1 As regards the orders of the gatekeepers: Of the Korahites there was Meshelemiah son of Kore, oneof the sons of Ebiasaph,	1 Divisiones autem janitorum : de Coritis Meselemia, filius Core, de filiis Asaph.
2 and Meshelemiah's sons: Zechariah the first-born, Jediael the second, Zebadiah the third, Jathniel thefourth,	2 Filii Meselemiæ : Zacharias primogenitus, Jadihel secundus, Zabadias tertius, Jathanaël quartus,
3 Elam the fifth, Jehohanan the sixth, Elioenai the seventh.	3 Ælam quintus, Johanan sextus, Elioënai septimus.
4 Obed-Edom's sons were: Shemaiah the first-born, Jehozabad the second, Joah the third, Sacar thefourth, Nethanel the fifth,	4 Filii autem Obededom : Semeias primogenitus, Jozabad secundus, Joaha tertius, Sachar quartus, Nathanaël quintus,
5 Ammiel the sixth, Issachar the seventh, Peul ethai the eighth; God had indeed blessed him.	5 Ammiel sextus, Issachar septimus, Phollathi octavus : quia benedixit illi Dominus.
6 His son Shemaiah also had sons who wielded authority in their family, because they were men ofoutstanding quality.	6 Semei autem filio ejus nati sunt filii, præfecti familiarum suarum : erant enim viri fortissimi.
7 The sons of Shemaiah were: Othni, Rephael, Obed and Elzabad, whose brothers Elihu andSemachiah were outstanding men.	7 Filii ergo Semeiæ : Othni, et Raphaël, et Obed, Elzabad, fratres ejus viri fortissimi : Eliu quoque et Samachias.
8 Al these were sons of Obed-Edom, who with their sons and brothers were men of standing, wel fittedfor their task. Obed-Edom had sixty-two.	8 Omnes hi, de filiis Obededom : ipsi, et filii et fratres eorum, fortissimi ad ministrandum, sexaginta duo de Obededom.
9 Meshelemiah had eighteen outstanding sons and brothers.	9 Porro Meselemiæ filii, et fratres eorum robustissimi, decem et octo.
10 Hosah, one of the sons of Merari, had sons: Shimri was the first, for although he was not the first-born his father had made him the chief.	10 De Hosa autem, id est, de filiis Merari : Semri princeps (non enim habuerat primogenitum, et idcirco posuerat eum pater ejus in principem),
11 Hilkiah was the second, Tebaliah the third, Zechariah the fourth: Hosah had thirteen sons andbrothers in al .	11 Helcias secundus, Tabelias tertius, Zacharias quartus : omnes hi filii et fratres Hosa, tredecim.
12 These orders of gatekeepers, al ocated according to their headmen, had duties, just like theirbrothers, of serving in the house of Yahweh.	12 Hi divisi sunt in janitores, ut semper principes custodiarum, sicut et fratres eorum ministrarent in domo Domini.
13 Similarly, they drew lots for each gate, whether their families were large or small.	13 Missæ sunt ergo sortes ex æquo, et parvis et magnis, per familias suas in unamquamque portarum.
14 For the eastern one, the lot fel to Shelemiah; and when they drew lots for Zechariah his son, ashrewd counsel or, his lot came out for the north.	14 Cecidit ergo sors orientalis, Selemiæ. Porro Zachariæ filio ejus, viro prudentissimo et erudito, sortito obtigit plaga septentrionalis.
15 To Obed-Edom went the south, and to his sons the storehouses.	15 Obededom vero et filiis ejus ad austrum : in qua parte domus erat seniorum concilium.
16 To Shuppim and Hosah went the west with the Gate of the Fel ed Tree-trunk on the upper road. Thecorresponding guards were as fol ows:	16 Sephim et Hosa ad occidentem, juxta portam, quæ ducit ad viam ascensionis : custodia contra custodiam.
17 for the east gate, six per day; for the north gate, four per day; for the south gate, four per day; for thestorehouses, two each;	17 Ad orientem vero Levitæ sex : et ad aquilonem, quatuor per diem : atque ad meridiem similiter in die quatuor : et ubi erat concilium bini et bini.
