1 The word of Yahweh came to Jehu son of Hanani against Baasha:	1 - La parola del Signore fu rivolta a Jeu figlio di Anani, contro Baasa, in questi termini:
2 'I raised you from the dust and made you leader of my people Israel, but you have fol owed Jeroboam'sexample and led my people Israel into sins which provoke my anger.	2 «Poichè io ti ho sollevato dalla polvere e ti ho stabilito capo sopra il mio popolo Israele e tu invece hai camminato nella via di Geroboamo e hai fatto peccare il mio popolo Israele in modo da provocarmi a sdegno coi suoi peccati,
3 Now I shal sweep away Baasha and his House; I shal make your House like the House of Jeroboamson of Nebat.	3 io spazzerò via la posterità di Baasa e la posterità della sua casa e farò della tua casa quello che feci della casa di Geroboamo figliuolo di Nabat.
4 Those of Baasha's family who die in the city, the dogs wil eat; and those who die in the open country,the birds of the air wil eat.'	4 Chiunque della stirpe di Baasa, morirà in città sarà mangiato dai cani, e chiunque morirà nella campagna sarà divorato dagli uccelli del cielo».
5 The rest of the history of Baasha, his career, his valour, is this not recorded in the Book of the Annalsof the Kings of Israel?	5 Il resto delle azioni di Baasa e tutto ciò che fece e le guerre sue, non sono forse scritte nel libro delle Cronache dei re d'Israele?
6 When Baasha fel asleep with his ancestors, he was buried in Tirzah; his son Elah succeeded him.	6 Baasa dormì coi suoi padri e venne sepolto in Tersa e gli successe sul trono Ela figliuolo di lui.
7 Furthermore, the word of Yahweh was delivered through the prophet Jehu son of Hanani againstBaasha and his House, first because of the many ways in which he had displeased Yahweh, provoking him toanger by his actions and becoming like the House of Jeroboam; secondly because he had destroyed that House.	7 Quando poi per mezzo del profeta Jeu figlio di Anani la parola del Signore fu proferita contro Baasa e contro la casa di lui e contro ogni male, che egli aveva fatto al cospetto del Signore, irritandolo colle opere delle sue mani, affinchè [la sua casa] diventasse come la casa di Geroboamo, [Baasa] lo uccise, ossia uccise il profeta Jeu figlio di Anani.
8 In the twenty-sixth year of Asa king of Judah, Elah son of Baasha became king of Israel at Tirzah, fortwo years.	8 Nell'anno ventesimo sesto di Asa, re di Giuda, regnò sopra Israele in Tersa per due anni Ela figlio di Baasa.
9 Zimri, one of his officers, captain of half his chariotry, plotted against him. While he was at Tirzah,drinking himself senseless in the house of Arza who was master of the palace in Tirzah,	9 Il servo di lui, Zambri, capo di una metà della cavalleria, cospirò contro di lui; e mentre Ela se ne stava in Tersa bevendo e ubriacandosi in casa di Arsa, prefetto di Tersa,
10 Zimri came in, struck him down and kil ed him in the twenty-seventh year of Asa king of Judah, andsucceeded him.	10 Zambri irruppe nella casa, lo colpì e lo uccise nell'anno vigesimosettimo di Asa, re di Giuda, e regnò in vece di lui.
11 On his accession, as soon as he was seated on the throne, he butchered Baasha's entire family, notleaving him one manjack of them alive, neither relative nor friend.	11 Quando fu re e si fu assiso sul trono di lui, Zambri colpì tutta la famiglia di Baasa e non lasciò in vita neppure uno che orini alla parete, nè parenti, nè amici.
12 Zimri destroyed the whole House of Baasha, in accordance with the word which Yahweh had spokenagainst Baasha through the prophet Jehu,	12 Così Zambri sterminò tutta la famiglia di Baasa, secondo la parola che il Signore aveva pronunziata contro Baasa per mezzo del profeta Jeu
13 because of all the sins of Baasha and his son Elah into which they had led Israel, provoking the angerof Yahweh, God of Israel, with their worthless idols.	13 a cagione di tutti i peccati che Baasa ed Ela suo figlio avevan commesso e fatto commettere ad Israele, provocando colle loro vanità la collera del Signore Dio d'Israele.
14 The history of Elah, his entire career, is this not recorded in the Book of the Annals of the Kings ofIsrael?	14 Il resto delle azioni di Ela e tutto ciò che fece, non è stato forse scritto nel libro delle Cronache dei re d'Israele?
15 In the twenty-seventh year of Asa king of Judah, Zimri became king for seven days, at Tirzah. Thepeople were then encamped in front of Gibbethon, a Philistine town.	15 Nell'anno ventesimosettimo di Asa, re di Giuda, regnò Zambri per sette giorni in Tersa. L'esercito assediava Gebbeton, città dei Filistei;
16 When news reached the camp of how Zimri had not only plotted against but actual y killed the king, alIsrael proclaimed the army commander Omri as king of Israel in the camp that very day.	16 e avendo udito che Zambri si era ribellato e aveva ucciso il re, tutto Israele si nominò re Amri, che era capo dell'esercito in quel giorno nel campo.
