2 Chronicles 1

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 Solomon son of David then made himself secure over his kingdom. Yahweh his God was with him,making him more and more powerful.	1 Salomón, hijo de David, se afianzó en su trono, y el Señor, su Dios, estaba con él y lo engrandeció sobremanera.
2 Solomon then spoke to al Israel, to the commanders of thousands and of hundreds, to the judges andto every leader in all Israel, the heads of families.	2 Salomón habló a todo Israel, a los jefes de mil y de cien hombres, a los jueces y a todos los príncipes de todo Israel, o sea, a los jefes de familia.
3 Solomon, and the whole assembly with him, then went to the high place at Gibeon, where God's Tentof Meeting was, which Moses, servant of God, had made in the desert.	3 Después Salomón fue con toda la asamblea al lugar alto de Gabaón, donde estaba la Carpa del Encuentro de Dios, que Moisés, el servidor del Señor, había construido en el desierto.
4 The ark of the covenant, however, David had brought from Kiriath-Jearim to the place which he hadprepared for it, having pitched a tent for it in Jerusalem.	4 El Arca de Dios, en cambio, había sido llevada por David de Quiriat Iearim al lugar que él mismo le había preparado en Jerusalén, levantando allí una tienda de campaña para ella.
5 The bronze altar which Bezalel son of Uri, son of Hur, had made was there, in front of Yahweh'sDwelling, where Solomon and the assembly consulted him.	5 Pero el altar de bronce que había hecho Besalel, hijo de Urí, hijo de Jur, estaba en Gabaón delante de la Morada del Señor, y Salomón fue junto con la asamblea a consultarlo allí al Señor.
6 There Solomon presented a burnt offering before Yahweh on the bronze altar of the Tent of Meeting,making on it one thousand burnt offerings.	6 Salomón subió al altar de bronce que estaba junto a la Carpa del Encuentro, y ofreció sobre él mil holocaustos, en la presencia del Señor.
7 That night God appeared to Solomon and said, 'Ask what you would like me to give you.'	7 Aquella misma noche, Dios se apareció a Salomón y le dijo: «Pídeme lo que quieras».
8 Solomon replied to God, 'You showed most faithful love to David my father, and you have made meking in succession to him.	8 Salomón respondió a Dios: «Tú has tratado a mi padre David con gran fidelidad y me has hecho reinar en lugar de él.
9 Yahweh God, the promise you made to David my father has now been fulfil ed, since you have mademe king over a people as numerous as the dust of the earth.	9 Ahora, Señor Dios, que se cumpla la promesa que le hiciste a mi padre David, ya que tú me has constituido rey sobre un pueblo numeroso como el polvo de la tierra.
10 Therefore give me wisdom and knowledge to act as leader of this people, for how otherwise couldsuch a great people as yours be governed?'	10 Por eso, dame sabiduría e inteligencia, para que yo pueda guiar a este pueblo, porque ¿quién podría juzgar a un pueblo tan grande como el tuyo?».
11 'Since that is what you want,' God said to Solomon, 'since you have asked, not for riches, treasure,honour, the lives of your enemies, or even for a long life, but for wisdom and knowledge to govern my people ofwhom I have made you king,	11 Dios respondió a Salomón: «Ya que me haces esta petición y no reclamas riquezas, ni posesiones, ni gloria, ni la muerte de tus enemigos, ni tampoco una larga vida, sino que pides sabiduría e inteligencia para juzgar a mi pueblo, del cual te he constituido rey,
12 therefore wisdom and knowledge are granted you. I give you riches too, and treasure, and honoursuch as no king had before you and none will have after you.'
13 So Solomon came away from the high place at Gibeon, from the Tent of Meeting, to Jerusalem andreigned over Israel.	13 Salomón regresó a Jerusalén desde el lugar alto de Gabaón, donde estaba la Carpa del Encuentro, y reinó sobre Israel.
14 Solomon then built up a force of chariots and cavalry; he had one thousand four hundred chariots andtwelve thousand horses; these he kept in the chariot towns and near the king at Jerusalem.	14 Salomón reunió carros de guerra y caballería: llegó a tener mil cuatrocientos carros y doce mil caballos, y los acantonó en las ciudades destinadas a los carros, y en Jerusalén, junto al rey.
15 In Jerusalem the king made silver and gold as common as stones, and cedar wood as plentiful assycamore in the lowlands.	15 El hizo que la plata y el oro fueran en Jerusalén tan comunes como las piedras, y la madera de cedro tan abundante como los sicomoros de la Sefelá.
16 Solomon's horses were imported from Muzur and Cilicia. The king's dealers acquired them in Cilicia atthe prevailing price.	16 Los caballos de Salomón procedían de Musrí y de Cilicia. Los agentes del rey los adquirían en Cilicia, a un precio fijo.
17 A chariot was imported from Egypt for six hundred silver shekels and a horse from Cilicia for ahundred and fifty. They also supplied the Hittite and Aramaean kings, who al used them as middlemen.	17 Cada carro importado de Musrí costaba seiscientos siclos de plata; cada caballo ciento cincuenta. En las mismas condiciones, por medio de esos agentes, se exportaban para todos los reyes hititas y para los reyes de Aram.
18 Solomon then gave the order to build a house for the name of Yahweh and a palace in which to reign.	18 Salomón decidió construir una Casa para el nombre del Señor y un palacio real para sí mismo.
