Nehemiah 3

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBLIA
1 Eliashib the high priest with his brother priests then set to work and rebuilt the Sheep Gate; they madethe framework, hung its doors, fixed its bolts and bars and proceeded as far as the Tower of the Hundred andthe Tower of Hananel.	1 El sumo sacerdote Elyasib y sus hermanos los sacerdotes se encargaron de construir la puerta de las Ovejas: la armaron, fijaron sus hojas, barras y goznes, y continuaron hasta la torre de los Cien y hasta la torre de Jananel.
2 The men of Jericho built next to him; Zaccur son of Imri built next to them.	2 Al lado de ellos construyeron los de Jericó; a su lado constuyó Zakkur, hijo de Imrí.
3 The sons of Ha-Senaah rebuilt the Fish Gate; they made the framework, hung its doors and fixed itsbolts and bars.	3 Los hijos de Hassenáa construyeron la puerta de los Peces: la armaron y fijaron sus hojas, barras y goznes.
4 Meremoth son of Uriah, son of Hakkoz, carried out repairs next to them; Meshul am son of Berechiah,son of Meshezabel, carried out repairs next to him; and Zadok son of Baana carried out repairs next to him.	4 A su lado reparó Meremot, hijo de Urías, hijo de Haqcós; a continuación reparó Mesullam, hijo de Berekías, hijo de Mesezabel; a su lado reparó Sadoq, hijo de Baaná.
5 The men of Tekoa carried out repairs next to him, though their nobles would not demean themselves tohelp their masters.	5 Junto a él repararon los de Técoa, pero sus notables se negaron a poner su cuello al servicio de sus señores.
6 Joiada son of Paseah and Meshul am son of Besodeiah repaired the gate of the New Quarter; theymade the framework, hung its doors and fixed its bolts and bars.	6 La puerta del Barrio nuevo la repararon Yoyadá, hijo de Paséaj, y Mesullam, hijo de Besodías: la armaron y fijaron sus hojas, barras y goznes.
7 Next to them repairs were carried out by Melatiah of Gibeon, Jadon of Meronoth, and the men ofGibeon and Mizpah, for the sake of the governor of Transeuphrates.	7 A continuación de éstos repararon Melatías de Gabaón y Yadón de Meronot, así como los de Gabaón y de Mispá, a expensas del gobernador de Transeufratina.
8 Next to them repairs were carried out by Uzziel son of Harhaiah, a member of the metal-workers' guild,and next to him repairs were carried out by Hananiah of the perfumers' guild. These renovated the wall ofJerusalem as far as the Broad Wal .	8 A su lado reparó Uzziel, miembro del gremio de los orfebres, y a continuación reparó Jananías, del gremio de los perfumistas: ellos reconstruyeron Jerusalén hasta el muro de la Plaza.
9 Next to them repairs were carried out by Rephaiah son of Hur, who was head of one half of the districtof Jerusalem.	9 A continuación reparó Refaías, hijo de Jur, jefe de la mitad del distrito de Jerusalén.
10 Next to them Jedaiah son of Harumaph carried out repairs opposite his own house; next to him repairswere carried out by Hattush son of Hashabneiah.	10 A continuación reparó Yedaías, hijo de Harumaf, delante de su casa; a continuación reparó Jattús, hijo de Hasabneías.
11 Malchijah son of Harim and Hasshub son of Pahath-Moab repaired another section as far as theFurnace Tower.	11 Malkiyías, hijo de Jarim, y Jassub, hijo de Pajat Moab, repararon la parte siguiente, hasta la torre de los Hornos.
12 Next to them repairs were carried out by Shal um son of Hal ohesh, head of the other half of thedistrict of Jerusalem, by him and his sons.	12 A continuación de éstos reparó, con sus hijos, Sallum, hijo de Hallojés, jefe de la mitad del distrito de Jerusalén.
