NEW JERUSALEM	KÁLDI-NEOVULGÁTA
1 The people of the land then took Jehoahaz son of Josiah and proclaimed him king of Jerusalem insuccession to his father.	1 Ekkor a föld népe Joacházt, Jozija fiát tette királlyá atyja helyébe Jeruzsálemben.
2 Jehoahaz was twenty-three years old when he came to the throne, and he reigned for three months inJerusalem.	2 Huszonhárom esztendős volt Joacház, amikor uralkodni kezdett, s három hónapig uralkodott Jeruzsálemben.
3 The king of Egypt deposed him in Jerusalem and imposed a levy of a hundred talents of silver andone talent of gold on the country.	3 Ám Egyiptom királya, amikor Jeruzsálembe ért, letette őt, s az országot száz talentum ezüstre és egy talentum aranyra ítélte.
4 The king of Egypt then made his brother Eliakim king of Judah and Jerusalem, and changed his nameto Jehoiakim. Carrying off his brother Jehoahaz, Necho took him to Egypt.	4 Helyette fivérét, Eljakimot tette meg Júda és Jeruzsálem királyává, de nevét Joakimra változtatta, Joacházt pedig magával hurcolta és elvitte Egyiptomba.
5 Jehoiakim was twenty-five years old when he came to the throne, and he reigned for eleven years inJerusalem. He did what is displeasing to Yahweh his God.	5 Huszonöt esztendős volt Joakim, amikor uralkodni kezdett s tizenegy esztendeig uralkodott Jeruzsálemben. Azt cselekedte, ami gonosz volt az Úr, az ő Istene előtt.
6 Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon attacked him, loaded him with chains and took him to Babylon.	6 Felvonult ellene Nebukadnezár, a kaldeusok királya, megláncolta és elvitte Babilonba.
7 To Babylon Nebuchadnezzar also took some of the objects belonging to the Temple of Yahweh andput them in his palace in Babylon.	7 Odavitte az Úr házának edényeit is, s a maga templomába helyezte azokat.
8 The rest of the history of Jehoiakim, the shameful things that he did and what happened to him inconsequence, these are recorded in the Book of the Kings of Israel and Judah. His son Jehoiachin succeededhim.	8 Joakim egyéb dolgait, valamint undokságait, amelyeket elkövetett s amelyek terhelték, megírták Júda és Izrael királyainak könyvében. Fia, Joachin lett a király helyette.
9 Jehoiachin was eighteen years old when he came to the throne, and he reigned for three months andten days in Jerusalem. He did what is displeasing to Yahweh.	9 yolcesztendős volt Joachin, amikor uralkodni kezdett, s három hónapig és tíz napig uralkodott Jeruzsálemben. Azt cselekedte, ami gonosz az Úr színe előtt.
10 At the turn of the year, King Nebuchadnezzar sent for him and had him taken to Babylon, with thevaluables belonging to the Temple of Yahweh, and made his brother Zedekiah king of Judah and Jerusalem.	10 Az esztendő fordultával odaküldött Nebukadnezár király s elvitette Babilonba. Ugyanakkor elvitette az Úr házának drága edényeit is, Júda és Jeruzsálem királyává pedig a testvérét, Cidkiját rendelte.
11 Zedekiah was twenty-one years old when he came to the throne, and he reigned for eleven years inJerusalem.	11 Huszonegy esztendős volt Cidkija, amikor uralkodni kezdett, s tizenegy esztendeig uralkodott Jeruzsálemben.
12 He did what is displeasing to Yahweh his God. He did not listen humbly to the prophet Jeremiah whospoke for Yahweh.	12 Azt cselekedte, ami gonosz az Úr, az ő Istene szeme előtt, s nem alázkodott meg Jeremiás próféta személye előtt sem, aki által az Úr ajka szólt hozzá.
13 Furthermore, he rebel ed against King Nebuchadnezzar who had made him swear al egiance to himby God. He became stubborn, and obstinately refused to return to Yahweh, God of Israel.	13 Nebukadnezár királytól is elpártolt, pedig ő Istenre eskette meg. Megkeményítette nyakát és szívét, s nem tért vissza az Úrhoz, Izrael Istenéhez.
