NEW JERUSALEM	BIBLIA
1 In the seventeenth year of Jeroboam king of Israel, Uzziah son of Amaziah became king of Judah.	1 En el año veintisiete de Jeroboam, rey de Israel, comenzó a reinar Ozías, hijo de Amasías, rey de Judá.
2 He was sixteen years old when he came to the throne, and he reigned for fifty-two years in Jerusalem.His mother's name was Jecoliah of Jerusalem.	2 Tenía dieciséis años cuando comenzó a reinar y reinó 52 años en Jerusalén; el nombre de su madre era Yekolía de Jerusalén.
3 He did what Yahweh regards as right, just as his father Amaziah had done.	3 Hizo lo recto a los ojos de Yahveh, enteramente como lo había hecho su padre Amasías.

5 But Yahweh struck the king, and he was afflicted with a virulent skin-disease til his dying day. He livedconfined to his room, while Jotham the king's son, who was master of the palace, governed the country.	5 Yahveh hirió al rey y quedó leproso hasta el día de su muerte. Vivió en una casa aislada, y Jotam, hijo del rey, estaba al frente de la casa y administraba justicia al pueblo de la tierra.

7 Then Uzziah fel asleep with his ancestors and was buried in the City of David; his son Jotham thensucceeded him.	7 Se acostó Ozías con sus padres y le sepultaron con sus padres en la Ciudad de David. Reinó en su lugar su hijo Jotam.
8 In the thirty-eighth year of Uzziah king of Judah, Zechariah son of Jeroboam became king of Israel inSamaria for six months.	8 En el año 38 de Ozías, rey de Judá, comenzó a reinar Zacarías, hijo de Jeroboam, sobre Israel, en Samaría; reinó seis meses.
9 He did what is displeasing to Yahweh, as his fathers had done; he did not give up the sins into whichJeroboam son of Nebat had led Israel. Shal um son of Jabesh plotted against him, murdered him at Ibleam,	9 Hizo el mal a los ojos de Yahveh como hicieron sus padres; no se apartó de los pecados con que Jeroboam, hijo de Nebat, hizo pecar a Israel.
10 and succeeded him.	10 Sallum, hijo de Yabés, conspiró contra él, le hirió en Yibleam, le mató, y reinó en su lugar.

12 This was the word which Yahweh had spoken to Jehu, 'Your sons will sit on the throne of Israel to thefourth generation.' And so it turned out.	12 Esta fue la palabra de Yahveh, la que habló a Jehú diciendo: «Tus hijos hasta la cuarta generación se sentarán en el trono de Israel». Y así fue.
13 Shal um son of Jabesh became king in the thirty-ninth year of Uzziah king of Judah and reigned forone month in Samaria.	13 Sallum, hijo de Yabés, comenzó a reinar el año 39 de Ozías, rey de Judá, y reinó un mes en Samaría.
14 Then Menahem son of Gadi marched from Tirzah, entered Samaria, murdered Shal um son of Jabeshthere and succeeded him.	14 Menajem, hijo de Gadí, subió de Tirsá, entró en Samaría e hirió a Sallum, hijo de Yabés, en Samaría; le mató y reinó en su lugar.

