’amore circonda chi confida nel Signore.
11 Rejoice in Yahweh, exult al you upright, shout for joy, you honest of heart.	11 Rallegratevi nel Signore ed esultate, o giusti!Voi tutti, retti di cuore, gridate di gioia!
