2 Kings 15

NEW JERUSALEM	NOVA VULGATA
1 In the seventeenth year of Jeroboam king of Israel, Uzziah son of Amaziah became king of Judah.	1 Anno vicesimo septimo Ieroboam regis Israel regnavit Azarias filius Amasiae regis Iudae.
2 He was sixteen years old when he came to the throne, and he reigned for fifty-two years in Jerusalem.His mother's name was Jecoliah of Jerusalem.	2 Sedecim annorum erat, cum regnare coepisset, et quinquaginta duobus annis regnavit in Ierusalem. Nomen matris eius Iechelia de Ierusalem.
3 He did what Yahweh regards as right, just as his father Amaziah had done.	3 Fecitque, quod erat placitum coram Domino, iuxta omnia, quae fecit Amasias pater eius.
4 The high places, however, were not abolished, and the people stil offered sacrifices and incense onthe high places.	4 Verumtamen excelsa non est demolitus; adhuc populus sacrificabat et adolebat in excelsis.
5 But Yahweh struck the king, and he was afflicted with a virulent skin-disease til his dying day. He livedconfined to his room, while Jotham the king's son, who was master of the palace, governed the country.	5 Percussit autem Dominus regem, et fuit leprosus usque in diem mortis suae et habitabat in domo separata seorsum; Ioatham vero filius regis gubernabat palatium et iudicabat populum terrae.

7 Then Uzziah fel asleep with his ancestors and was buried in the City of David; his son Jotham thensucceeded him.	7 Et dormivit Azarias cum patribus suis, sepelieruntque eum cum maioribus suis in civitate David; et regnavit Ioatham filius eius pro eo.
8 In the thirty-eighth year of Uzziah king of Judah, Zechariah son of Jeroboam became king of Israel inSamaria for six months.	8 Anno tricesimo octavo Azariae regis Iudae regnavit Zacharias filius Ieroboam super Israel in Samaria sex mensibus.
9 He did what is displeasing to Yahweh, as his fathers had done; he did not give up the sins into whichJeroboam son of Nebat had led Israel. Shal um son of Jabesh plotted against him, murdered him at Ibleam,	9 Et fecit, quod malum est coram Domino, sicut fecerant patres eius; non recessit a peccatis Ieroboam filii Nabat, qui peccare fecit Israel.
10 and succeeded him.	10 Coniuravit autem contra eum Sellum filius Iabes percussitque eum in Ieblaam et interfecit; regnavitque pro eo.

12 This was the word which Yahweh had spoken to Jehu, 'Your sons will sit on the throne of Israel to thefourth generation.' And so it turned out.	12 Iste est sermo Domini, quem locutus est ad Iehu dicens: “ Filii usque ad quartam generationem sedebunt de te super thronum Israel ”. Factumque est ita.
13 Shal um son of Jabesh became king in the thirty-ninth year of Uzziah king of Judah and reigned forone month in Samaria.	13 Sellum filius Iabes regnavit tricesimo nono anno Azariae regis Iudae; regnavit autem uno mense in Samaria.
14 Then Menahem son of Gadi marched from Tirzah, entered Samaria, murdered Shal um son of Jabeshthere and succeeded him.	14 Et ascendit Manahem filius Gadi de Thersa venitque Samariam et percussit Sellum filium Iabes in Samaria et interfecit eum; regnavitque pro eo.