13 Hanun and the inhabitants of Zanoah repaired the Val ey Gate: they rebuilt it, hung its doors and fixedits bolts and bars; they also repaired a thousand cubits of wal up to the Dung Gate.	13 Repararon la puerta del Valle, Hanún y los habitantes de Zanóaj: la construyeron, fijaron sus hojas, barras y goznes, e hicieron mil codos de muro, hasta la puerta del Muladar.
14 Malchijah son of Rechab, head of the district of Beth-ha-Cherem, repaired the Dung Gate; he rebuilt it,hung its doors and fixed its bolts and bars.	14 La puerta del Muladar la reparó Malkiyías, hijo de Rekab, jefe del distrito de Bet Hakkérem, con sus hijos: fijó sus hojas, barras y goznes.
15 Shallum son of Col-Hozeh, head of the district of Mizpah, repaired the Fountain Gate; he rebuilt it,roofed it, hung its doors and fixed its bolts and bars. He also rebuilt the wal of the Pool of Siloah, adjoining theking's garden, as far as the steps going down from the City of David.	15 La puerta de la Fuente la reparó Sallum, hijo de Kol Jozé, jefe del distrito de Mispá: la construyó, la cubrió y fijó sus hojas, barras y goznes. También restauró el muro de la alberca del canal, que está junto al huerto del rey, hasta las escaleras que bajan de la Ciudad de David.
16 After him, Nehemiah son of Azbuk, head of half the district of Beth-Zur, carried out repairs from a pointopposite the Davidic Tombs to the artificial pool and the House of the Champions.	16 Después de él Nehemías, hijo de Aztuq, jefe de la mitad del distrito de Bet Sur, reparó hasta enfrente de las tumbas de David, hasta la alberca artificial y hasta la Casa de los Valientes.
17 After him, repairs were carried out by the Levites: Rehum son of Bani; and next to him Hashabiah,head of one half of the district of Keilah, carried out repairs for his own district.	17 A continuación repararon los levitas: Rejum, hijo de Baní; a su lado reparó Jasabías, jefe de la mitad del distrito de Queilá, en su distrito;
18 After him, repairs were carried out by their brothers: Binnui son of Henadad, head of the other half ofthe district of Keilah.	18 a continuación repararon sus hermanos: Binnuy, hijo de Jenadad, jefe de la mitad del distrito de Queilá;
19 Next to him, Ezer son of Jeshua, headman of Mizpah, repaired another section in front of the ascentto the armoury at the Angle.	19 a continuación Ezer, hijo de Josué, jefe de Mispá, reparó otra sección frente a la subida del Arsenal del Angulo.
20 After him, Baruch son of Zabbai repaired another section from the Angle to the door of the house ofEliashib the high priest.	20 Después de él Baruc, hijo de Zabbay, reparó otro sector, desde el Angulo hasta la puerta de la casa del sumo sacerdote Elyasib.
21 After him, Meremoth son of Uriah, son of Hakkoz, repaired another section from the door of Eliashib'shouse as far as the end of Eliashib's house.	21 Después de él Meremot, hijo de Urías, hijo de Haqcós, reparó otro sector, desde la puerta de la casa de Elyasib hasta el término de la misma.
22 And after him repairs were carried out by the priests who lived in the district.	22 Después de él prosiguieron la reparación los sacerdotes que habitaban en la Vega.
23 After them repairs were carried out by Benjamin and Hasshub, opposite their own house. After themrepairs were carried out by Azariah son of Maaseiah, son of Ananiah, beside his own house.	23 Repararon a continuación Benjamín y Jassub frente a sus casas. Después de ellos Azarías, hijo de Maaseías, hijo de Ananías, reparó junto a su casa.
24 After him, Binnui son of Henadad repaired another section from Azariah's house as far as the Angle atthe corner.	24 Después de él Binnuy, hijo de Jenadad, reparó otra sección, desde la casa de Azarías hasta el Angulo y la esquina.
