2 Kings 13

NEW JERUSALEM	KÁLDI-NEOVULGÁTA
1 In the twenty-third year of Joash son of Ahaziah, king of Judah, Jehoahaz son of Jehu became king ofIsrael in Samaria. He reigned for seventeen years.	1 Joásnak, Ahaszja fiának, Júda királyának huszonharmadik esztendejétől kezdve tizenhét esztendeig Joacház, Jéhu fia uralkodott Izraelen, Szamariában.
2 He did what is displeasing to Yahweh and copied the sin into which Jeroboam son of Nebat had ledIsrael; he did not give it up.	2 Azt cselekedte, ami gonosz az Úr előtt s Jeroboámnak, Nábát fiának bűneit követte, aki vétekre vitte Izraelt s nem távozott azoktól.
3 This aroused Yahweh's anger against the Israelites, and he delivered them without respite into thepower of Hazael king of Aram and of Ben-Hadad son of Hazael.	3 Fel is gerjedt az Úr haragja Izrael ellen s Házaélnek, Szíria királyának és Ben-Hadadnak, Házaél fiának kezébe adta őket ezen egész idő alatt.
4 Jehoahaz, however, tried to placate Yahweh, and Yahweh heard him, for he had seen the oppressionwhich the king of Aram was inflicting on Israel.	4 Joacház azonban könyörgött az Úrnak s az Úr meghallgatta őt, mert látta Izrael nyomorúságát, minthogy elnyomta őket Szíria királya,
5 Yahweh gave Israel a saviour who freed them from the grip of Aram, and the Israelites lived in theirtents as in the past.	5 és szabadítót adott az Úr Izraelnek s ez megszabadult Szíria királyának kezéből s Izrael fiai úgy laktak sátraikban, mint azelőtt.
6 But they did not give up the sin into which Jeroboam had led Israel; they persisted in it, and even thesacred pole stayed standing in Samaria.	6 Mindazonáltal nem távoztak el Jeroboám házának bűneitől, aki vétekre vitte Izraelt, hanem azok szerint jártak, sőt a berek is megmaradt Szamariában.
7 Of Jehoahaz's army Yahweh left only fifty horsemen, ten chariots and ten thousand foot soldiers. Theking of Aram had destroyed them, making them like dust trampled under foot.	7 Pedig nem maradt Joacháznak a népből csak ötven lovasa és tíz szekere és tízezer gyalogosa, mert Szíria királya megölte és olyanná tette őket, mint a por a nyomtatószérűn.
8 The rest of the history of Jehoahaz, his entire career, his prowess, is this not recorded in the Book ofthe Annals of the Kings of Israel?	8 Joacház egyéb dolgai pedig s mindaz, amit cselekedett, meg a vitézsége, nemde meg vannak írva Izrael királyainak krónikás könyvében?
9 Then Jehoahaz fel asleep with his ancestors, and was buried in Samaria; his son Joash succeededhim.	9 Amikor aztán Joacház aludni tért atyáihoz, eltemették Szamariában s fia, Joás lett a király helyette.
10 In the thirty-seventh year of Joash king of Judah, Jehoash son of Jehoahaz, became king of Israel inSamaria. He reigned for sixteen years.	10 Joásnak, Júda királyának harminchetedik esztendejétől kezdve tizenhat esztendeig uralkodott Joás, Joacház fia Izraelen, Szamariában.
11 He did what is displeasing to Yahweh, he did not give up the sin into which Jeroboam son of Nebathad led Israel; he persisted in it.	11 Azt cselekedte, ami gonosz az Úr színe előtt s nem távozott Jeroboámnak, Nábát fiának semmiféle bűnétől, aki vétekre vitte Izraelt, hanem azok szerint járt.
12 The rest of the history of Joash, his entire career, his prowess, how he waged war on Amaziah king ofJudah, is this not recorded in the Book of the Annals of the Kings of Israel?	12 Joás egyéb dolgai pedig s mindaz, amit cselekedett, meg a vitézsége, hogy hogyan hadakozott Amaszjával, Júda királyával, nemde meg vannak írva Izrael királyainak krónikás könyvében?
13 Then Joash fel asleep with his ancestors, and Jeroboam ascended his throne. Joash was buried inSamaria with the kings of Israel.	13 Amikor aztán Joás aludni tért atyáihoz, Jeroboám ült királyi székébe, Joást pedig eltemették Szamariában, Izrael királyai mellé.
