1 The Israelites listed according to heads of families, commanders of thousands and hundreds, withtheir officials in the king's service who dealt with al matters affecting the companies on monthly duty, month bymonth throughout the year, each company consisting of twenty-four thousand men:	1 Voici le recensement des fils d’Israël, chefs de familles, chefs de mille et de cent, scribes au service du roi, selon leurs classes et selon la fonction qu’ils remplissaient chaque mois, tout au long de l’année: chaque groupe comptait 24 000 hommes.
2 The commander of the first company detailed for the first month was Jashobeam son of Zabdiel,whose company consisted of twenty-four thousand men.	2 Pour le premier mois, Yachobéam, fils de Zabdiel, était à la tête de la première division, il avait 24 000 hommes dans sa division.
3 He belonged to the family of Perez and was the senior military officer of al those detailed for the firstmonth.	3 Il était l’un des fils de Pérès, chef de tous les officiers du premier mois.
4 The commander of the company for the second month was Dodai the Ahohite, whose companyconsisted of twenty-four thousand men.	4 Pour le second mois, Dodaï l’Ahohite, était à la tête d’une division de 24 000 hommes.
5 The officer commanding the third body of men for the third month was Benaiah son of Jehoiada, thechief priest, whose company consisted of twenty-four thousand men.	5 Pour le troisième mois, Bénayas, fils de Yoyada, le grand prêtre, avait sous ses ordres une division de 24 000 hommes.
6 This was the Benaiah who was an important member of the Thirty and his company. His son wasAmmizabad.	6 C’est Bénayas qui fut le héros des Trente et eut la responsabilité des Trente et de sa division; son fils s’appelait Amizabad.
7 The fourth for the fourth month was Asahel brother of Joab, and his son Zebadiah after him, whosecompany consisted of twenty-four thousand men.	7 Pour le quatrième mois, Azaël frère de Joab était à la tête d’une division de 24 000 hommes; son fils Zébadya lui succéda.
8 The fifth officer commanding for the fifth month was Shamhuth the Zerahite, whose companyconsisted of twenty-four thousand men.	8 Pour le cinquième mois, l’officier Chamehout le Zarhite, était à la tête d’une division de 24 000 hommes.
9 The sixth for the sixth month was Ira son of Ikkesh of Tekoa, whose company consisted of twenty-fourthousand men.	9 Pour le sixième mois, Ira fils d’Ikech, de Tékoa, était à la tête d’une division de 24 000 hommes.
10 The seventh for the seventh month was Helez the Pelonite, one of the Ephraimites, whose companyconsisted of twenty-four thousand men.	10 Pour le septième mois, Hélès le Pélonite, l’un des fils d’Éphraïm, était à la tête d’une division de 24 000 hommes.

16 Responsible for the tribes of Israel were chief Eliezer son of Zichri for the Reubenites, Shephatiahson of Maacah for the Simeonites,	16 Responsables des tribus d’Israël: Éliézer, fils de Zikri, était l’officier en chef des Rubénites, Chefatyas, fils de Maaka, celui des Siméonites,

23 Now in the census David did not include those who were twenty years old and under, since Yahwehhad promised to make Israel as numerous as the stars of heaven.	23 David ne compta pas ceux qui avaient 20 ans ou moins, puisque Yahvé avait promis de rendre Israël aussi nombreux que les étoiles du ciel.
24 Joab son of Zeruiah began the count but never finished. This is why retribution came upon Israel,and the number did not come up to that recorded in the annals of King David.	24 Joab fils de Sérouya commença le recensement, mais il ne le termina pas car la colère de Dieu avait éclaté contre Israël. 25 Overseer of the king's supplies: Azmaveth son of Adiel. Overseer of supplies in the countryside,towns, vil ages and fortresses: Jonathan son of Uzziah.	25 Responsable des réserves du roi: Azmavèt, fils d’Adiel. 27 Overseer of vineyards: Shimei of Ramah. Overseer of those in the vineyards who looked after thewine cellars: Zabdi of Shepham.	27 Responsable des vignobles: Chiméï, de Rama; responsable de ceux qui s’occupaient des réserves de vin: Zabdi, de Chéfam.

31 Overseer of donkeys: Jehdeiah of Meranoth. Overseer of flocks: Jaziz the Hagrite. Al the abovesupervised the property belonging to King David.	31 Responsable du petit bétail: Yaziz le Hagrite. Ils étaient tous surveillants des biens du roi David.
32 Jonathan, David's uncle, a council or, wise man and scribe, and Jehiel son of Hachmoni took care ofthe king's sons.	32 Yonathan, oncle de David, était un conseiller plein d’intelligence et d’instruction. Yéhiel, fils de Hakmoni était chargé de l’éducation des fils du roi.
33 Ahitophel was the king's counsellor and Hushai, the Archite, was Friend of the King.	33 Ahitofel était conseiller du roi. Houchaï l’Arkite était un ami très proche du roi.
34 Jehoiada son of Benaiah and Abiathar succeeded Ahitophel -- Joab was commander of the king'sarmy.	34 Yoyada, fils de Bénayas, et Ébyatar succédèrent à Ahitofel. Joab était le commandant en chef de l’armée du roi.
