2 Kings 15

NEW JERUSALEM	JERUSALEM
1 In the seventeenth year of Jeroboam king of Israel, Uzziah son of Amaziah became king of Judah.	1 En la vingt-septième année de Jéroboam, roi d'Israël, Ozias fils d'Amasias devint roi de Juda.
2 He was sixteen years old when he came to the throne, and he reigned for fifty-two years in Jerusalem.His mother's name was Jecoliah of Jerusalem.	2 Il avait seize ans à son avènement et régna 52 ans à Jérusalem; sa mère s'appelait Yekolyahu et étaitde Jérusalem.
3 He did what Yahweh regards as right, just as his father Amaziah had done.	3 Il fit ce qui est agréable à Yahvé, comme tout ce qu'avait fait son père Amasias.
4 The high places, however, were not abolished, and the people stil offered sacrifices and incense onthe high places.	4 Seulement, les hauts lieux ne disparurent pas et le peuple continuait d'offrir sacrifices et encens surles hauts lieux.
5 But Yahweh struck the king, and he was afflicted with a virulent skin-disease til his dying day. He livedconfined to his room, while Jotham the king's son, who was master of the palace, governed the country.	5 Mais Yahvé frappa le roi et il fut affligé de la lèpre jusqu'au jour de sa mort. Il demeura confiné à lachambre, Yotam, son fils, était maître du palais et administrait le peuple.

7 Then Uzziah fel asleep with his ancestors and was buried in the City of David; his son Jotham thensucceeded him.	7 Ozias se coucha avec ses pères, on l'enterra dans la Cité de David et son fils Yotam devint roi à saplace.
8 In the thirty-eighth year of Uzziah king of Judah, Zechariah son of Jeroboam became king of Israel inSamaria for six months.	8 En la trente-huitième année d'Ozias, roi de Juda, Zacharie fils de Jéroboam devint roi sur Israël àSamarie, pour six mois.
9 He did what is displeasing to Yahweh, as his fathers had done; he did not give up the sins into whichJeroboam son of Nebat had led Israel. Shal um son of Jabesh plotted against him, murdered him at Ibleam,	9 Il fit ce qui déplaît à Yahvé, comme avaient fait ses pères, il ne se détourna pas des péchés deJéroboam fils de Nebat, où celui-ci avait entraîné Israël.
10 and succeeded him.	10 Shallum fils de Yabesh fit une conspiration contre lui, il le frappa à mort à Yibleam et devint roi àsa place.

12 This was the word which Yahweh had spoken to Jehu, 'Your sons will sit on the throne of Israel to thefourth generation.' And so it turned out.	12 C'était ce que Yahvé avait dit à Jéhu: "Tes fils jusqu'à la quatrième génération s'assiéront sur letrône d'Israël"; et il en fut ainsi.
13 Shal um son of Jabesh became king in the thirty-ninth year of Uzziah king of Judah and reigned forone month in Samaria.	13 Shallum fils de Yabesh devint roi en la trente-neuvième année d'Ozias, roi de Juda, et régna unmois à Samarie.
14 Then Menahem son of Gadi marched from Tirzah, entered Samaria, murdered Shal um son of Jabeshthere and succeeded him.	14 Menahem fils de Gadi monta de Tirça, entra à Samarie, y frappa à mort Shallum fils de Yabesh etdevint roi à sa place.

16 Menahem then sacked Tappuah -- kil ing all who were in it -- and its territory from Tirzah onwards,because it had not opened its gates to him; he sacked the town and disembowel ed al the pregnant women.	16 C'est alors que Menahem châtia Tappuah -- tuant tous ceux qui y étaient -- et son territoire enpartant de Tirça, parce qu'on ne lui avait pas ouvert les portes; il châtia la ville et éventra toutes les femmesenceintes.
17 In the thirty-ninth year of Uzziah king of Judah, Menahem son of Gadi became king of Israel. Hereigned for ten years in Samaria.	17 En la trente-neuvième année d'Ozias, roi de Juda, Menahem fils de Gadi devint roi sur Israël; ilrégna dix ans à Samarie.
18 He did what is displeasing to Yahweh, he did not give up the sins into which Jeroboam son of Nebathad led Israel. In his days	18 Il fit ce qui déplaît à Yahvé, il ne se détourna pas des péchés de Jéroboam fils de Nebat, où celui-ciavait entraîné Israël. De son temps,
19 Pul king of Assyria invaded the country. Menahem gave Pul a thousand talents of silver in return for his support in strengthening his hold on the royal power.	19 Pul, roi d'Assyrie, envahit le pays. Menahem donna à Pul mille talents d'argent pour qu'il le soutîntet qu'il affermît le pouvoir royal entre ses mains.
20 Menahem levied this sum from Israel, from al the men of rank, at the rate of fifty shekels a head, tobe given to the king of Assyria, who then withdrew and did not stay in the country.	20 Menahem préleva cette somme sur Israël, sur tous les notables, pour la donner au roi d'Assyrie, àraison de 50 sicles d'argent par tête. Alors le roi d'Assyrie s'en retourna et ne resta pas là, dans le pays.

