2 Samuel 22

NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 David addressed the words of this song to Yahweh, when Yahweh had delivered him from theclutches of all his enemies and from the clutches of Saul.	1 Davide rivolse al Signore le parole di questo canto, il giorno in cui il Signore lo liberò dalla mano di tutti i suoi nemici e dalla mano di Saul.
2 He said: Yahweh is my rock and my fortress,	2 Egli disse: "Il Signore è mia roccia e mia fortezza, mio rifugio per me è
3 my deliverer is my God. I take refuge in him, my rock, my shield, my saving strength, my stronghold,my place of refuge. My Saviour, you have saved me from violence;	3 il mio Dio; mia rupe in cui mi rifugio, mio scudo e mio corno di salvezza; mia rocca e mio rifugio, mio salvatore. Tu mi salvi dalla violenza.
4 I cal to Yahweh, who is worthy of praise, and I am saved from my foes.	4 Invocai il Signore, degno di lode, e fui salvato dai miei nemici.
5 With Death's breakers closing in on me, Belial's torrents ready to swal ow me,	5 Quando mi avvolsero le onde di morte, i torrenti di Belial mi oppressero,
6 Sheol's snares on every side of me, Death's traps lying ahead of me,	6 le corde degli inferi mi circondarono, mi affrontarono i lacci di morte,
7 I cal ed to Yahweh in my anguish, I cried for help to my God, from his Temple he heard my voice, mycry came to his ears!	7 nella mia angustia invocai il Signore, e verso il mio Dio gridai, dal suo palazzo ascoltò la mia voce e la mia supplica giunse alle sue orecchie.
8 Then the earth quaked and rocked, the heavens' foundations shuddered, they quaked at his blazinganger.	8 Si agitò e si scosse la terra le fondamenta dei cieli tremarono; si agitarono perché si accese la sua ira.
9 Smoke rose from his nostrils, from his mouth devouring fire (coals were kindled at it).	9 Salì fumo dalle sue narici e fuoco divoratore dalla sua bocca, carboni fiammeggiarono da lui.
10 He parted the heavens and came down, a storm-cloud underneath his feet;	10 Piegò i cieli e discese, e una densa nube era sotto i suoi piedi,
11 riding one of the winged creatures, he flew, soaring on the wings of the wind.	11 cavalcò un cherubino e volò, apparve sulle ali del vento;
12 He wrapped himself in darkness, his pavilion dark waters and dense cloud.	12 si avvolse di tenebre come tenda, un ammasso di acqua, nubi profondissime.
13 A brightness lit up before him, hail and blazing fire.	13 Per lo splendore davanti a lui, s'accesero carboni di fuoco;
14 Yahweh thundered from the heavens, the Most High made his voice heard.	14 tuonò dal cielo il Signore e l'Altissimo emise la sua voce:
15 He shot his arrows and scattered them, his lightning flashed and routed them.	15 scoccò frecce e le disseminò, scagliò fulmini e li sparpagliò.
16 The very springs of ocean were exposed, the world's foundations were laid bare, at the roaring ofYahweh, at the blast of breath from his nostrils!	16 Furono messi a nudo gli abissi del mare, le fondamenta del mondo furono scoperte, al rimbombo minaccioso del Signore, al soffio del vento delle sue narici.
17 He reached down from on high, snatched me up, pul ed me from the watery depths,	17 Dall'alto stese la mano e mi afferrò, mi trasse fuori dalle acque profonde.
18 rescued me from my mighty foe, from my enemies who were stronger than I.	18 Mi salvò dal mio potente nemico, dai miei avversari, perché più forti di me.
19 They assailed me on my day of disaster, but Yahweh was there to support me,	19 Mi affrontarono nel giorno della mia calamità, ma il Signore fu il sostegno per me.
20 he freed me, set me at large, he rescued me, because he loves me.	20 Mi fece uscire in luogo spazioso, mi liberò perché si compiace in me.
21 Yahweh rewards me for my uprightness, as my hands are pure so he repays me,	21 Il Signore mi ricompensò secondo la mia giustizia, secondo la purezza delle mie mani mi retribuì;
22 since I have kept the ways of Yahweh, and not fal en away from my God.	22 perché io ho osservato le vie del Signore e non ho agito male lontano dal mio Dio;
23 His judgements are al before me, his statutes I have not put away from me;	23 perché ogni suo precetto fu davanti a me, e dalla sua legge non mi allontanai.
24 I am blameless before him, I keep myself clear of evil.	24 Fui perfetto verso di lui, e mi guardai dal mio peccato.
25 Hence Yahweh repaid me for acting uprightly because he could see I was pure.	25 Il Signore mi ricompensò secondo la mia giustizia, secondo la mia innocenza davanti ai suoi occhi.
