1 The Israelites listed according to heads of families, commanders of thousands and hundreds, withtheir officials in the king's service who dealt with al matters affecting the companies on monthly duty, month bymonth throughout the year, each company consisting of twenty-four thousand men:	1 - I figli d'Israele secondo il loro numero, i capi di famiglia, i tribuni e i centurioni e gli ufficiali addetti al servizio del re, che secondo le loro schiere mensilmente cambiavano, erano ventiquattromila per ciascuna divisione.
2 The commander of the first company detailed for the first month was Jashobeam son of Zabdiel,whose company consisted of twenty-four thousand men.	2 A capo della prima divisione per il primo mese era Jesboam, figlio di Zabdiel ed egli aveva una divisione di ventiquattromila.
3 He belonged to the family of Perez and was the senior military officer of al those detailed for the firstmonth.	3 Egli era dei figli di Fares e comandava a tutti i principi dell'esercito durante il primo mese.
4 The commander of the company for the second month was Dodai the Ahohite, whose companyconsisted of twenty-four thousand men.	4 La divisione del secondo mese era comandata da Dudia Aoite, e sotto di lui da un altro di nome Macellot, che reggeva una parte dell'esercito di ventiquattromila.
5 The officer commanding the third body of men for the third month was Benaiah son of Jehoiada, thechief priest, whose company consisted of twenty-four thousand men.	5 Il capo della terza divisione per il terzo mese era Banaia, sacerdote, figlio di Joiada e la sua divisione risultava di ventiquattromila.

7 The fourth for the fourth month was Asahel brother of Joab, and his son Zebadiah after him, whosecompany consisted of twenty-four thousand men.	7 Il quarto per il quarto mese era Asael fratello di Joab, e Zabadia suo figlio veniva dopo di lui, e nella sua divisione vi erano ventiquattromila.

9 The sixth for the sixth month was Ira son of Ikkesh of Tekoa, whose company consisted of twenty-fourthousand men.	9 Il sesto nel sesto mese era Ira figlio di Acces di Tecua e nella sua divisione eranvi ventiquattromila.
10 The seventh for the seventh month was Helez the Pelonite, one of the Ephraimites, whose companyconsisted of twenty-four thousand men.	10 Il settimo nel settimo mese era Elles Fallonita dei figliuoli di Efraim e nella sua divisione erano ventiquattromila.
11 The eighth for the eighth month was Sibbecai of Hushah, a Zerahite, whose company consisted oftwenty-four thousand men.	11 L'ottavo per l'ottavo mese era Sobocai l'Usatita, della stirpe di Zarai e nella sua divisione vi erano ventiquattromila.
12 The ninth for the ninth month was Abiezer of Anathoth, a Benjaminite, whose company consisted oftwenty-four thousand men.	12 Il nono per il nono mese era Abiezer di Anatot, dei figli di Jemini, e nella sua divisione erano ventiquattromila.
13 The tenth for the tenth month was Maharai of Netophah, a Zerahite, whose company consisted oftwenty-four thousand men.	13 Il decimo per il decimo mese era Marai di Netofati, nella famiglia di Zarai, e nella sua divisione vi erano ventiquattromila.
14 The eleventh for the eleventh month was Benaiah of Pirathon, an Ephraimite, whose companyconsisted of twenty-four thousand men.	14 L'undecimo per l'undecimo mese era Banaia di Faraton, della tribù di Efraim, e nella sua divisione vi erano ventiquattromila.
15 The twelfth for the twelfth month was Heldai of Netophah, of Othniel, whose company consisted oftwenty-four thousand men.	15 Il dodicesimo per il dodicesimo mese era Oldai di Netofati, della famiglia di Gotoniel, e la sua divisione era di ventiquattromila uomini.
16 Responsible for the tribes of Israel were chief Eliezer son of Zichri for the Reubenites, Shephatiahson of Maacah for the Simeonites,	16 I capi delle tribù d'Israele erano: capo dei Rubeniti, Eliezer figlio di Zecri; capo della tribù di Simeon, Safatia figlio di Maaca.