14 When Elisha had fal en il of the il ness of which he was to die, Joash king of Israel went down to himand shedding tears over him said, 'Father! Father! Chariot of Israel and its chargers!'	14 Amikor Elizeus megbetegedett abban a betegségben, amelybe bele is halt, lement hozzá Joás, Izrael királya és sírt előtte és ezt mondogatta: »Atyám, én atyám, Izrael szekere és szekérvezetője!«
15 Elisha said to him, 'Bring bow and arrows,' and he sent for a bow and arrows.	15 Azt mondta erre neki Elizeus: »Hozz íjat és nyilakat!« Amikor odavitte hozzá az íjat s a nyilakat,
16 Then Elisha said to the king, 'Draw the bow,' and he drew it. Elisha put his hands over the hands ofthe king,	16 azt mondta Izrael királyának: »Tedd kezedet az íjra!« Amikor aztán rátette kezét az íjra, Elizeus rátette kezét a király kezére
17 then he said, 'Open the window towards the east,' and he opened it. Then Elisha said, 'Shoot!' And heshot. Elisha said, 'Arrow of victory over Aram! You wil defeat Aram at Aphek-completely.'	17 és azt mondta: »Nyisd ki a keleti ablakot.« Amikor aztán kinyitotta, azt mondta Elizeus: »Lődd ki a nyilat.« Ki is lőtte. Azt mondta erre Elizeus: »Az Úr győzelmi nyila, győzelmi nyíl Szíriával szemben: megvered Szíriát Áfeknél a végpusztulásig.«
18 Elisha said, 'Take the arrows,' and he took them. Then he said to the king, 'Strike the ground,' and hestruck it three times, then stopped.	18 Majd azt mondta: »Vedd a nyilakat.« Miután vette, azt mondta neki: »Verd meg a nyíllal a földet.« Amikor aztán háromszor megverte s akkor megállt,
19 At this the man of God grew angry with him. 'You should have struck half a dozen times,' he said, 'andyou would have beaten Aram completely; now you wil beat Aram only three times.'	19 megharagudott rá az Isten embere és azt mondta: »Ha ötször, hatszor vagy hétszer verted volna meg, a végpusztulásig verted volna meg Szíriát, most azonban csak háromszor fogod megverni.«
20 Elisha died and was buried. Bands of Moabites were making incursions into the country every year.	20 Meghalt tehát Elizeus és eltemették. Ugyanabban az esztendőben portyázók jöttek Moábból az országba.
21 Some people happened to be carrying a man out for burial; at the sight of one of these bands, theyflung the man into the tomb of Elisha and made off. The man had no sooner touched the bones of Elisha than hecame to life and stood up on his feet.	21 Bizonyos emberek pedig, akik éppen egy embert temettek, – amikor meglátták a portyázókat, bevitték a holttestet Elizeus sírjába. Amikor hozzáért Elizeus teteméhez, életre kelt az ember, s a lábára állt.
22 Hazael king of Aram had oppressed the Israelites throughout the lifetime of Jehoahaz,	22 Házaél, Szíria királya tehát sanyargatta Izraelt Joacház egész idejében.
23 but Yahweh was kind and took pity on them. Because of the covenant which he had made withAbraham, Isaac and Jacob, he relented towards them; he had no wish to destroy them, he did not cast them outof his presence.	23 Ám az Úr megkönyörült rajtuk s feléjük fordult azon szövetség kedvéért, amelyet Ábrahámmal, Izsákkal és Jákobbal tartott s nem akarta elveszíteni s egészen elvetni őket mind a mai napig.
24 Hazael king of Aram died, and his son Ben-Hadad succeeded him.	24 Amikor aztán Házaél, Szíria királya meghalt s fia, Ben-Hadad lett a király helyette,
25 From Ben-Hadad son of Hazael, Jehoash son of Jehoahaz recaptured the towns which Hazael hadseized from his father Jehoahaz by force of arms. Joash defeated him three times and recovered the Israelitetowns.	25 Joás, Joacház fia visszavette Ben-Hadadnak, Házaél fiának a kezéből azokat a városokat, amelyeket ez hadijoggal elvett apjának, Joacháznak kezéből. Három ízben verte meg őt Joás s így visszaszerezte Izrael városait.
