NEW JERUSALEM	Biblia Matos Soares
1 Solomon son of David then made himself secure over his kingdom. Yahweh his God was with him,making him more and more powerful.	1 Salomão, filho de Davide, foi confirmado no seu reino; o Senhor, seu Deus, era com ele, e o exaltou em alto grau.
2 Solomon then spoke to al Israel, to the commanders of thousands and of hundreds, to the judges andto every leader in all Israel, the heads of families.	2 Salomão convocou todo o Israel, os chefes de milhar, os centuriões, os juízes, os príncipes de todo o Israel, os chefes das famílias,
3 Solomon, and the whole assembly with him, then went to the high place at Gibeon, where God's Tentof Meeting was, which Moses, servant of God, had made in the desert.	3 e foi com toda esta multidão ao alto de Gabaon, onde estava o tabernáculo da aliança de Deus, que Moisés, servo de Deus, tinha feito no deserto.
4 The ark of the covenant, however, David had brought from Kiriath-Jearim to the place which he hadprepared for it, having pitched a tent for it in Jerusalem.	4 Quanto à arca de Deus, Davide tinha-a trazido de Cariatiarim para o lugar que lhe tinha preparado, e onde lhe tinha erigido um tabernáculo, isto é, para Jerusalém.
5 The bronze altar which Bezalel son of Uri, son of Hur, had made was there, in front of Yahweh'sDwelling, where Solomon and the assembly consulted him.	5 O altar de bronze, que tinha feito Beseleel, filho de Uri, filho de Hur, estava lá (em, Gabaon) diante do tabernáculo do Senhor, e Salomão, com toda a multidão, foi em busca dele.
6 There Solomon presented a burnt offering before Yahweh on the bronze altar of the Tent of Meeting,making on it one thousand burnt offerings.	6 Ali, sobre o altar de bronze, que estava diante do tabernáculo da aliança do Senhor, Salomão imolou mil vítimas.
7 That night God appeared to Solomon and said, 'Ask what you would like me to give you.'	7 Naquela mesma noite apareceu-lhe Deus, dizendo: Pede-me o que queres que eu te dê.
8 Solomon replied to God, 'You showed most faithful love to David my father, and you have made meking in succession to him.	8 Salomão disse a Deus: Tu usaste com Davide, meu pai, de grande misericórdia, e a mim me constituíste rei em seu lugar,
9 Yahweh God, the promise you made to David my father has now been fulfil ed, since you have mademe king over a people as numerous as the dust of the earth.	9 Agora, pois, Senhor Deus, cumpra-se a tu a palavra, que disseste a meu pai Davide, pois que tu me estabeleceste rei sobre o teu grande povo, que é tão inumerável como o pó da terra.
10 Therefore give me wisdom and knowledge to act as leader of this people, for how otherwise couldsuch a great people as yours be governed?'	10 Dá-me sabedoria e inteligência, a fim de que eu saiba conduzir-me bem diante do teu povo. Pois, quem poderá governar dignamente este teu povo, que é tão grande?
11 'Since that is what you want,' God said to Solomon, 'since you have asked, not for riches, treasure,honour, the lives of your enemies, or even for a long life, but for wisdom and knowledge to govern my people ofwhom I have made you king,	11 Deus disse a Salomão: Visto que isso agradou mais ao teu coração, e não me pediste riquezas, nem bens, nem glória, nem a morte dos que te odeiam, nem muitos dias de vida, antes me pediste sabedoria e inteligência para poderes governar o meu povo, sobre o qual eu te constituí rei,
12 therefore wisdom and knowledge are granted you. I give you riches too, and treasure, and honoursuch as no king had before you and none will have after you.'	12 a sabedoria e a inteligência te são dadas; além disso, te darei riquezas, bens e glória, de modo que nenhum rei, nem antes de ti, nem depois de ti, te seja semelhante.
13 So Solomon came away from the high place at Gibeon, from the Tent of Meeting, to Jerusalem andreigned over Israel.	13 Salomão, pois, voltou do alto de Gabaon de diante do tabernáculo da aliança para Jerusalém, e reinou sobre Israel.
14 Solomon then built up a force of chariots and cavalry; he had one thousand four hundred chariots andtwelve thousand horses; these he kept in the chariot towns and near the king at Jerusalem.	14 Juntou um grande número de carros e de cavaleiros teve: mil e quatrocentos carros e doze mil cavaleiros, e mandou-os estar nas cidades destinadas aos carros e em Jerusalém junto ao rei.
15 In Jerusalem the king made silver and gold as common as stones, and cedar wood as plentiful assycamore in the lowlands.	15 O rei fez com que a prata e o ouro fossem em Jerusalém tão comuns como as pedras, e os cedros tão numerosos com o os sicómoros, que nascem nos campos.
16 Solomon's horses were imported from Muzur and Cilicia. The king's dealers acquired them in Cilicia atthe prevailing price.	16 Eram-lhe trazidos cavalos do Egito e de Coa pelos negociantes do rei, que iam e os compravam por preço determinado:
17 A chariot was imported from Egypt for six hundred silver shekels and a horse from Cilicia for ahundred and fifty. They also supplied the Hittite and Aramaean kings, who al used them as middlemen.	17 um tiro de quatro cavalos por seiscentos siclos de prata; e um cavalo por cento e cinquenta. Assim se fazia a compra também para todos os reis dos Heteus e da Síria.
18 Solomon then gave the order to build a house for the name of Yahweh and a palace in which to reign.
