NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 The Israelites listed according to heads of families, commanders of thousands and hundreds, withtheir officials in the king's service who dealt with al matters affecting the companies on monthly duty, month bymonth throughout the year, each company consisting of twenty-four thousand men:	1 El número de los israelitas –incluyendo los jefes de familia, los jefes de mil y cien hombres y los oficiales que servían al rey en lo referente a las divisiones que entraban y salían de servicio cada mes, a lo largo de todo el año– era de 24.000 hombres por cada división.
2 The commander of the first company detailed for the first month was Jashobeam son of Zabdiel,whose company consisted of twenty-four thousand men.	2 Al frente de la primera división, la del primer mes, estaba Iasobam, hijo de Zabdiel: su división tenía 24.000 hombres.
3 He belonged to the family of Perez and was the senior military officer of al those detailed for the firstmonth.	3 El pertenecía a la familia de Peres y era el jefe de todos los oficiales del primer mes.
4 The commander of the company for the second month was Dodai the Ahohite, whose companyconsisted of twenty-four thousand men.	4 Al frente de la división del segundo mes estaba Dodai, el ajojita: su división tenía 24.000 hombres.
5 The officer commanding the third body of men for the third month was Benaiah son of Jehoiada, thechief priest, whose company consisted of twenty-four thousand men.	5 El jefe del tercer regimiento, el del tercer mes, era Benaías, hijo del sacerdote Iehoiadá: su división tenía 24.000 hombres.
6 This was the Benaiah who was an important member of the Thirty and his company. His son wasAmmizabad.	6 Benaías era uno de los Treinta guerreros y se hallaba al frente de ellos; en su división estaba también su hijo Amizabad.
7 The fourth for the fourth month was Asahel brother of Joab, and his son Zebadiah after him, whosecompany consisted of twenty-four thousand men.	7 El cuarto, el del cuarto mes, era Asahel, hermano de Joab, y le sucedió su hijo Zebadías: su división tenía 24.000 hombres.
8 The fifth officer commanding for the fifth month was Shamhuth the Zerahite, whose companyconsisted of twenty-four thousand men.	8 El quinto jefe, el del quinto mes, era Samhut, el izrajita: su división tenía 24.000 hombres.
9 The sixth for the sixth month was Ira son of Ikkesh of Tekoa, whose company consisted of twenty-fourthousand men.	9 El sexto, el del sexto mes, era Irá, hijo de Iqués, el tecoíta: su división tenía 24.000 hombres.
10 The seventh for the seventh month was Helez the Pelonite, one of the Ephraimites, whose companyconsisted of twenty-four thousand men.	10 El séptimo, el del séptimo mes, era Jeles, el pelonita, de los descendientes de Efraím: su división tenía 24.000 hombres.
11 The eighth for the eighth month was Sibbecai of Hushah, a Zerahite, whose company consisted oftwenty-four thousand men.	11 El octavo, el del octavo mes, era Sibecai, de Jusá, de los zarjitas: su división tenía 24.000 hombres.
12 The ninth for the ninth month was Abiezer of Anathoth, a Benjaminite, whose company consisted oftwenty-four thousand men.	12 El noveno, el del noveno mes, era Abiézer, de Anatot, de los benjaminitas: su división tenía 24.000 hombres.
13 The tenth for the tenth month was Maharai of Netophah, a Zerahite, whose company consisted oftwenty-four thousand men.	13 El décimo, el del décimo mes, era Maharai, de Netofá, de los zarjitas: su división tenía 24.000 hombres.
14 The eleventh for the eleventh month was Benaiah of Pirathon, an Ephraimite, whose companyconsisted of twenty-four thousand men.	14 El undécimo, el del undécimo mes, era Benaías, de Pireatón, de los descendientes de Efraím: su división tenía 24.000 hombres.
15 The twelfth for the twelfth month was Heldai of Netophah, of Othniel, whose company consisted oftwenty-four thousand men.	15 El duodécimo, el del duodécimo mes, era Jeldai, de Netofá, de la estirpe de Otniel: su división tenía 24.000 hombres.
16 Responsible for the tribes of Israel were chief Eliezer son of Zichri for the Reubenites, Shephatiahson of Maacah for the Simeonites,	16 Los jefes que estaban al frente de las tribus de Israel fueron los siguientes: De Rubén: Eliezer, hijo de Zicrí. De Simeón: Sefatías, hijo de Maacá.
