1 The word of Yahweh came to Jehu son of Hanani against Baasha:	1 Ma il Signore parlò a Jehu figliuolo di Hanani contro Baasa, e disse:
2 'I raised you from the dust and made you leader of my people Israel, but you have fol owed Jeroboam'sexample and led my people Israel into sins which provoke my anger.	2 Perchè io ti ho innalzato dalla polvere, e ti ho fatto capo del popol mio d'Israele, tu hai battute le vie di Jeroboam, e hai indotto il popol mio d'Israele a peccare, provocandomi a sdegno co' loro peccati:
3 Now I shal sweep away Baasha and his House; I shal make your House like the House of Jeroboamson of Nebat.	3 Ecco, ch'io mieterò la posterità di Baasa, e la posterità della sua famiglia; e della tua casa farò quello, che ho fatto della casa di Geroboam figliuolo di Nabat.
4 Those of Baasha's family who die in the city, the dogs wil eat; and those who die in the open country,the birds of the air wil eat.'	4 Quelli della stirpe di Baasa, che morranno in città, saran divorati dai cani, e que', che morranno nel suo territorio, li mangeranno gli uccelli dell'aria.
5 The rest of the history of Baasha, his career, his valour, is this not recorded in the Book of the Annalsof the Kings of Israel?	5 Ma il rimanente delle azioni di Baasa, e tutto quello, che ei fece, e le sue guerre, non son elleno scritte nel Diario dei re d'Israele?
6 When Baasha fel asleep with his ancestors, he was buried in Tirzah; his son Elah succeeded him.	6 Baasa adunque si addormentò co' padri suoi, e fu sepolto in Thersa, e regnò in sua vece Eia suo figliuolo.
7 Furthermore, the word of Yahweh was delivered through the prophet Jehu son of Hanani againstBaasha and his House, first because of the many ways in which he had displeased Yahweh, provoking him toanger by his actions and becoming like the House of Jeroboam; secondly because he had destroyed that House.	7 Ma dopo che Jehu profeta figliuolo di Hanani ebbe parlato per ordine del Signore contro Baasa, e contro la casa di lui, e in vituperazione di tutti i mali fatti da lui nel cospetto del Signore, irritandolo colle opere delle sue mani, onde poi accadesse a lui come alla casa di Geroboam: per questa ragione egli lo uccise, viene a dire, uccise Jehu profeta, figliuolo di Hananf.
8 In the twenty-sixth year of Asa king of Judah, Elah son of Baasha became king of Israel at Tirzah, fortwo years.	8 L'anno ventisei di Asa re di Giuda, Eia figliuolo di Baasa prese il regno sopra Israele in Thersa per due anni.
9 Zimri, one of his officers, captain of half his chariotry, plotted against him. While he was at Tirzah,drinking himself senseless in the house of Arza who was master of the palace in Tirzah,	9 Ma si ribellò contro di lui Zambri suo servo, capitano della metà dei soldati a cavallo. 11 On his accession, as soon as he was seated on the throne, he butchered Baasha's entire family, notleaving him one manjack of them alive, neither relative nor friend.	11 E divenuto re, ed essendo assiso sul trono, sterminò tutta la casa di Baasa, e i parenti, e gli amici di lui senza lasciar vivo un cane.
12 Zimri destroyed the whole House of Baasha, in accordance with the word which Yahweh had spokenagainst Baasha through the prophet Jehu,	12 Così Zanibri distrusse tutta la progenie di Baasa, secondo la parola pronunziata dal Signore per bocca di Jehu profeta,
13 because of all the sins of Baasha and his son Elah into which they had led Israel, provoking the angerof Yahweh, God of Israel, with their worthless idols.	13 A motivo di tutti i peccati di Baasa, e pei peccati di Eia suo figliuolo, quali peccarono, e fecer peccare Israele, provocando ad ira il Signore Dio d'Israele colle lor vanità.
14 The history of Elah, his entire career, is this not recorded in the Book of the Annals of the Kings ofIsrael?	14 Il resto poi delle azioni di Eia, e tutto quello, ch'egli operò, non è egli scritto nel Diario dei re d'Israele?
15 In the twenty-seventh year of Asa king of Judah, Zimri became king for seven days, at Tirzah. Thepeople were then encamped in front of Gibbethon, a Philistine town.	15 L'anno vigesimo settimo di Asa re di Giuda, Zambri regnò per sette giorni in Thersa; perocché l'esercito d'Israele assediava Gebbethon città de' Filistei.
16 When news reached the camp of how Zimri had not only plotted against but actual y killed the king, alIsrael proclaimed the army commander Omri as king of Israel in the camp that very day.	16 E avendo udito come Zambri si era ribellato, e aveva ucciso il re, tutto Israele elesse per suo re Amri capitano delle milizie d'Israele, il quale trovavasi allora nel campo.
