Exodus 33

NEW JERUSALEM	SMITH VAN DYKE
1 Yahweh then said to Moses, 'Leave, move on from here, you and the people whom you have broughthere from Egypt, to the country that I swore to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob that I would give to their descendants.	1 وقال الرب لموسى اذهب اصعد من هنا انت والشعب الذي اصعدته من ارض مصر الى الارض التي حلفت لابراهيم واسحق ويعقوب قائلا لنسلك اعطيها.
2 I shal send an angel in front of you and drive out the Canaanites, the Amorites, the Hittites, thePerizzites, the Hivites and the Jebusites.	2 وانا ارسل امامك ملاكا واطرد الكنعانيين والاموريين والحثّيين والفرزّيين والحوّيين واليبوسيين.
3 Move on towards a country flowing with milk and honey, but I myself shal not be going with you or Imight annihilate you on the way, for you are an obstinate people.'	3 الى ارض تفيض لبنا وعسلا. فاني لا اصعد في وسطك لانك شعب صلب الرقبة. لئلا افنيك في الطريق.
4 On hearing these stern words the people went into mourning and no one wore his ornaments.	4 فلما سمع الشعب هذا الكلام السوء ناحوا ولم يضع احد زينته عليه.
5 Yahweh then said to Moses, 'Say to the Israelites, "You are an obstinate people. If I were to go withyou even for a moment, I should annihilate you. So now take off your ornaments, and then I shal decide how todeal with you!" '	5 وكان الرب قد قال لموسى قل لبني اسرائيل انتم شعب صلب الرقبة. ان صعدت لحظة واحدة في وسطكم افنيتكم. ولكن الآن اخلع زينتك عنك فاعلم ماذا اصنع بك.
6 So, from Mount Horeb onwards, the Israelites stripped themselves of their ornaments.	6 فنزع بنو اسرائيل زينتهم من جبل حوريب
7 Moses used to take the Tent and pitch it outside the camp, far away from the camp. He called it theTent of Meeting. Anyone who wanted to consult Yahweh would go out to the Tent of Meeting, outside the camp.	7 واخذ موسى الخيمة ونصبها له خارج المحلّة بعيدا عن المحلّة ودعاها خيمة الاجتماع. فكان كل من يطلب الرب يخرج الى خيمة الاجتماع التي خارج المحلة.
8 Whenever Moses went out to the Tent, the people would al stand up and every man would stand atthe door of his tent and watch Moses until he went into the Tent.	8 وكان جميع الشعب اذا خرج موسى الى الخيمة يقومون ويقفون كل واحد في باب خيمته وينظرون وراء موسى حتى يدخل الخيمة.
9 And whenever Moses went into the Tent, the pil ar of cloud would come down and station itself at theentrance to the Tent, while Yahweh spoke with Moses.	9 وكان عمود السحاب اذا دخل موسى الخيمة ينزل ويقف عند باب الخيمة. ويتكلم الرب مع موسى.
10 The people could al see the pil ar of cloud stationed at the entrance to the Tent and the people wouldal stand up and bow low, each at the door of his tent.	10 فيرى جميع الشعب عمود السحاب واقفا عند باب الخيمة. ويقوم كل الشعب ويسجدون كل واحد في باب خيمته ً.
11 Yahweh would talk to Moses face to face, as a man talks to his friend, and afterwards he would comeback to the camp, but the young man who was his servant, Joshua son of Nun, never left the inside of the Tent.	11 ويكلم الرب موسى وجها لوجه كما يكلم الرجل صاحبه. واذا رجع موسى الى المحلّة كان خادمه يشوع بن نون الغلام لا يبرح من داخل الخيمة
12 Moses said to Yahweh, 'Look, you say to me, "Make the people move on," but you have not told mewhom you are going to send with me, although you have said, "I know you by name and you enjoy my favour."	12 وقال موسى للرب انظر. انت قائل لي أصعد هذا الشعب. وانت لم تعرّفني من ترسل معي. وانت قد قلت عرفتك باسمك. ووجدت ايضا نعمة في عينيّ.
13 If indeed I enjoy your favour, please show me your ways, so that I understand you and continue toenjoy your favour; consider too that this nation is your people.'	13 فالآن ان كنت قد وجدت نعمة في عينيك فعلّمني طريقك حتى اعرفك لكي اجد نعمة في عينيك. وانظر ان هذه الامة شعبك.
14 Yahweh then said, 'I myself shall go with you and I shall give you rest.'	14 فقال وجهي يسير فأريحك.
15 To which he said, 'If you do not come yourself, do not make us move on from here,	15 فقال له ان لم يسر وجهك فلا تصعدنا من ههنا.
16 for how can it be known that I and my people enjoy your favour, if not by your coming with us? By thiswe shal be marked out, I and your people, from al the peoples on the face of the earth.'	16 فانه بماذا يعلم اني وجدت نعمة في عينيك انا وشعبك. أليس بمسيرك معنا. فنمتاز انا وشعبك عن جميع الشعوب الذين على وجه الارض.
17 Yahweh then said to Moses, 'Again I shal do what you have asked, because you enjoy my favourand because I know you by name.'	17 فقال الرب لموسى هذا الامر ايضا الذي تكلمت عنه افعله. لانك وجدت نعمة في عيني وعرفتك باسمك
18 He then said, 'Please show me your glory.'	18 فقال أرني مجدك.
19 Yahweh said, 'I shal make al my goodness pass before you, and before you I shal pronounce thename Yahweh; and I am gracious to those to whom I am gracious and I take pity on those on whom I take pity.	19 فقال أجيز كل جودتي قدامك. وانادي باسم الرب قدامك. واتراءف على من اتراءف وارحم من ارحم.
20 But my face', he said, 'you cannot see, for no human being can see me and survive.'	20 وقال لا تقدر ان ترى وجهي. لان الانسان لا يراني ويعيش.
21 Then Yahweh said, 'Here is a place near me. You will stand on the rock,	21 وقال الرب هوذا عندي مكان. فتقف على الصخرة.
22 and when my glory passes by, I shal put you in a cleft of the rock and shield you with my hand until Ihave gone past.	22 ويكون متى اجتاز مجدي اني اضعك في نقرة من الصخرة واسترك بيدي حتى اجتاز.
23 Then I shal take my hand away and you will see my back; but my face wil not be seen.'	23 ثم ارفع يدي فتنظر ورائي. واما وجهي فلا يرى