17 Omri, and all Israel with him, raised the siege of Gibbethon and laid siege to Tirzah.	17 Amri e tutto Israele partirono da Gebbeton per assediare Tersa,
18 When Zimri saw that the town had been captured, he went into the keep of the royal palace, burnedthe palace over his own head, and died.	18 ma Zambri, vedendo che la città sarebbe stata presa, entrò nella reggia vi diede fuoco e morì,
19 This was because of the sin which he had committed in doing what is displeasing to Yahweh, bycopying the example of Jeroboam and the sin into which he had led Israel.	19 in pena dei peccati che aveva commesso, facendo il male al cospetto del Signore e camminando nella via di Geroboamo e nel peccato con cui aveva fatto peccare Israele.
20 The rest of the history of Zimri and of his conspiracy, is this not recorded in the Book of the Annals ofthe Kings of Israel?	20 Il resto delle azioni di Zambri e la sua congiura e la sua tirannide, non sono forse scritte nel libro delle Cronache dei re di Israele?
21 The people of Israel then split into two factions: one half fol owing Tibni son of Ginath to make himking, the other half fol owing Omri.	21 Allora il popolo d'Israele fu diviso in due parti: una metà del popolo seguiva Tebni figlio di Ginet, e lo voleva creare re, e l'altra metà stava per Amri.
22 But the faction of Omri proved stronger than that of Tibni son of Ginath; thus Tibni lost his life andOmri became king.	22 Prevalse però il popolo che seguiva Amri contro quello che seguiva Tebni figlio di Ginet. Tebni morì e Amri regnò.
23 In the thirty-first year of Asa king of Judah, Omri became king of Israel and reigned for twelve years.He reigned for six years at Tirzah.	23 Nell'anno trentesimoprimo di Asa, re di Giuda, regnò per dodici anni Amri sopra Israele. Regnò sei anni in Tersa,
24 Then for two talents of silver he bought the hil of Samaria from Shemer and on it built a town whichhe named Samaria after Shemer who had owned the hil .	24 poi comperato da Somer il monte di Samaria al prezzo di due talenti d'argento lo coperse d'edifici, chiamando la città da lui costruita col nome di Samaria dal nome di Somer, padrone del monte.
25 Omri did what is displeasing to Yahweh, and was worse than al his predecessors.	25 Amri fece il male al cospetto del Signore e operò iniquamente più di tutti quelli che erano stati prima di lui;
26 In every way he copied the example of Jeroboam son of Nebat and the sins into which he had ledIsrael, provoking the anger of Yahweh, God of Israel, with their worthless idols.	26 camminò in tutte le vie di Geroboamo figlio di Nabat e nei peccati con cui aveva fatto peccare Israele, provocando a sdegno il Signore Dio d'Israele con le sue vanità.
27 The rest of the history of Omri, his career, his valour, is this not recorded in the Book of the Annals ofthe Kings of Israel?	27 Il resto delle azioni di Amri e le guerre da lui fatte, non sono forse scritte nel libro delle Cronache dei re d'Israele?
28 When Omri fel asleep with his ancestors, he was buried in Samaria; his son Ahab succeeded him.	28 Amri dormì coi padri suoi e fu sepolto in Samaria, succedendogli nel regno Acab figliuol suo.
29 Ahab son of Omri became king of Israel in the thirty-eighth year of Asa king of Judah, and reignedover Israel for twenty-two years in Samaria.	29 Acab figliuolo di Amri regnò sopra Israele nell'anno trentottesimo di Asa, re di Giuda, e regnò sopra Israele in Samaria ventidue anni.
30 Ahab son of Omri did what is displeasing to Yahweh, and was worse than al his predecessors.	30 E Acab figliuolo di Amri fece il male al cospetto del Signore più di tutti quelli che erano stati prima di lui.
31 The least that he did was to fol ow the sinful example of Jeroboam son of Nebat: he married Jezebeldaughter of Ethbaal, king of the Sidonians, and then proceeded to serve Baal and worship him.	31 Nè gli bastò di camminare nei peccati di Geroboamo figlio di Nabat, ma di più prese per moglie Jezabel figlia di Etbaal, re dei Sidoni e andò a servire Baal e ad adorarlo;
32 He erected an altar to him in the temple of Baal which he built in Samaria.	32 eresse inoltre un altare a Baal nel tempio di Baal, che gli aveva edificato in Samaria,
33 Ahab also put up a sacred pole and committed other crimes as well, provoking the anger of Yahweh,God of Israel, more than all the kings of Israel his predecessors.	33 e piantò un bosco sacro. Acab col suo operare irritò il Signore, Dio d'Israele più di tutti i re di Israele, che erano stati prima di lui.
34 It was in his time that Hiel of Bethel rebuilt Jericho. Laying its foundations cost him his eldest sonAbiram and erecting its gates cost him his youngest son Segub, just as Yahweh had foretold through Joshua sonof Nun.	34 Ai suoi tempi Iel di Betel edificò Gerico; pose le fondamenta a prezzo della vita di Abiram, suo primogenito, e vi mise le porte a prezzo di quella di Segub, ultimo suo figliuolo, secondo la parola del Signore proferita per mezzo di Giosuè figlio di Nun.
