1 As regards the orders of the gatekeepers: Of the Korahites there was Meshelemiah son of Kore, oneof the sons of Ebiasaph,	1 Voici les classes des portiers: Pour les Coréites: Méchélémyas, fils de Koré, l’un des fils d’Ébyasaph.
2 and Meshelemiah's sons: Zechariah the first-born, Jediael the second, Zebadiah the third, Jathniel thefourth,	2 Méchélémyas eut pour fils: Zékaryas le premier, Yédiaël le second, Zébadya le troisième, Yatniel le quatrième,
3 Elam the fifth, Jehohanan the sixth, Elioenai the seventh.	3 Élam le cinquième, Yohanan le sixième, Élyoénaï le septième.
4 Obed-Edom's sons were: Shemaiah the first-born, Jehozabad the second, Joah the third, Sacar thefourth, Nethanel the fifth,	4 Obed-Édom eut pour fils: Chémayas l’aîné, Yozabad le second, Yoah le troisième, Sakar le quatrième, Nathanaël le cinquième,

6 His son Shemaiah also had sons who wielded authority in their family, because they were men ofoutstanding quality.	6 Son fils Chémayas eut des fils qui furent considérés dans leurs familles, car ils étaient des hommes de valeur.
7 The sons of Shemaiah were: Othni, Rephael, Obed and Elzabad, whose brothers Elihu andSemachiah were outstanding men.	7 Voici les fils de Chémayas: Otni, Rephaël, Obed, Elzabad, et ses frères, Élihou et Semakyas, hommes de valeur.
8 Al these were sons of Obed-Edom, who with their sons and brothers were men of standing, wel fittedfor their task. Obed-Edom had sixty-two.	8 Ils étaient tous fils d’Obed-Édom. Eux, leurs fils, leurs frères, étaient des hommes courageux et énergiques dans leur travail. De la famille d’Obed-Édom, ils étaient 62.
9 Meshelemiah had eighteen outstanding sons and brothers.	9 Méchélémyas eut des fils et des frères: 18 hommes courageux.
10 Hosah, one of the sons of Merari, had sons: Shimri was the first, for although he was not the first-born his father had made him the chief.	10 Hosa, fils de Mérari, eut pour fils: le chef Chimri, car bien qu’il ne soit pas le premier-né, son père en avait fait le chef;
11 Hilkiah was the second, Tebaliah the third, Zechariah the fourth: Hosah had thirteen sons andbrothers in al .	11 Hilkiyas était le second, Tebalyas le troisième, Zékaryas le quatrième. Les fils et frères de Hosa étaient 13 en tout.
12 These orders of gatekeepers, al ocated according to their headmen, had duties, just like theirbrothers, of serving in the house of Yahweh.	12 Ces groupes de portiers, tous des hommes, avaient comme leurs frères des responsabilités dans le service du Temple de Yahvé.
13 Similarly, they drew lots for each gate, whether their families were large or small.	13 On tira au sort, porte par porte, pour attribuer les charges, pour les petits comme pour les grands, selon leur famille.
14 For the eastern one, the lot fel to Shelemiah; and when they drew lots for Zechariah his son, ashrewd counsel or, his lot came out for the north.	14 Pour l’Orient, le sort tomba sur Chélémyas; son fils Zékaryas était un judicieux conseiller, le sort lui attribua la porte nord.
15 To Obed-Edom went the south, and to his sons the storehouses.	15 À Obed-Édom revint le sud et à ses fils, les magasins.

26 This Shelomoth and his kinsmen were responsible for al the consecrated treasures dedicated byKing David, by the heads of families, by the commanders of the thousands and hundreds and by thecommanders of the army,	26 Ce Chelomit et ses frères étaient chargés de toutes les offrandes saintes consacrées par le roi David, les chefs de familles, les chefs de mille et de cent et les chefs de l’armée.
27 who had dedicated a part of the spoils of war to the service of the house of Yahweh,	27 C’était du butin de guerre qui avait été consacré pour enrichir la Maison de Yahvé.
28 and also for al that Samuel the seer, Saul son of Kish, Abner son of Ner and Joab son of Zeruiahhad dedicated. In fact, whatever was dedicated was the responsibility of Shelomoth and his kinsmen.	28 Il y avait aussi tous les objets consacrés par Samuel, le voyant, Saül fils de Kich, Abner fils de Ner, et Joab fils Sérouya. Tous ces objets consacrés étaient sous la responsabilité de Chelomit et de ses frères.
29 Of the Izharites, Chananiah and his sons were assigned to secular duties for Israel as officials andjudges.	29 Pour les Yicharites: Kénanyas et ses fils étaient chargés des affaires civiles d’Israël, comme scribes et juges.
30 Of the Hebronites, Hashabiah and his kinsmen, one thousand seven hundred outstanding men werein charge of Israel west of Jordan in everything pertaining to Yahweh and to the service of the king.	30 Parmi les Hébronites, Hachabyas et ses frères, 1 700 guerriers étaient chargés de la surveillance d’Israël à l’ouest du Jourdain, pour tout le service de Yahvé et le service du roi.
31 Of the Hebronites, Jerijah was the head. In the fortieth year of David's reign research was done onthe lineage and relationships of the Hebronites, and men of outstanding quality from among them were found atJazer in Gilead.	31 Pour les Hébronites, Yériyas était le chef, selon la généalogie des familles d’Hébron. En l’an 40 du règne de David, on fit des recherches et l’on trouva chez eux des hommes de valeur établis à Yazer en Galaad.
32 There were twenty-seven hundred outstanding men, heads of families, whom King David put incharge of the Reubenites, the Gadites and the half-tribe of Manasseh in al matters pertaining to God and theking.	32 Le roi David désigna 2 700 de ces hommes de valeur, chefs de familles, frères de Yériyas, et leur confia toutes les affaires de Dieu et les affaires du roi, dans les tribus de Ruben, de Gad et dans la demi-tribu de Manassé.