14 Furthermore, al the leaders of Judah, the priests and the people too, added infidelity to infidelity,copying al the shameful practices of the nations and defiling the Temple of Yahweh which he himself hadconsecrated in Jerusalem.	14 Sőt még a papok valamennyi elöljárója meg a nép is hűtlenül a nemzetek valamennyi undokságát követte, s megszentségtelenítette az Úr házát, amelyet az Úr magának szentelt Jeruzsálemben.
15 Yahweh, God of their ancestors, continuously sent them word through his messengers because hefelt sorry for his people and his dwel ing,	15 Az Úr, atyáik Istene elküldte ugyan hozzájuk követeit, s a reggeli felkeléstől állandóan figyelmeztette őket, mert kímélni akarta népét s a maga lakóhelyét.
16 but they ridiculed the messengers of God, they despised his words, they laughed at his prophets,until Yahweh's wrath with his people became so fierce that there was no further remedy.	16 De ők kigúnyolták Isten követeit, fel sem vették szavait, s kinevették prófétáit. Úgyhogy az Úr haragja végül is felgerjedt népe ellen és nem volt többé számukra mentség.
17 So against them he summoned the king of the Chaldaeans and he put their young men to the swordwithin the very building of their Temple, not sparing young man or girl, or the old and infirm; he put them al at hismercy.	17 Rájuk hozta ugyanis a kaldeusok királyát és kardélre hányatta az ifjaikat szentélyük házában. Nem könyörült meg ifjún, hajadonon, vénen avagy aggastyánon, hanem mindenkit a kezébe adott.
18 Al the things belonging to the Temple of God, whether large or smal , the treasures of the Temple ofYahweh, the treasures of the king and his officials, everything he took to Babylon.	18 Az Úr házának valamennyi edényét, a nagyokat és kicsiket egyaránt, valamint a templom, a király s a főemberek kincseit elvitette Babilonba.
19 He burned down the temple of God, demolished the wal s of Jerusalem, burned al its palaces to theground and destroyed everything of value in it.	19 Az ellenség felgyújtotta az Isten házát, lerombolta Jeruzsálem falát, minden tornyát felégette és elpusztította minden drágaságát.
20 And those who had escaped the sword he deported to Babylon, where they were enslaved by himand his descendants until the rise of the kingdom of Persia,	20 Aki megmenekült a kardtól, azt Babilonba hurcolták. Ott szolgája lett a királynak és fiainak, amíg uralomra nem jutott a perzsák királya,
21 to fulfil Yahweh's prophecy through Jeremiah: Until the country has paid off its Sabbaths, it wil liefal ow for al the days of its desolation -- until the seventy years are complete.	21 hogy beteljesedjék, amit az Úr mondott Jeremiás ajka által: ha a föld nem ünnepli meg szombatjait, elhagyatottságának egész ideje alatt szombatot tart, amíg el le nem telik a hetven esztendő.
22 In the first year of Cyrus king of Persia -- to fulfil the word of Yahweh through Jeremiah -- Yahwehroused the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia to issue a proclamation and to have it publicly displayed throughout hiskingdom:	22 Círusznak, a perzsák királyának első esztendejében azonban felébresztette az Úr Círusznak, a perzsák királyának lelkét, hogy beteljesedjék az Úr szava, amelyet Jeremiás szája által mondott. Erre ő kihirdette egész birodalmában írásban és szóban: »
23 'Cyrus king of Persia says this, "Yahweh, the God of Heaven, has given me al the kingdoms of theearth and has appointed me to build him a Temple in Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Whoever there is among youof al his people, may his God be with him! Let him go up." '	23 Ezt üzeni Círusz, a perzsák királya. A föld valamennyi országát nekem adta az Úr, az ég Istene, s ő megparancsolta nekem, hogy házat építsek neki a júdai Jeruzsálemben. Ki való közületek az ő népéből? Legyen vele az Úr, az ő Istene és menjen fel.«