17 Hashabiah son of Kemuel for the Levites, Zadok for the Aaronites,	17 De Leví: Jasabías, hijo de Quemuel. De Aarón: Sadoc.
18 Elihu, one of David's brothers, for Judah, Omri son of Michael for Issachar,	18 De Judá: Elihú, uno de los hermanos de David. De Isacar: Omrí, hijo de Micael.
19 Ishmaiah son of Obadiah for Zebulun, Jerimoth son of Azriel for Naphtali,	19 De Zabulón: Ismaías, hijo de Abdías. De Neftalí: Ierimot, hijo de Azriel.
20 Hoshea son of Azaziah for the Ephraimites, Joel son of Pedaiah for the half-tribe of Manasseh,	20 De los descendientes de Efraím: Oseas, hijo de Azazías. De la mitad de la tribu de Manasés: Joel, hijo de Pedaías.
21 Iddo son of Zechariah for the half-tribe of Manasseh in Gilead, Jaasiel son of Abner for Benjamin,	21 De la mitad de la tribu de Manasés, en Galaad: Idó, hijo de Zacarías. De Benjamín: Iaasiel, hijo de Abner.
22 and Azarel son of Jeroham for Dan. These were the tribal chiefs of Israel.	22 De Dan: Azarel, hijo de Ierojam. Estos eran los jefes de las tribus de Israel.
23 Now in the census David did not include those who were twenty years old and under, since Yahwehhad promised to make Israel as numerous as the stars of heaven.	23 David no hizo el censo de los que tenían menos de veinte años, porque el Señor le había prometido que multiplicaría a Israel como las estrellas del cielo.
24 Joab son of Zeruiah began the count but never finished. This is why retribution came upon Israel,and the number did not come up to that recorded in the annals of King David.	24 Joab, hijo de Seruiá, había comenzado a hacer el censo, pero no lo terminó, porque a causa de él, la ira del Señor se descargó sobre Israel. Por eso el resultado del censo no figura en el libro de las Crónicas del rey David.
25 Overseer of the king's supplies: Azmaveth son of Adiel. Overseer of supplies in the countryside,towns, vil ages and fortresses: Jonathan son of Uzziah.	25 Azmávet, hijo de Adiel, era el encargado de los tesoros del rey. Jonatán, hijo de Uzías, el encargado de los depósitos de los campos, de las ciudades, de los poblados y de las fortalezas.
26 Overseer of the farmers who til ed the land: Ezri son of Chelub.	26 Ezrí, hijo de Quelub, el encargado de los agricultores que trabajaban las tierras.
27 Overseer of vineyards: Shimei of Ramah. Overseer of those in the vineyards who looked after thewine cellars: Zabdi of Shepham.	27 Simei, de Ramá, el encargado de las viñas. Sabdí, de Ramá, el encargado de las viñas. Sabdí, el sifmita, el encargado del producto de las viñas y de las bodegas.
28 Overseer of olive and sycamore trees in the Shephelah: Baal-Hanan of Geder. Overseer of oilsupplies: Joash.	28 Baal Janán, de Guéder, el encargado de los olivares y los sicomoros de la Sefelá. Joás, el encargado de los depósitos de aceite.

31 Overseer of donkeys: Jehdeiah of Meranoth. Overseer of flocks: Jaziz the Hagrite. Al the abovesupervised the property belonging to King David.	31 Y Iazíz, de Agar, el encargado del ganado menor. Todos estos eran los encargados de los bienes que pertenecían al rey David.
32 Jonathan, David's uncle, a council or, wise man and scribe, and Jehiel son of Hachmoni took care ofthe king's sons.	32 Jonatán, tío de David, hombre prudente e instruido, era consejero. Iejiel, hijo de Iacmoní, era preceptor de los hijos del rey.
33 Ahitophel was the king's counsellor and Hushai, the Archite, was Friend of the King.	33 Ajitófel era consejero del rey. Jusai, el arquita, era amigo del rey.
34 Jehoiada son of Benaiah and Abiathar succeeded Ahitophel -- Joab was commander of the king'sarmy.	34 Los sucesores de Ajitófel fueron Iehoiadá, hijo de Benaías, y Abiatar. Joab era el jefe del ejército real.
