and passed the shafts through the rings on the sides of the ark, by which to carry it.5 et quos misit in anulos, qui erant in lateribus arcae, ad portandum eam.
He also made a mercy-seat of pure gold, two and a half cubits long and one and a half cubits wide,6 Fecit et propitiatorium de auro mundissimo: duorum cubitorum et dimidii in longitudine et cubiti ac semis in latitudine.
and model ed two great winged creatures of beaten gold, putting them at the two ends of the mercy-seat,7 Duos etiam cherubim ex auro ductili fecit ex utraque parte propitiatorii:
one winged creature at one end and the other winged creature at the other end, making the wingedcreatures of a piece with the mercy-seat at either end.8 cherub unum ex summitate unius partis et cherub alterum ex summitate partis alterius; duos cherubim ex singulis summitatibus propitiatorii
The winged creatures had their wings spread upwards, protecting the ark with their wings and facingeach other, their faces being towards the mercy-seat.9 extendentes alas sursum et tegentes alis suis propitiatorium seque mutuo et illud respicientes.
He made the table of acacia wood, two cubits long, one cubit wide and one and a half cubits high,10 Fecit et mensam de lignis acaciae in longitudine duorum cubitorum et in latitudine unius cubiti, quae habebat in altitudine cubitum ac semissem;
and made a gold moulding all round it.11 circumdeditque eam auro mundissimo et fecit illi coronam auream per gyrum.
He fitted it with struts a hand's breadth wide and made a gold moulding round the struts.12 Fecit ei quoque limbum aureum quattuor digitorum per circuitum et super illum coronam auream.
He cast four gold rings for it and fixed the rings at the four corners where the four legs were.13 Fudit et quattuor circulos aureos, quos posuit in quattuor angulis per singulos pedes mensae
The rings lay close to the struts to hold the shafts for carrying the table.14 iuxta limbum; misitque in eos vectes, ut possit mensa portari.
He made the shafts of acacia wood and overlaid them with gold; these were for carrying the table.15 Ipsos quoque vectes fecit de lignis acaciae et circumdedit eos auro;
He made the accessories which were to go on the table: its dishes, cups, jars and libation bowls, ofpure gold.16 et vasa ad diversos usus mensae, acetabula, phialas et cyathos et crateras ex auro puro, in quibus offerenda sunt libamina.

Six branches sprang from its sides: three of the lamp-stand's branches from one side, three of thelamp-stand's branches from the other.18 sex in utroque latere, tres calami ex parte una et tres ex altera;
The first branch carried three cups shaped like almond blossoms, each with its calyx and bud; thesecond branch, too, carried three cups shaped like almond blossoms, each with its calyx and bud, and similarlyal six branches springing from the lamp-stand.19 tres scyphi in nucis modum in calamo uno sphaerulaeque simul et flores et tres scyphi instar nucis in calamo altero sphaerulaeque simul et flores. Aequum erat opus sex calamorum, qui procedebant de hastili candelabri.
The lamp-stand itself carried four cups shaped like almond blossoms, each with its calyx and bud:20 In ipso autem hastili erant quattuor scyphi in nucis modum sphaerulaeque et flores;
one calyx under the first two branches springing from the lamp-stand, one calyx under the next pairof branches and one calyx under the last pair of branches -- thus for al six branches springing from the lamp-stand.21 singulae sphaerulae sub binis calamis per loca tria, qui simul sex fiunt calami procedentes de hastili uno.
The calyxes and the branches were of a piece with the lamp-stand, and the whole was made from asingle piece of pure gold, beaten out.22 Sphaerulae igitur et calami unum cum ipso erant, totum ductile ex auro purissimo.
He also made its seven lamps, its snuffers and trays of pure gold.23 Fecit et lucernas septem cum emunctoriis suis et vasa, ubi emuncta condantur, de auro mundissimo.

He overlaid its top, its sides al round and its horns with pure gold and made a moulding to go alround.26 Vestivitque illud auro purissimo cum craticula ac parietibus et cornibus.
He made two gold rings for it below the moulding on its two opposite sides, to take the shafts usedfor carrying it.27 Fecitque ei coronam aureolam per gyrum et binos anulos aureos sub corona in duobus lateribus, ut mittantur in eos vectes, et possit altare portari.
He made the shafts of acacia wood and overlaid them with gold.28 Ipsos autem vectes fecit de lignis acaciae et operuit laminis aureis.
He also made the holy anointing oil and the fragrant incense, blending it as a perfumer would.29 Composuit et oleum ad sanctificationis unguentum et thymiama de aromatibus mundissimis opere pigmentarii.
