NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 The people of the land then took Jehoahaz son of Josiah and proclaimed him king of Jerusalem insuccession to his father.	1 Pueblo del país tomó entonces a Joacaz, hijo de Josías, y lo proclamó rey en Jerusalén en lugar de su padre.
2 Jehoahaz was twenty-three years old when he came to the throne, and he reigned for three months inJerusalem.	2 Joacaz tenía veintitrés años cuando comenzó a reinar, y reinó tres meses en Jerusalén.
3 The king of Egypt deposed him in Jerusalem and imposed a levy of a hundred talents of silver andone talent of gold on the country.	3 El rey de Egipto lo destituyó para que no reinara en Jerusalén, e impuso al país un tributo de cien talentos de plata y un talento de oro.

5 Jehoiakim was twenty-five years old when he came to the throne, and he reigned for eleven years inJerusalem. He did what is displeasing to Yahweh his God.	5 Joaquím tenía veinticinco años cuando comenzó a reinar, y reinó once años en Jerusalén. Hizo lo que es malo a los ojos del Señor, su Dios.
6 Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon attacked him, loaded him with chains and took him to Babylon.	6 Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, subió a atacarlo y lo sujetó con doble cadena de bronce, para conducirlo a Babilonia.
7 To Babylon Nebuchadnezzar also took some of the objects belonging to the Temple of Yahweh andput them in his palace in Babylon.	7 Nabucodonosor llevó también a Babilonia parte de los objetos de Casa del Señor y los puso en su palacio de Babilonia.
8 The rest of the history of Jehoiakim, the shameful things that he did and what happened to him inconsequence, these are recorded in the Book of the Kings of Israel and Judah. 9 Jehoiachin was eighteen years old when he came to the throne, and he reigned for three months andten days in Jerusalem. 10 At the turn of the year, King Nebuchadnezzar sent for him and had him taken to Babylon, with thevaluables belonging to the Temple of Yahweh, and made his brother Zedekiah king of Judah and Jerusalem.	10 Al comienzo del año, el rey Nabucodonosor mandó que lo llevaran prisionero a Babilonia, junto con los objetos preciosos de la Casa del Señor, y proclamó rey de Judá y de Jerusalén a su pariente Sedecías.
11 Zedekiah was twenty-one years old when he came to the throne, and he reigned for eleven years inJerusalem.	11 Sedecías tenía veintiún años cuando comenzó a reinar, y reinó once años en Jerusalén.
12 He did what is displeasing to Yahweh his God. He did not listen humbly to the prophet Jeremiah whospoke for Yahweh.	12 Hizo lo que es malo a los ojos del Señor, su Dios, y no quiso humillarse delante del profeta Jeremías, que hablaba de parte del Señor.
13 Furthermore, he rebel ed against King Nebuchadnezzar who had made him swear al egiance to himby God. He became stubborn, and obstinately refused to return to Yahweh, God of Israel.	13 Incluso, se rebeló contra el rey Nabucodonosor, que le había hecho jurar fidelidad delante de Dios. 16 but they ridiculed the messengers of God, they despised his words, they laughed at his prophets,until Yahweh's wrath with his people became so fierce that there was no further remedy.	16 Pero ellos escarnecían a los mensajeros de Dios, despreciaban sus palabras y ponían en ridículo a sus profetas, hasta que la ira del Señor contra su pueblo subió a tal punto, que ya no hubo más remedio.
17 So against them he summoned the king of the Chaldaeans and he put their young men to the swordwithin the very building of their Temple, not sparing young man or girl, or the old and infirm; he put them al at hismercy.	17 Entonces Dios hizo subir contra ellos al rey de los caldeos, y este hizo morir por la espada a sus jóvenes en el interior de su Santuario, sin perdonar a nadie, ni joven ni virgen, ni anciano ni hombre encanecido: los entregó a todos en sus manos.
18 Al the things belonging to the Temple of God, whether large or smal , the treasures of the Temple ofYahweh, the treasures of the king and his officials, everything he took to Babylon.	18 Todos los objetos de la Casa de Dios, grandes y pequeños, los tesoros de la Casa del Señor, y los tesoros del rey y de sus jefes, todo se lo llevó a Babilonia.
19 He burned down the temple of God, demolished the wal s of Jerusalem, burned al its palaces to theground and destroyed everything of value in it.	19 Ellos quemaron la Casa de Dios, demolieron las murallas de Jerusalén, prendieron fuego a todos sus palacios y destruyeron todos sus objetos preciosos.
20 And those who had escaped the sword he deported to Babylon, where they were enslaved by himand his descendants until the rise of the kingdom of Persia,	20 Nabucodonosor deportó a Babilonia a los que habían escapado de la espada y estos se convirtieron en esclavos del rey y de sus hijos hasta el advenimiento del reino persa.
21 to fulfil Yahweh's prophecy through Jeremiah: Until the country has paid off its Sabbaths, it wil liefal ow for al the days of its desolation -- until the seventy years are complete.	21 Así se cumplió la palabra del Señor, pronunciada por Jeremías: «La tierra descansó durante todo el tiempo de la desolación, hasta pagar la deuda de todos sus sábados, hasta que se cumplieron setenta años».
22 In the first year of Cyrus king of Persia -- to fulfil the word of Yahweh through Jeremiah -- Yahwehroused the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia to issue a proclamation and to have it publicly displayed throughout hiskingdom:	22 En el primer año del reinado de Ciro, rey de Persia, para se cumpliera la palabra del Señor pronunciada por Jeremías, el Señor despertó el espíritu de Ciro, el rey de Persia, y este mandó proclamar de vida voz y por escrito en todo su reino:
23 'Cyrus king of Persia says this, "Yahweh, the God of Heaven, has given me al the kingdoms of theearth and has appointed me to build him a Temple in Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Whoever there is among youof al his people, may his God be with him! Let him go up." '	23 «Así habla Ciro, rey de Persia: El Señor, el Dios del cielo, me ha dado todos los reinos de la tierra y él me ha encargado que le edifique una Casa en Jerusalén, de Judá. Si alguno de ustedes pertenece a ese pueblo, ¡que el Señor, su Dios, lo acompañe y que suba...!».