17 Omri, and all Israel with him, raised the siege of Gibbethon and laid siege to Tirzah.	17 Amri adunque si mosse con tutto Israele da Gebbethon, e assediò Thersa.
18 When Zimri saw that the town had been captured, he went into the keep of the royal palace, burnedthe palace over his own head, and died.	18 E veggendo Zambri, che la città sarebbe espugnata, entrò nella reggia, e si abbruciò colla casa reale, e mori,
19 This was because of the sin which he had committed in doing what is displeasing to Yahweh, bycopying the example of Jeroboam and the sin into which he had led Israel.	19 Per ragione dei peccati, che avea commessi (facendo il male nel cospetto del Signore, e battendo le vie di Geroboam), e pei peccati, che fece commettere ad Israele.
20 The rest of the history of Zimri and of his conspiracy, is this not recorded in the Book of the Annals ofthe Kings of Israel?	20 Il resto poi delle azioni di Zambri, e la sua congiura, e la sua tirannide, non son elleno descritte nel Diario dei re d'Israele?
21 The people of Israel then split into two factions: one half fol owing Tibni son of Ginath to make himking, the other half fol owing Omri.	21 Allora si divise il popolo d'Israele in due fazioni: la metà del popolo aderiva a Thebni figliuolo di Gineth, per farlo re; e l'altra metà era per Amri.
22 But the faction of Omri proved stronger than that of Tibni son of Ginath; thus Tibni lost his life andOmri became king.	22 Ma la vinse il popolo, che teneva per Amri, contro la gente, che seguiva Thebni figliuolo di Geneth: e Thebni morì, e regnò Amri.
23 In the thirty-first year of Asa king of Judah, Omri became king of Israel and reigned for twelve years.He reigned for six years at Tirzah.	23 L'anno trentuno di Asa re di Giuda, Amri prese il regno d'Israele per dodici anni: in Thersa regnò anni sei.
24 Then for two talents of silver he bought the hil of Samaria from Shemer and on it built a town whichhe named Samaria after Shemer who had owned the hil .	24 E comperò il monte di Samaria da Somer per due talenti d'argento; e alla città, che ivi fabbricò diede il nome di Samaria, dal nome di Somer padrone del monte.
25 Omri did what is displeasing to Yahweh, and was worse than al his predecessors.	25 Ma Amri fece il male nel cospetto del Signore, e fu scellerato sopra tutti i suoi predecessori.
26 In every way he copied the example of Jeroboam son of Nebat and the sins into which he had ledIsrael, provoking the anger of Yahweh, God of Israel, with their worthless idols.	26 E imitò in tutto Geroboam figliuolo di Nabat, anche nell'indurre, come quegli, Israele a peccare, provocando a sdegno il Signore Dio a Israele colle sue vanità.

28 When Omri fel asleep with his ancestors, he was buried in Samaria; his son Ahab succeeded him.	28 E Amri si addormento co' padri suoi, e fu sepolto in Samaria, e succedette a lui nel regno Achab suo figliuolo.
29 Ahab son of Omri became king of Israel in the thirty-eighth year of Asa king of Judah, and reignedover Israel for twenty-two years in Samaria.	29 Or Achab figliuolo di Amri ebbe il regno d'Israele l'anno trentottesimo di Asa re di Giuda; e Achab figliuolo di Amri regnò in Samaria sopra Israele per ventidue anni.
30 Ahab son of Omri did what is displeasing to Yahweh, and was worse than al his predecessors.	30 E Achab figliuolo di Amri fece il male nel cospetto del Signore sopra tutti i suoi predecessori.
31 The least that he did was to fol ow the sinful example of Jeroboam son of Nebat: he married Jezebeldaughter of Ethbaal, king of the Sidonians, and then proceeded to serve Baal and worship him.	31 E non si contento d'imitare i peccati di Geroboam figliuolo di Nabat, ma di più prese per moglie Jezabel figliuola di Ethbaal re de' Sidoni: ed egli andò a servire a Baal, e ad adorarlo.

33 Ahab also put up a sacred pole and committed other crimes as well, provoking the anger of Yahweh,God of Israel, more than all the kings of Israel his predecessors.	33 E piantò un boschetto: e andò avanti nel suo mal fare, provocando a sdegno il Signore Dio d'Israele più che non avean fatto tutti i re d'Israele, che erano stati prima di lui.
34 It was in his time that Hiel of Bethel rebuilt Jericho. Laying its foundations cost him his eldest sonAbiram and erecting its gates cost him his youngest son Segub, just as Yahweh had foretold through Joshua sonof Nun.	34 A tempo di lui Hiel di Bethel edificò Gericho: egli ne gettò i fondamenti sopra del suo primogenito Abiram, e ne piantò le porte sopra l'ultimo suo figliuolo Segub, giusta la parola pronunziata dal Signore per bocca di Giosuè figliuolo di Nini.