23 In the fiftieth year of Uzziah king of Judah, Pekahiah son of Menahem became king of Israel inSamaria. He reigned for two years.	23 En la cinquantième année d'Ozias, roi de Juda, Peqahya fils de Menahem devint roi sur Israël àSamarie, pour deux ans.
24 He did what is displeasing to Yahweh; he did not give up the sins into which Jeroboam son of Nebathad led Israel.	24 Il fit ce qui déplaît à Yahvé, il ne se détourna pas des péchés de Jéroboam fils de Nebat, où celui-ciavait entraîné Israël.
25 Pekah son of Remaliah, his equerry, plotted against him and assassinated him in the palace keep . . .He had fifty Gileadites with him. He kil ed the king and succeeded him.	25 Son écuyer Péqah fils de Remalyahu complota contre lui et le frappa à Samarie, dans le donjon dupalais royal... Il y avait avec lui 50 hommes de Galaad. Il fit mourir le roi et régna à sa place.

27 In the fifty-second year of Uzziah king of Judah, Pekah son of Remaliah became king of Israel inSamaria. He reigned for twenty years.	27 En la cinquante-deuxième année d'Ozias, roi de Juda, Péqah fils de Remalyahu devint roi sur Israëlà Samarie; il régna vingt ans.
28 He did what is displeasing to Yahweh; he did not give up the sins into which Jeroboam son of Nebathad led Israel.	28 Il fit ce qui déplaît à Yahvé, il ne se détourna pas des péchés de Jéroboam fils de Nebat, où celui-ciavait entraîné Israël.
29 In the days of Pekah king of Israel, Tiglath-Pileser king of Assyria came and captured Ijon, Abel-Beth-Maacah, Janoah, Kedesh, Hazor, Gilead and Galilee -- the whole territory of Naphtali and deported thepopulation to Assyria.	29 Au temps de Péqah, roi d'Israël, Téglat-Phalasar, roi d'Assyrie, vint s'emparer de Iyyôn, d'Abel-Bet-Maaka, de Yanoah, de Qédesh, de Haçor, de Galaad, de la Galilée, tout le pays de Nephtali, et il déporta leshabitants en Assyrie.
30 Hoshea son of Elah hatched a plot against Pekah son of Remaliah; he murdered the king andsucceeded him.	30 Osée fils d'Ela ourdit un complot contre Péqah fils de Remalyahu, il le frappa à mort et devint roi àsa place.

32 In the second year of Pekah son of Remaliah, king of Israel, Jotham son of Uzziah became king ofJudah.	32 En la deuxième année de Péqah fils de Remalyahu, roi d'Israël, Yotam fils d'Ozias devint roi deJuda.
33 He was twenty-five years old when he came to the throne, and he reigned for sixteen years inJerusalem. His mother's name was Jerusha daughter of Zadok.	33 Il avait 25 ans à son avènement et il régna seize ans à Jérusalem; sa mère s'appelait Yerusha, fillede Sadoq.
34 He did what Yahweh regards as right, just as his father Uzziah had done.	34 Il fit ce qui est agréable à Yahvé, imitant en tout la conduite de son père Ozias.
35 The high places, however, were not abolished, and the people stil offered sacrifices and incense onthe high places. It was he who built the Upper Gate of the Temple of Yahweh.	35 Seulement, les hauts lieux ne disparurent pas, le peuple continuait d'offrir sacrifices et encens surles hauts lieux. C'est lui qui construisit la Porte Supérieure du Temple de Yahvé.

37 At that time Yahweh began sending Razon king of Aram and Pekah son of Remaliah against Judah.	37 En ces jours-là, Yahvé commença d'envoyer contre Juda Raçôn, roi d'Aram, et Péqah, fils deRemalyahu.
38 Then Jotham fel asleep with his ancestors and was buried in the City of David, his ancestor; his sonAhaz succeeded him.	38 Yotam se coucha avec ses pères, on l'enterra dans la Cité de David, son ancêtre, et son fils Achazdevint roi à sa place.