17 Hashabiah son of Kemuel for the Levites, Zadok for the Aaronites,	17 Capo dei leviti, Asabia figlio di Camuel; dei figli di Aronne, Sadoc;
18 Elihu, one of David's brothers, for Judah, Omri son of Michael for Issachar,	18 della tribù di Giuda, Eliu fratello di Davide; della tribù di Issacar, Amri figlio di Micael;
19 Ishmaiah son of Obadiah for Zebulun, Jerimoth son of Azriel for Naphtali,	19 della tribù di Zabulon, Jesmaia figlio di Abdia; della tribù di Neftali, Jerimot figlio di Ozriel;
20 Hoshea son of Azaziah for the Ephraimites, Joel son of Pedaiah for the half-tribe of Manasseh,	20 dei figli di Efraim, Osea figlio di Ozaziu; della mezza tribù di Manasse, Joel figlio di Fadaia;
21 Iddo son of Zechariah for the half-tribe of Manasseh in Gilead, Jaasiel son of Abner for Benjamin,	21 della mezza tribù di Manasse in Galaad, Jaddo figlio di Zaccaria; della tribù di Beniamino, Jasiel figlio di Abner;
22 and Azarel son of Jeroham for Dan. These were the tribal chiefs of Israel.	22 della tribù di Dan, Ezriel figlio di Jeroam. Costoro furono principi dei figli di Israele.
23 Now in the census David did not include those who were twenty years old and under, since Yahwehhad promised to make Israel as numerous as the stars of heaven.	23 Davide non volle fare il censimento di quelli al di sotto dei vent'anni, poichè il Signore aveva detto di voler moltiplicare Israele come le stelle del cielo.
24 Joab son of Zeruiah began the count but never finished. This is why retribution came upon Israel,and the number did not come up to that recorded in the annals of King David.	24 Joab figlio di Sarvia aveva cominciato a fare il censimento ma non lo terminò, poichè per questo fatto l'ira di Dio era scesa sopra Israele, e perciò il numero di quelli che furono numerati non venne scritto nei fasti del re Davide.
25 Overseer of the king's supplies: Azmaveth son of Adiel. Overseer of supplies in the countryside,towns, vil ages and fortresses: Jonathan son of Uzziah.	25 Azmot figlio di Adiel fu preposto ai tesori del re. Ai tesori poi che erano nelle città, nei villaggi e nelle torri era stato messo a capo Jonatan figlio di Ozia.
26 Overseer of the farmers who til ed the land: Ezri son of Chelub.	26 Al lavoro di campagna e agli agricoltori che lavoravano la terra era preposto Ezri figlio di Chelub;
27 Overseer of vineyards: Shimei of Ramah. Overseer of those in the vineyards who looked after thewine cellars: Zabdi of Shepham.	27 mentre ai vignaiuoli comandava Semeia il Romatita; e alle cantine Zabdia l'Afonita.
28 Overseer of olive and sycamore trees in the Shephelah: Baal-Hanan of Geder. Overseer of oilsupplies: Joash.	28 Agli olivi e alle piantagioni di fico, che stavano nelle campagne, Balaman il Gederita; ai depositi di olio Joas;
29 Overseer of cattle at pasture in the plains of Sharon: Shitrai of Sharon. Overseer of cattle in theval eys: Shaphat son of Adlai.	29 agli armenti, che pascevano in Saron, fu preposto Setrai il Saronita; e ai buoi che stavano nelle valli, Safat figlio di Adli;
30 Overseer of camels: Obil the Ishmaelite.	30 sopra i cammelli era preposto Ubil Ismaelita; e sopra gli asini Jadia il Meronatita;
31 Overseer of donkeys: Jehdeiah of Meranoth. Overseer of flocks: Jaziz the Hagrite. Al the abovesupervised the property belonging to King David.	31 sopra le pecore poi Jazis l'Agareo. Tutti costoro erano stati messi a capo dei beni del re Davide.
32 Jonathan, David's uncle, a council or, wise man and scribe, and Jehiel son of Hachmoni took care ofthe king's sons.	32 Jonatan, zio di Davide, era suo consigliere ed era uomo prudente e di scienza. Egli e Jaiel figliuolo di Acamoni stavano coi figli del re.
33 Ahitophel was the king's counsellor and Hushai, the Archite, was Friend of the King.	33 Anche Achitofel era consigliere del re e Cusai Arachita amico del re.
34 Jehoiada son of Benaiah and Abiathar succeeded Ahitophel -- Joab was commander of the king'sarmy.	34 Dopo Achitofel era Joiada figlio di Banaia e Abiatar. Capo dell'esercito del re era Joab.
