Exodus 33

NEW JERUSALEM	KÁLDI-NEOVULGÁTA
1 Yahweh then said to Moses, 'Leave, move on from here, you and the people whom you have broughthere from Egypt, to the country that I swore to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob that I would give to their descendants.	1 Az Úr ezután így szólt Mózeshez: »Eredj, menj fel erről a helyről, te és a néped, amelyet kihoztál Egyiptom földjéről, arra a földre, amely felől megesküdtem Ábrahámnak, Izsáknak és Jákobnak: Az utódaidnak adom.
2 I shal send an angel in front of you and drive out the Canaanites, the Amorites, the Hittites, thePerizzites, the Hivites and the Jebusites.	2 Egy angyalt küldök előtted, és kiűzöm a kánaániakat, az amoritákat, a hetitákat, a perizitákat, a hivvitákat és a jebuzitákat,
3 Move on towards a country flowing with milk and honey, but I myself shal not be going with you or Imight annihilate you on the way, for you are an obstinate people.'	3 s te bemész a tejjel-mézzel folyó földre. Én azonban nem megyek fel veled, mert keménynyakú nép vagy, és még el találnálak pusztítani az úton.«
4 On hearing these stern words the people went into mourning and no one wore his ornaments.	4 Amikor a nép meghallotta ezt a nagyon rossz hírt, gyászba borult, és senki sem vette fel a szokott díszeit.
5 Yahweh then said to Moses, 'Say to the Israelites, "You are an obstinate people. If I were to go withyou even for a moment, I should annihilate you. So now take off your ornaments, and then I shal decide how todeal with you!" '	5 Azt mondta ugyanis az Úr Mózesnek: »Mondd Izrael fiainak: Keménynyakú nép vagy! Ha csak egy kis ideig is veled járnék, eltörölnélek. Most azonban tedd le díszeidet, hogy megtudjam, mit tegyek veled!«
6 So, from Mount Horeb onwards, the Israelites stripped themselves of their ornaments.	6 Le is tették Izrael fiai a díszeiket a Hóreb hegyénél.
7 Moses used to take the Tent and pitch it outside the camp, far away from the camp. He called it theTent of Meeting. Anyone who wanted to consult Yahweh would go out to the Tent of Meeting, outside the camp.	7 Mózes pedig fogta a sátrat, és messze a táboron kívül verte azt fel, s elnevezte szövetség sátrának. Így a népből mindenkinek, akinek valami kérdezni valója volt, ki kellett mennie a szövetség sátrához, a táboron kívülre.
8 Whenever Moses went out to the Tent, the people would al stand up and every man would stand atthe door of his tent and watch Moses until he went into the Tent.	8 Valahányszor Mózes kiment a sátorhoz, fölkelt az egész nép, mindenki kiállt sátra ajtajába, és nézett Mózes után, amíg ő be nem ment a sátorba.
9 And whenever Moses went into the Tent, the pil ar of cloud would come down and station itself at theentrance to the Tent, while Yahweh spoke with Moses.	9 Amikor aztán belépett a szövetség sátrába, leszállt a felhőoszlop, megállt az ajtónál, és az Úr beszélt Mózessel.
10 The people could al see the pil ar of cloud stationed at the entrance to the Tent and the people wouldal stand up and bow low, each at the door of his tent.	10 Amikor az izraeliták látták, hogy a felhőoszlop ott áll a sátor ajtajánál, mindannyian felálltak, és leborultak sátruk ajtajában.
11 Yahweh would talk to Moses face to face, as a man talks to his friend, and afterwards he would comeback to the camp, but the young man who was his servant, Joshua son of Nun, never left the inside of the Tent.	11 Az Úr pedig beszélt Mózessel, szemtől szembe, úgy, ahogy az ember a barátjával szokott beszélni. Aztán Mózes visszatért a táborba, de szolgája, az ifjú Józsue, Nún fia nem távozott a sátortól.
12 Moses said to Yahweh, 'Look, you say to me, "Make the people move on," but you have not told mewhom you are going to send with me, although you have said, "I know you by name and you enjoy my favour."	12 Mózes ekkor azt mondta az Úrnak: »Azt parancsolod, hogy vezessem fel ezt a népet, de nem adod tudtomra, kit küldesz majd velem! Pedig azt mondtad: ‘Név szerint ismerlek, és kegyelmet találtál előttem.’
13 If indeed I enjoy your favour, please show me your ways, so that I understand you and continue toenjoy your favour; consider too that this nation is your people.'	13 Ha tehát kegyelmet találtam színed előtt, mutasd meg nekem arcodat, hogy ismerjelek, és valóban kegyelmet találjak szemed előtt. Vedd figyelembe, hogy a te néped ez a nemzet.«
14 Yahweh then said, 'I myself shall go with you and I shall give you rest.'	14 Azt mondta erre az Úr: »Magam fogok előtted haladni, és nyugalmat szerzek neked!«
15 To which he said, 'If you do not come yourself, do not make us move on from here,	15 Mózes azt válaszolta: »Ha nem te magad mégy előttünk, ne is vezess ki minket erről a helyről!
16 for how can it be known that I and my people enjoy your favour, if not by your coming with us? By thiswe shal be marked out, I and your people, from al the peoples on the face of the earth.'	16 Miből is tudhatnánk meg, én és a te néped, hogy kegyelmet találtunk színed előtt, hacsak velünk nem jársz, hogy így dicsőbbek legyünk minden népnél, amely a földön lakik?«
17 Yahweh then said to Moses, 'Again I shal do what you have asked, because you enjoy my favourand because I know you by name.'	17 Az Úr erre azt mondta Mózesnek: »Ezt is, amit mondtál, megteszem, mert kegyelmet találtál előttem, és név szerint ismerlek téged.«
18 He then said, 'Please show me your glory.'	18 Mózes azt felelte: »Mutasd meg nekem dicsőségedet!«
19 Yahweh said, 'I shal make al my goodness pass before you, and before you I shal pronounce thename Yahweh; and I am gracious to those to whom I am gracious and I take pity on those on whom I take pity.	19 Az Úr erre így szólt: »Neked megmutatom egész jóságomat, és kimondom előtted az Úr nevét, mert könyörülök azon, akin akarok, és kegyelmes vagyok az iránt, aki iránt nekem tetszik.«
20 But my face', he said, 'you cannot see, for no human being can see me and survive.'	20 Majd azt mondta: »Ám arcomat nem láthatod, mert nem láthat engem ember úgy, hogy életben maradjon.«
21 Then Yahweh said, 'Here is a place near me. You will stand on the rock,	21 Azután így szólt: »De, íme, van itt egy hely mellettem: állj erre a kősziklára!
22 and when my glory passes by, I shal put you in a cleft of the rock and shield you with my hand until Ihave gone past.	22 Ha majd elvonul előtted dicsőségem, beállítlak a kőszikla hasadékába, és befödlek jobbommal, amíg el nem vonulok.
23 Then I shal take my hand away and you will see my back; but my face wil not be seen.'	23 Aztán elveszem kezemet, és utánam tekinthetsz – de arcomat nem láthatod!«