16 Menahem then sacked Tappuah -- kil ing all who were in it -- and its territory from Tirzah onwards,because it had not opened its gates to him; he sacked the town and disembowel ed al the pregnant women.	16 Entonces hirió Menajem a Tappúaj y a todos los que había en ella y a su territorio, a partir de Tirsá, porque no le abrieron las puertas; a todas sus embarazadas abrió el vientre.
17 In the thirty-ninth year of Uzziah king of Judah, Menahem son of Gadi became king of Israel. Hereigned for ten years in Samaria.	17 En el año 39 de Ozías, rey de Judá, comenzó a reinar Menajem, hijo de Gadí, en Israel. Reinó diez años en Samaría.
18 He did what is displeasing to Yahweh, he did not give up the sins into which Jeroboam son of Nebathad led Israel. In his days	18 Hizo el mal a los ojos de Yahveh y no se apartó de los pecados con que Jeroboam, hijo de Nebat, hizo pecar a Israel. En su tiempo,
19 Pul king of Assyria invaded the country. Menahem gave Pul a thousand talents of silver in return for his support in strengthening his hold on the royal power.	19 Pul, rey de Asiria, vino contra el país. Menajem dio a Pul mil talentos de plata para que le ayudara a él y afianzara el reino en su mano.
20 Menahem levied this sum from Israel, from al the men of rank, at the rate of fifty shekels a head, tobe given to the king of Assyria, who then withdrew and did not stay in the country.	20 Menajem exigió el dinero a Israel, a todos los notables, que habían de dar al rey de Asiria cincuenta siclos de plata cada uno. 23 In the fiftieth year of Uzziah king of Judah, Pekahiah son of Menahem became king of Israel inSamaria. He reigned for two years.	23 En el año cincuenta de Ozías, rey de Judá, comenzó a reinar Pecajías, hijo de Menajem, sobre Israel, en Samaría. Reinó dos años.
24 He did what is displeasing to Yahweh; he did not give up the sins into which Jeroboam son of Nebathad led Israel.	24 Hizo el mal a los ojos de Yahveh y no se apartó de los pecados con que Jeroboam, hijo de Nebat, hizo pecar a Israel.
25 Pekah son of Remaliah, his equerry, plotted against him and assassinated him in the palace keep . . .He had fifty Gileadites with him. He kil ed the king and succeeded him.	25 Su escudero Pecaj, hijo de Remalías, se conjuró contra él y le hirió en Samaría, en el torreón de la casa del rey... Había con él cincuenta hombres de los hijos de Galaad. Hizo morir al rey y reinó en su lugar.

28 He did what is displeasing to Yahweh; he did not give up the sins into which Jeroboam son of Nebathad led Israel.	28 Hizo el mal a los ojos de Yahveh y no se apartó de los pecados con que Jeroboam, hijo de Nebat, hizo pecar a Israel.
29 In the days of Pekah king of Israel, Tiglath-Pileser king of Assyria came and captured Ijon, Abel-Beth-Maacah, Janoah, Kedesh, Hazor, Gilead and Galilee -- the whole territory of Naphtali and deported thepopulation to Assyria.	29 En tiempo de Pecaj, rey de Israel, vino Teglatfalasar, rey de Asiria, y tomó Iyyón, Abel Bet Maacá, Yanóaj, Cadés, Jasor, Galaad, Galilea, todo el país de Neftalí, y los deportó a Asiria.
30 Hoshea son of Elah hatched a plot against Pekah son of Remaliah; he murdered the king andsucceeded him.	30 Oseas, hijo de Elá, tramó una conjuración contra Pecaj, hijo de Remalías, le hirió, le mató y reinó en su lugar.

32 In the second year of Pekah son of Remaliah, king of Israel, Jotham son of Uzziah became king ofJudah.	32 En el año segundo de Pecaj, hijo de Remalías, rey de Israel, comenzó a reinar Jotam, hijo de Ozías, rey de Judá.
33 He was twenty-five years old when he came to the throne, and he reigned for sixteen years inJerusalem. His mother's name was Jerusha daughter of Zadok.	33 Tenía veinticinco años cuando comenzó a reinar, y reinó dieciséis años en Jerusalén; el nombre de su madre era Yerusá, hija de Sadoq.
34 He did what Yahweh regards as right, just as his father Uzziah had done.	34 Hizo lo recto a los ojos de Yahveh, enteramente como había hecho su padre Ozías,
35 The high places, however, were not abolished, and the people stil offered sacrifices and incense onthe high places. It was he who built the Upper Gate of the Temple of Yahweh.	35 sólo que no desaparecieron los altos y el pueblo siguió sacrificando y quemando incienso en los altos. El contruyó la Puerta Superior de la Casa de Yahveh.

37 At that time Yahweh began sending Razon king of Aram and Pekah son of Remaliah against Judah.	37 En aquellos días comenzó Yahveh a enviar contra Judá a Rasón, rey de Aram, y a Pecaj, hijo de Remalías.
38 Then Jotham fel asleep with his ancestors and was buried in the City of David, his ancestor; his sonAhaz succeeded him.	38 Jotam se acostó con sus padres y fue sepultado con sus padres en la ciudad de su padre David. Reinó en su lugar su hijo Ajaz.