18 for the Parbar at the west gate, four by the road and two for the Parbar.	18 In cellulis quoque janitorum ad occidentem quatuor in via, binique per cellulas.
19 These were the orders of the gatekeepers of the sons of Korah and the sons of Merari.	19 Hæ sunt divisiones janitorum filiorum Core et Merari.
20 The Levites, their brothers, who were responsible for the treasures of the house of God and for thetreasures of consecrated gifts,	20 Porro Achias erat super thesauros domus Dei, et vasa sanctorum.
21 were the sons of Ladan and belonged to the Gershonites -- the heads of the families of Ladan weredescended from Ladan the Gershonite -- that is to say, the Jehielites.	21 Filii Ledan, filii Gersonni : de Ledan principes familiarum Ledan, et Gersonni, Jehieli.
22 The sons of the Jehielites, Zetham and Joel his brother, were responsible for the treasures of thehouse of Yahweh.	22 Filii Jehieli : Zathan, et Joël fratres ejus super thesauros domus Domini.
23 Over the Amramites, Izharites, Hebronites, and Uzzielites	23 Amramitis, et Isaaritis, et Hebronitis, et Ozihelitis.
24 was Shebuel son of Gershom, son of Moses, who was governor of the treasures;	24 Subaël autem filius Gersom filii Moysi, præpositus thesauris.
25 and his brothers of the line of Eliezer were Rehabiah his son, Jeshaiah his son, Joram his son, Zichrihis son and Shelomoth his son.	25 Fratres quoque ejus Eliezer, cujus filius Rahabia, et hujus filius Isaias, et hujus filius Joram, hujus quoque filius Zechri, et hujus filius Selemith.
26 This Shelomoth and his kinsmen were responsible for al the consecrated treasures dedicated byKing David, by the heads of families, by the commanders of the thousands and hundreds and by thecommanders of the army,	26 Ipse Selemith, et fratres ejus, super thesauros sanctorum quæ sanctificavit David rex, et principes familiarum, et tribuni, et centuriones, et duces exercitus,
27 who had dedicated a part of the spoils of war to the service of the house of Yahweh,	27 de bellis et manubiis præliorum, quæ consecraverant ad instaurationem et supellectilem templi Domini.
28 and also for al that Samuel the seer, Saul son of Kish, Abner son of Ner and Joab son of Zeruiahhad dedicated. In fact, whatever was dedicated was the responsibility of Shelomoth and his kinsmen.	28 Hæc autem universa sanctificavit Samuel videns, et Saul filius Cis, et Abner filius Ner, et Joab filius Sarviæ : omnes qui sanctificaverant ea per manum Selemith et fratrum ejus.
29 Of the Izharites, Chananiah and his sons were assigned to secular duties for Israel as officials andjudges.	29 Isaaritis vero præerat Chonenias, et filii ejus ad opera forinsecus super Israël ad docendum et judicandum eos.
30 Of the Hebronites, Hashabiah and his kinsmen, one thousand seven hundred outstanding men werein charge of Israel west of Jordan in everything pertaining to Yahweh and to the service of the king.	30 Porro de Hebronitis Hasabias, et fratres ejus viri fortissimi, mille septingenti præerant Israëli trans Jordanem contra occidentem, in cunctis operibus Domini, et in ministerium regis.
31 Of the Hebronites, Jerijah was the head. In the fortieth year of David's reign research was done onthe lineage and relationships of the Hebronites, and men of outstanding quality from among them were found atJazer in Gilead.	31 Hebronitarum autem princeps fuit Jeria secundum familias et cognationes eorum. Quadragesimo anno regni David recensiti sunt, et inventi sunt viri fortissimi in Jazer Galaad,
32 There were twenty-seven hundred outstanding men, heads of families, whom King David put incharge of the Reubenites, the Gadites and the half-tribe of Manasseh in al matters pertaining to God and theking.	32 fratresque ejus robustioris ætatis, duo millia septingenti principes familiarum. Præposuit autem eos David rex Rubenitis, et Gadditis, et dimidiæ tribui Manasse, in omne ministerium Dei et regis.