16 Menahem then sacked Tappuah -- kil ing all who were in it -- and its territory from Tirzah onwards,because it had not opened its gates to him; he sacked the town and disembowel ed al the pregnant women.	16 Tunc percussit Manahem Thapsam et omnes, qui erant in ea, et terminos eius de Thersa; noluerant enim aperire ei. 17 In the thirty-ninth year of Uzziah king of Judah, Menahem son of Gadi became king of Israel. Hereigned for ten years in Samaria.	17 Anno tricesimo nono Azariae regis Iudae regnavit Manahem filius Gadi super Israel decem annis in Samaria.
18 He did what is displeasing to Yahweh, he did not give up the sins into which Jeroboam son of Nebathad led Israel. In his days	18 Fecitque, quod erat malum coram Domino; non recessit a peccatis Ieroboam filii Nabat, qui peccare fecit Israel. In diebus eius
19 Pul king of Assyria invaded the country. Menahem gave Pul a thousand talents of silver in return for his support in strengthening his hold on the royal power.	19 venit Phul rex Assyriorum in terram, et dedit Manahem Phul mille talenta argenti, ut esset ei in auxilio et firmaret regnum eius.
20 Menahem levied this sum from Israel, from al the men of rank, at the rate of fifty shekels a head, tobe given to the king of Assyria, who then withdrew and did not stay in the country.	20 Indixitque Manahem argentum super Israel cunctis potentibus, ut daret regi Assyriorum, quinquaginta siclos argenti per singulos. 23 In the fiftieth year of Uzziah king of Judah, Pekahiah son of Menahem became king of Israel inSamaria. He reigned for two years.	23 Anno quinquagesimo Azariae regis Iudae regnavit Phaceia filius Manahem super Israel in Samaria biennio.
24 He did what is displeasing to Yahweh; he did not give up the sins into which Jeroboam son of Nebathad led Israel.	24 Et fecit, quod erat malum coram Domino; non recessit a peccatis Ieroboam filii Nabat, qui peccare fecit Israel.
25 Pekah son of Remaliah, his equerry, plotted against him and assassinated him in the palace keep . . .He had fifty Gileadites with him. He kil ed the king and succeeded him.	25 Coniuravit autem adversus eum Phacee filius Romeliae dux eius et percussit eum in Samaria in turre domus regiae, et cum eo erant quinquaginta viri de filiis Galaaditarum. Et interfecit eum regnavitque pro eo.

28 He did what is displeasing to Yahweh; he did not give up the sins into which Jeroboam son of Nebathad led Israel.	28 Et fecit, quod malum erat coram Domino; non recessit a peccatis Ieroboam filii Nabat, qui peccare fecit Israel.
29 In the days of Pekah king of Israel, Tiglath-Pileser king of Assyria came and captured Ijon, Abel-Beth-Maacah, Janoah, Kedesh, Hazor, Gilead and Galilee -- the whole territory of Naphtali and deported thepopulation to Assyria.	29 In diebus Phacee regis Israel venit Theglathphalasar rex Assur et cepit Ahion et Abelbethmaacha et Ianoe et Cedes et Asor et Galaad et Galilaeam, universam terram Nephthali, et transtulit eos in Assur.
30 Hoshea son of Elah hatched a plot against Pekah son of Remaliah; he murdered the king andsucceeded him.	30 Coniuravit autem et tetendit insidias Osee filius Ela contra Phacee filium Romeliae; et percussit eum et interfecit regnavitque pro eo vicesimo anno Ioatham filii Oziae.

33 He was twenty-five years old when he came to the throne, and he reigned for sixteen years inJerusalem. His mother's name was Jerusha daughter of Zadok.	33 Viginti quinque annorum erat, cum regnare coepisset, et sedecim annis regnavit in Ierusalem. Nomen matris eius Ierusa filia Sadoc.
34 He did what Yahweh regards as right, just as his father Uzziah had done.	34 Fecitque, quod erat placitum coram Domino; iuxta omnia, quae fecerat Ozias pater suus, operatus est.
35 The high places, however, were not abolished, and the people stil offered sacrifices and incense onthe high places. It was he who built the Upper Gate of the Temple of Yahweh.	35 Verumtamen excelsa non abstulit; adhuc populus immolabat et adolebat in excelsis. Ipse aedificavit portam domus Domini superiorem.

37 At that time Yahweh began sending Razon king of Aram and Pekah son of Remaliah against Judah.	37 In diebus illis coepit Dominus mittere in Iudam Rasin regem Syriae et Phacee filium Romeliae.
38 Then Jotham fel asleep with his ancestors and was buried in the City of David, his ancestor; his sonAhaz succeeded him.	38 Et dormivit Ioatham cum patribus suis sepultusque est cum eis in civitate David patris sui; et regnavit Achaz filius eius pro eo.