25 After him, Palal son of Uzai carried out repairs in front of the Angle and the tower projecting from theking's Upper Palace by the Court of the Guard; and after him, Pedaiah son of Parosh carried out the repairs	25 A continuación Palal, hijo de Uzay, reparó enfrente del Angulo y de la torre en saliente de la casa del rey, la de arriba que da al patio de la cárcel. Después de él Pedaías, hijo de Parós, reparó
26 to a point by the Water Gate to the east and the projecting tower.	26 hasta la puerta de las Aguas hacia Oriente y hasta delante de la torre en saliente.
27 After him, the men of Tekoa repaired another section from in front of the great projecting tower as faras the wal of Ophel.	27 A continuación los de Técoa repararon otro sector frente a la torre grande en saliente hasta el muro del Ofel.
28 From the Horse Gate onwards repairs were carried out by the priests, each in front of his own house.	28 Desde la puerta de los Caballos repararon los sacerdotes, cada uno frente a su casa.
29 After them repairs were carried out by Zadok son of Immer in front of his house, and after him repairswere carried out by Shemaiah son of Shechaniah, keeper of the East Gate.	29 Después de ellos reparó Sadoq, hijo de Immer, frente a su casa. Después de él reparó Semaías, hijo de Sekanías, encargado de la puerta Oriental.
30 After him Hananiah son of Shelemiah and Hanun sixth son of Zalaph repaired another section, afterwhom repairs were carried out by Meshul am son of Berechiah in front of his room.	30 Después de él, Jananías, hijo de Selemías, y Janún, sexto hijo de Salaf, repararon otro sector. A continuación reparó Mesullam, hijo de Berekías, frente a su vivienda.
31 After him Malchijah, of the metal-workers' guild, repaired as far as the Hal of the temple slaves andmerchants, in front of the Muster Gate, as far as the upper room at the corner.	31 Después de él Malkiyías, del gremio de los orfebres, reparó hasta la casa de los donados y de los comerciantes, frente a la puerta de la Inspección, hasta la cámara alta del ángulo.
32 And between the upper room at the corner and the Sheep Gate repairs were carried out by thegoldsmiths and the merchants.	32 Y entre la cámara alta del ángulo y la puerta de las Ovejas, repararon los orfebres y los comerciantes.
33 When Sanballat heard that we were rebuilding the wal , he became furiously angry.	33 Cuando Samballat se enteró de que estábamos reconstruyendo la muralla, montó en cólera y se irritó mucho. Se burlaba de los judíos,
34 He ridiculed the Jews and in front of his kinsmen and the aristocracy of Samaria he exclaimed, 'Whatare these pathetic Jews doing . . . ? Are they going to give up? Or offer sacrifices? Or complete the work in aday? Can they put new life into stones taken from rubbish heaps and even charred?'	34 y decía delante de sus hermanos y de la gente principal de Samaría: «¿Qué pretenden hacer esos miserables judíos? ¿Es que quieren terminar en un día? ¿Van a dar vida a esas piedras, sacadas de montones de escombros y calcinadas?»
35 And beside him Tobiah of Ammon remarked, 'If a jackal were to jump on what they are building, itwould knock their stone wal down!'	35 Tobías el ammonita, que estaba junto a él, dijo: «¡Déjales que construyan; que si un chacal se alza, abrirá brecha en su muralla de piedra!»
36 Listen, our God, for we are despised! Make their sneers fal back on their own heads! Send them asbooty to a land of captivity!	36 ¡Escucha, Dios nuestro, porque nos desprecian. Haz que caiga su insulto sobre su cabeza. Entrégalos al desprecio en un país de cautividad!
37 Do not pardon their wickedness, may their sin never be erased before you, for they have insulted thebuilders to their face!	37 No pases por alto su iniquidad, ni su pecado sea borrado en tu presencia, porque han insultado a los constructores.
38 Meanwhile we were rebuilding the wal , which was soon joined up al the way round to mid-height; thepeople put their hearts into the work.	38 Construimos, pues, la muralla, que quedó terminada hasta media altura. El pueblo había puesto su corazón en el trabajo.