26 Faithful you are to the faithful, blameless with the blameless,	26 Con il pio tratti da pio, con l'uomo perfetto tratti da perfetto;
27 sincere to the sincere but cunning to the crafty,	27 con il sincero ti mostri sincero, ma con il perverso ti mostri subdolo.
28 you save a people that is humble and humiliate those with haughty looks.	28 Tu salvi il popolo umile e sui superbi abbassi i tuoi occhi.
29 Yahweh, you yourself are my lamp, my God lights up my darkness;	29 Certo, tu sei la mia lampada, o Signore, è il Signore che illumina le mie tenebre.
30 with you I storm the rampart with my God I can scale any wal .	30 Certo, con te inseguo una truppa, col mio Dio posso saltare una muraglia.
31 This God, his way is blameless; the word of Yahweh is refined in the furnace, for he alone is theshield of al who take refuge in him.	31 Dio, il suo dominio è perfetto, il comando del Signore è sicuro. Egli è scudo per tutti quelli che si rifugiano in lui.
32 For who is God but Yahweh, who is a rock but our God:	32 Certo, chi è Dio fuori del Signore, e chi è rupe fuori del Dio nostro?
33 this God who girds me with strength, who makes my way free from blame,	33 Dio è mia fortezza potente, ed estende il suo dominio perfetto,
34 who makes me as swift as a deer and sets me firmly on the heights,	34 egli rese i miei piedi come quelli delle cerve, mi fa stare in piedi sulle alture;
35 who trains my hands for battle my arms to bend a bow of bronze.	35 egli addestrò le mie mani alla guerra e pose un arco di bronzo nelle mie braccia.
36 You give me your invincible shield, you never cease to listen to me,	36 Tu mi desti il tuo scudo vittorioso e il tuo trionfo mi ha reso grande.
37 you give me the strides of a giant, give me ankles that never weaken-	37 Tu rendesti spedito il mio passo, e le mie caviglie non vacillarono.
38 I pursue my enemies and exterminate them, not turning back till they are annihilated;	38 Inseguii i miei nemici e li distrussi, non tornai indietro finché non li annientai.
39 I strike them down, and they cannot rise, they fal , they are under my feet.	39 Li annientai e li percossi, tanto che non poterono alzarsi, essi caddero sotto i miei piedi.
40 You have girded me with strength for the fight, bent down my assailants beneath me,	40 Mi hai cinto di forza per la battaglia, hai fatto cadere sotto di me i miei aggressori.
41 made my enemies retreat before me; and those who hate me I destroy.	41 Tu mi hai dato la nuca dei miei nemici, i miei avversari li ho sterminati;
42 They cry out, there is no one to save, to Yahweh, but no answer comes.	42 essi guardarono, ma non vi era il salvatore, verso il Signore, ma non rispose ad essi.
43 I crumble them like the dust of the squares, trample them like the mud of the streets.	43 Li ho stritolati come la polvere della terra, come il fango delle strade li ho polverizzati e calpestati.
44 You free me from the quarrels of my people, you place me at the head of the nations, a people I didnot know are now my servants,	44 Mi hai liberato dalle lotte del mio popolo, mi hai conservato a capo delle nazioni, gente che non conoscevo mi ha servito;
45 foreigners come wooing my favour, no sooner do they hear than they obey me,	45 i figli dello straniero si umiliano davanti a me, appena sentono mi obbediscono;
46 foreigners grow faint of heart, they come trembling out of their fastnesses.	46 i figli dello straniero vengono meno, escono tremanti dai loro nascondigli.
47 Life to Yahweh! Blessed be my rock! Exalted be the God of my salvation,	47 Viva il Signore! Benedetta la mia rupe! Sia esaltato il Dio della mia roccia di salvezza,
48 the God who gives me vengeance and crushes the peoples under me,	48 il Dio che mi concede le vendette, e che mi sottomette i popoli,
49 who takes me away from my enemies. You lift me high above those who attack me, you deliver mefrom the man of violence.	49 che mi sottrae ai miei nemici; tu mi poni al disopra dei miei aggressori e mi salvi da uomini violenti.
50 For this I wil praise you, Yahweh, among the nations, and sing praise to your name.	50 Per questo ti lodo, o Signore, tra i popoli, e inneggerò al tuo nome.
51 He saves his king, time after time, displays faithful love for his anointed, for David and his heirs forever.	51 Egli concede grandi vittorie al suo re, e compie opere d'amore per il suo consacrato, per Davide e la sua discendenza per sempre".
